Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Welcome to spring at the Kites!

Come and cosy up from the comfort of the lodge, which can sleep up to three adults and one small child (cot bed can be provided)

Located down an accessible unmade track, surrounded by fields and woodland, situated high above the Wye Valley, The Kites offers total peace and tranquillity, that includes an expansive 40 mile view towards the Black Mountains with the Forest of Dean on your doorstep!

The space
We offer comfortable and practical accommodation on a single storey. The lodge is extremely well insulated (better than our cottage!) and stays nice and cosy, with the central heating, during the colder months.
We have a substantial well equipped kitchen with range cooker, Microwave, coffee maker (Tassimo), dishwasher, fridge and freezer.
There is teabags and coffee to get you started after your journey and we always leave some home-made baked treats.
When in season I will also put a jug of home grown flowers in the kitchen.

There is an ensuite bathroom to the main bedroom, containing a claw foot bath and separate shower.
The main bedroom has a king size, four poster bed, with electric blanket, as well as a large wardrobe/chest of drawers.
The second bedroom has a single bed with a separate WC next door.

From the lounge there is a private decking area, with a wisteria clad pergola, perfect for sundowners (west facing) and a small lawn area.
Please note that the paddock is not accessible to guests.

PLEASE NOTE- can sleep three adults comfortably plus a small child in a cot bed (which can be provided)

Guest access
We have designated guest parking with a short, level path to the lodge where guests have their own private, enclosed garden and decking area to enjoy the views.
There are no steps in accessing the lodge.

Other things to note
We recommend that you stock up on supplies before you arrive or book a slot for a supermarket delivery to be delivered on your arrival.

The nearest shop is not too far away, stocking basic amenities, but we are quite rural.

We provide Bath towels for each guest and a hand towel for each sink. We also provide toilet rolls.

We have oil, condiments and a selection of herbs in the kitchen.

We do not have an EV charging point and advise EV guests to use charging points in Coleford or Ross On Wye. If you an emergency charge we will charge the rate we pay for our electricity based on the full capacity of your battery.

Please note we do not have a BBQ as the lodge and decking are made from wood, making it a fire risk with hot ashes.

In times of extreme heat we do offer the chance for booked guests to cancel, with a full refund. The lodge can get very hot and although we can offer blinds/curtains and a couple of fans, if the temperatures really soar then it can become uncomfortable. We keep an eye on the weather forecast and will get in touch if necessary.
