Family-friendly holiday rentals in Haliburton County

Jeff was an excellent host- very clear and communicative and easy to get ahold of. The place was better than expected! My family enjoyed a week on the lake here and took advantage of the beautiful sandy beach as well as the paddle boards and kayaks offered. What a comfortable stay with everything you could need!

We had a wonderful girl's weekend at this cottage. We were comfortable and enjoyed the hot tub.

Jeremy's home in the Kawartha's was absolutely perfect for our 2 families and young children. From the moment we arrived we felt so at home! The property is stunning, nestled amongst the trees, though wide open and bright- there is generous deck space, a lawn for kids to run around on (as well as a zip line, swing and hammocks!!) and a sweet meandering path that leads to a quiet lake and dock. The home itself has a comfortable, spacious and relaxed vibe. It's mid century, art filled and modern. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need for creative cooking, and the amenities in general are generous- from board games to water sports, sauna and hot tub. While there we had rainy days and colder days, but there was always so much to do and explore that every day was rich. This home would also be a perfect winter getaway.. maybe one day!

Lovely chalet very close to Sir Sam’s ski hill. Family friendly. Well stocked chef’s kitchen. Cozy wood burning fireplace. Felt like home away from home. Very prompt communication and attention from host. Highly recommend.

Our stay at Suzanne’s place was perfect. We’d love to make it an annual tradition for our family. We’ve stayed on Boshkung Lake previously but being on the little side inlet was even more peaceful as there isn’t as much boat traffic. The house is as described and we really appreciated the baby gear so we didn’t have to pack as much!

Amazing view! Great place to escape and still be connected! Perfect place for a little getaway! Will 100% be recommending this spot to friends and Family!

We came for a quiet retreat from our busy lives and got exactly that! The surrounding forest and snow and hot tub and sauna and fireplace were our staples for the 4 days 😊 The actual accommodations were very clean and spacious (we were 2 families with 7 people altogether and 2 small dogs). The loft was fantastic! David was very accommodating and quick to respond, the instructions and house rules were very clear and detailed. We really enjoyed the privacy of the cottage and proximity to Huntsville and amenities. It was an easy and memorable get away! Thank you so much!

Cute and very rustic cabin for our little kids and dogs. We happened to be there during extreme snow and weather so less to do locally as our little kids did not like the minus 20 feels - but we found puzzles games and toys inside to keep us busy and the nearby town of Haliburton had a Vintage Cafe which was awesome for hanging out and having some warm food and drink. Olga left snowshoes for us to use so my husband and I took turns trekking about. Nature surrounding is beautiful. Nice break from the city. Thanks Olga!

What a fantastic place! Chris's place has everything you need for your stay. The cabin is in a perfect location for anyone that wants to relax and getaway. I was very impressed with the amount of effort Chris has put in to make sure you have everything you need during your stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

We were looking for a cozy winter getaway in the woods and we got exactly that. Helped by the ‘traditional’ winter we are getting this year, yes - so much snow! (and it was wonderful) Susan’s cabin is the perfect rustic throwback to an authentic cabin in the woods with just the right amount of modern amenities. The shower is delightful. The kitchen is cozy and mighty. The view of the lake is a painting from the group of seven any time of day and the wood burning stove is the crown jewel. We really wanted to take advantage of the sauna but could not come to terms with the albeit short trip back inside given the snowfall. Next time. We had an idyllic winter stay and look forward on the flip side to a stay in the summer to experiment the lake!

We and our dogs had a fantastic stay over the Thanksgiving weekend! The cottage was very clean, spacious and had everything you needed. We loved using the wood burning sauna and the fire pit and appreciated that the firewood was provided. Rebecca responded very quickly to any questions we had. I would highly recommend this cottage.

We stayed here in early January and it was truly the most beautiful and cozy stay. The location was great, and we were surrounded by snow and nature. Shireen's home was beautiful and had everything we needed. There is a sauna in the back that we definitely made use of, and the area behind the home was perfect for our dogs to explore. It was just tucked away enough but still an easy location to find. Would definitely consider returning in the summer time!

We spent 3 amazing nights over New Year's at Lyndsays cottage my wife and myself and our 2 dogs. From our first interaction to our last moment at this beautiful place we were treated first class. Will definitely be coming back in the future. Thanks for allowing us to have such a special time at your cottage to bring in the new year

This cottage was breathtaking! We spent so much time on the deck and the dock enjoying the view! So peaceful and beautiful! The kayak was amazing for exploring the narrows and nearby lakes. The cottage road was lovely for hikes and for runs. What an amazing spot to get away from city life and spend time breathing in the fresh air! Highly recommend and would definitely come back! Robyn was a great host - quick to respond and make everything perfect!

What a beautiful cottage on a beautiful lake! The multiple windows really let in the outdoors. there were so many different places to sit outside to enjoy nature and the lake. We used a kayak and a canoe, and Catherine provided all the safety equipment too. She even lent us a couple fishing poles. We chose the option to leave $10 for the garbage removal rather than take it to the dump ourselves. Everything was so simple. We are so glad we chose this cottage.

We LOVED John & Lina’s place. The cottage was beautiful, roomy, and extremely family friendly. They had an abundance of kids toys and accessories (e.g. high chair, playpen, baby gates) that made our stay so much easier and more pleasant. The sunroom was a nice reprieve or area for the kids to play in. John & Lina were super responsive and proactive with instructions and advice. The lake was beautiful and we caught several fish right off the dock. It’s worth noting that the mosquitos are intense (we happened to be there during extremely rainy days) but the cottage had lots of mosquito repellent and face nets. Overall, we had a great time and would highly recommend this cottage!

Hidden gem!! A touch of paradise! Beautiful rustic cabins! Incredible lake views with the most clear water! The hosts are so welcoming and gracious! We had an amazing week here relaxing and enjoying! We will definitely be back!

Great place to stay. Lots of space and very comfortable. We didn’t use the loft but a nice private area if needed. Super close to skidoo trails and to Haliburton for groceries or a dinner out. Lots of room for sleeping and nice to have 2 full size bathrooms. Eric responded immediately and helped us out with any issues that came up. Would definitely stay again.

This is our third time staying at the Cedars and it was amazing as always! Such a cozy, peaceful spot for our family of 4. Loved the wintry landscape and warmth of the cottage. Beautiful views of the lake. Beds were super cozy and the bathrooms were pristine! Only a 20 minute drive to Sir Sam’s ski resort, which we ventured to as well. The outdoor sauna was a fantastic addition, especially after a day of skiing! Ashley is a fantastic host who is always available and responsive if needed. We wish we had stayed longer! Thanks Ashley and Peter! We will be back for sure! :)
