Absolutely perfect stay. The house is such a great size and layout, especially for a family. Great sized garden for children & everyone kept happy with so many televisions...! Some really good and helpful recommendations of things to do for the children. Overall, not a single negative or complaint I can think of!

Ground Floor Beachfront Apartment, Amazing Views

AngusRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Only a short stay to look around for property to buy. Beautiful beach, free of all the 'kiss me quick' hats etc, just a beach, surf, rabbits and sunsets. Sadly cut short by a vehicle breakdown. Ben and the housekeeping girls were amazing. Thank you. x

Forget-me-not Cottage with Sea & Countryside views

RodneyRating, 5 stars8 months ago
Lisa and Graham were exceptionally friendly from the start, but allowed us our privacy while we were there. Lovely touch having local biscuits and milk on arrival. Linen and towels in the bedrooms were lovely and fresh. The water is supplied from a local spring, and was delicious, and power from solar panels. The view from the kitchen/lounge was amazing - cute goats, sheep and donkeys just outside the door, and views over the hills to the sea. Watching the sunrise was lovely. The "Scratching Post" games room was fun, with fresh eggs and drinks available to buy and a pool table. Bring 50p coins! Really close to lots of walks - either straight from the door to Boggle Hole, or a short drive from Falling Foss with a beckside forest walk. Close enough to drive to Whitby for fish and chips, or Thorpe Stores in Fylingthorpe for a fresh bacon buttie from the friendly local shop. We'd love to come back and stay again.

Hidden Family Farm Paradise- near York & the Coast

LyndseyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We have just returned from a stay in this wonderful barn. Pictures don’t do it justice. It’s even more beautiful than the pictures show. Great location and really peaceful. The children loved seeing the chickens and horses. Great location and would definitely recommend for families wanting to go to Whitby , Dalby Forest and the little village of Thornton Le Dale with its lovely cafes.

Granary Cottage, luxury in NYM National Park

KatherineRating, 5 stars8 months ago
Granary cottage was a lovely, spacious house for all our family. The bedrooms are all a good size, thoughtfully designed and with comfortable beds. The kitchen is well equipped and a sociable place to cook. We appreciated the separate sitting rooms which meant space to relax and read or watch tv. The view was glorious as was watching the stars!

Your guide to Hornsea

All About Hornsea

Situated on the Holderness coast in East Yorkshire, Hornsea is a quintessential British coastal town surrounded by nature reserves and, along the shores of the North Sea, a sandy beach designated safe for swimming. To the west lies Hornsea Mere, a large glacial freshwater lake formed in the Ice Age that is now a bird sanctuary, a nesting home for reed warblers, little egrets, and kingfishers. The lake is also a popular spot for rowing, sailing, and fishing for pike and carp. On Hornsea’s seafront, the town’s Leisure Centre welcomes adults and children to its swimming pools and café overlooking the promenade.

Hornsea sits at the eastern end of the famous Trans Pennine Trail, which links the North and Irish seas and is a popular trail for hikers, cyclists, and horseback riders. This 207-mile surfaced path, which is part of the National Cycle Network, offers dramatic scenery and gentle inclines. For those who enjoy the sport of shopping, Hornsea also is home to factory outlets for home items, fashion, and sporting goods.

The best time to stay in a holiday rental in Hornsea

Although the Yorkshire coast never grows scorching hot, summer is the most popular time to visit this seaside town, as average temperatures are pleasantly warm. In July, the Hornsea Carnival offers family-friendly rides, games, food, and live music, culminating with a parade and fireworks. And in August, an annual biker event attracts motorbike enthusiasts from near and far, some of whom ride up on their vintage bikes. If you’re visiting Hornsea during the autumn, when the town is quieter, you’ll want to bundle up for long, cool-weather beach strolls. November is when temperatures drop into the chilly range, occasionally dipping below the freezing point in December and January. Spring pops with budding trees, blooming flowers, and the opening of Hornsea Local Market, which is held on the fourth Saturday of the month between April and October and features local produce, homemade baked goods, and crafts.
