Guests love this home’s scenic location.
The Garth has many walks straight from the door and family-friendly activities: horse riding, mountain biking, Richmond castle, limestone caves, historic railway and lead mines. The village pub and tearooms are close by (check times). You’ll love our place, with its fantastic panoramic views from all rooms . It is a lovely place to stay for couples, walking groups and families with kids.
APRIL-OCTOBER: FULL weeks, FRIDAYs ONLY. Rest of year, shorter breaks any day .

The space
The Garth is a spacious bungalow with a paved patio, enjoying glorious views of the Dales. It’s decorated and equipped to a high standard with central heating and has a large lounge with an open fire and TV with Chromecast & DVD player. There is good Wi-Fi. The three large bedrooms (one superking and 2 twins), a kitchen diner, bathroom with an extra-long bath and separate shower cubicle, the WC is in a separate room and a garage with games table.

Guest access
Guests have exclusive access to the house, south-facing patio and adjoining garage/games room. The property is accessed via the front door with one step leading to a porch, or through the garage door (2 steps), which is linked to the house.

Parking: There is a designated off road parking for one car in front of The Garth’s gate. Please park in the designated spot to allow room for neighbours’ cars. Any additional cars can be parked in the village square about 100 yards from the property.

Keys: Before you arrive we will send you the information to access the keys.

Please note we do not accept pets at this property

Bedlinen and kitchen towels are provided, but PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PERSONAL TOWELS.

Equipment for children, such as a high chair and travel cot, can be provided on request (please bring cot bedding).

Mobile reception is not very reliable in the area. EE (and any associated networks) seems to get signal in the house but other networks struggle.

WIFI; The password is in the hallway above the router.

There is plenty of room in the garage to stores bikes indoors.

Please note we provide a starter package of firelighters and kindling and plenty of coal.

Gunnerside is a small, picturesque, stone-built village in Swaledale. It has a pub and tearooms, and a fish ‘n’ chips van visits every Friday evening.

Gunnerside nestles in the heart of Swaledale, and from the front door there are numerous walks ranging from the gentle to the more challenging. It is also a popular area with cyclists.

The village is 5 miles from Reeth where there are various shops, a bakery, the Dales National Park Tourist Information Centre, several pubs and restaurants, a Post Office shop, GP surgery and an ice cream parlour.

There are many activities and sites in the area, such as waterfalls, Hazel Brow Farm where you can also go alpaca trekking, Arklemoor Riding Centre, The Forbidden Corner (a novelty folly garden), several castles, limestone caves and caverns, to name but a few.
