The owners, have tenderly re-created a heavenly chalet after the original chalet from the 1930's was knocked down in 2019 & rebuilt to this stunning standard by local craftsmen. The Old Smithy is set is a secluded valley on the river Tavy. It is a mile from the nearest road, down a private track through beautiful moorland and woodland. It's an ideal base for walking, cycling wild swimming and getting away from it all, a true nature lovers paradise! We live in a house on the same site so will be on hand for any advice or assistance. We are on the edge of Dartmoor National Park and an hour's drive from numerous beaches. The thriving town of Tavsitock is 7 miles away.

A little unique gem full of character to enjoy

The Forge is a unique place full of character set at the edge of Dartmoor and only 2 miles from the market town of Tavistock. The Forge is a great place for cyclists and walkers, or if you just want to get away from it all. The Cornish Coast is not far and the city of Plymouth full of history is just a short car journey. Tavistock has the markets and lovely cafes and restaurants. The Forge has a log burner to snuggle up next too on those chilly evenings and a garden to enjoy.

The house is a small cosy 1 bedroom cottage in the centre of the village of Horrabridge in Devon. There is one double bedroom and an additional single bed in the sitting room. It has been recently refurbished and all the plumbing and electrics are new, it has gas central heating, double glazing and Wi-Fi. There is a garden across the road and a secure shed for bikes etc. There is unrestricted on street parking in the area and usually you can park close by.

We are offering a comfortable, modern self-contained guest suite with self check-in. The suite is on the ground floor of our family home and as such you will hear every day family noise. The suite has its own shower room, kitchen and a bedroom with a standard size double bed and clothes storage. There is a TV with Netflix & I-player as well as WIFI. There are blackout blinds in the bedroom and plenty of free on street parking.
