Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. The Dippy is a former sheep dip barn, part of the bigger Little Brampton Barn, nestled in the idilic south Shropshire hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The property offers two bedrooms, a double and a twin, for four guests in total … a private entrance and patio, stunning views and only steps from the sights and scenery of south Shropshire.

The space
The Dippy is a charming two bedroom bungalow with an open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge. There is also a separate bathroom with shower and a compact utility area which houses a washer-drier and combi-boiler, giving you underfloor heating and hot water on demand. As you’ll have seen in the photos, there are beautiful old beams in the roof spaces and a lovely patio for your private use.

The patio then opens out onto a large lawned garden which in turn leads to a 2-acre field which is a lovely place to take a stroll at any time of the day.

The Dippy has ample private parking and use of a secure storage area for bikes by prior arrangement.

The Dippy is part of Little Brampton Barn within the small hamlet of Little Brampton.

Little Brampton itself is centrally located in the South Shropshire Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where there are numerous walking and cycling routes including The Shropshire Way and Jack Mytton Way. The famous Offas Dyke path is only a few miles away. The Dippy is an excellent base for walking and cycling; as well as exploring the rest of Shropshire and the Welsh Marches.

Nearby walks include the delightful village of Clunbury - 15-20 minutes walk from The Dippy. The villages of Purslow and Clunton, both of which offer pubs for food and drink, are only minutes away by car.

Local landmarks include Stokesay Castle, one of the finest surviving fortified manor houses in England. The medieval market town of Ludlow is an architectural gem with a lively community feel, busy with events and festivals throughout the year.

Ludlow has a reputation for the quality of its food and drink with many excellent restaurants and cafes encouraged by the areas abundance of quality food & drink producers. This is showcased every September when the town is filled with food lovers from all over the UK, and beyond for the Ludlow Food and Drink Festival

Craven Arms, just a few minutes drive away, offers all the necessary amenities including a large supermarket, petrol station, take away food, pharmacy and the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre which hosts various events through the year.

By prior arrangement, the following services can be offered for an additional cost:

- Breakfast - light, continental style breakfast can be delivered to The Dippy.

- Dinner - Beth is an amazing vegetarian cook and can provide meat-free meals for guests of The Dippy to enjoy

- Packed lunches / snacks - vegetarian lunches and snacks can also be provided, ideal for those wishing to take a long walk

- Transport to and from local pubs


DOGS:
Up to TWO well behaved dogs are welcome at The Dippy for a fee of £10 per stay, but a few house rules apply:

- no dogs on beds or the sofas
- bring your own dog bed(s) and bowls etc
- dogs can roam freely in the patio area and in the garden, but must be supervised at all times. They must be on leads in the field if there is livestock present.
- all dog poo must be picked up and placed in the bin provided
- dogs must not be left unsupervised in The Dippy at any time

We also have two dogs - Bruno, a Pattedale terrier, who is quite anxious around other dogs until he gets to know them so please give him a little space. We also have Enzo, a Collie/Kelpie cross who is very friendly so let us know if your pooch wants to say hello.

Hi … we’re Beej and Beth and moved away from the smoke to live in the beautiful south Shropshire hills. We have three grown up kids who have now all flown the nest however we still have our family dogs Bruno and Enzo living with us. We love hosting guests who come and stay at our holiday home here in Shropshire, and we also love to travel, both here in the UK and overseas … we’ve stayed in some amazing AIRBNB places. We’ve met, and learned from, some fantastic hosts and I hope we can be great hosts to you too.
