Waterfront holiday rentals in Houten

After I made my reservation I immediately communicated with the hosts. However there was no response. I was a little concerned as I was soon departing for the Netherlands and I have not heard from them. I called the contact number provided on the listing & spoke to Willem. Upon arrival at the property, I had a friendly welcome by Willem, the host. He was kind enough to allow an early check-in due to my early arrival in Amsterdam. The acomodation was spacious, clean and homey. It provided all the necessities needed. The place is in a farmland surrounded with nature. Situated adjacent to the water, swimming ducks, & swans were a familiar sight. Across the distance, were cows, sheep, horses. Beautiful surroundings, it was quiet & secure. It provided me comfort for one month of my stay. There was free parking outside for my rental car. Willem & Anja were kind and friendly. They made sure my stay was pleasant. I would highly recommend this place & would consider staying here again.

Very well appointed studio, peaceful place, quiet. Very good bedding. Margreet left us small gifts like the little chocolates for Easter, small beers and enough coffee pods for our stay, it's very nice. I can wholeheartedly recommend this listing

Naarden is SUCH a beautiful place and we wouldn’t have found a more primal location if we tried. Between the location and the beautiful flat, you can’t ask for more. The price is a bargain, and our host was such a kind and thoughtful host. We felt right at home, and were hoping to come back next year!

One of the most beautiful places I’ve been to. Fantastic nature, close to the major cities Utrecht and Amsterdam, cca 30 minutes by car to either one. The apartment is on the roof of the building, surrounded by succulents and flowers. The view from the apartment is breathtaking. The nature park part of the lake is a must see. The staff is very helpful and friendly, we will be back for sure!

This stay was perfect for our last night in the Netherlands. We wanted to be close to the airport. It was about a 15min walk to the bus stop and then a 30-40 min bus ride. The place was so pretty and was very comfortable. I would recommend.

The house of Marlieke and her family is actually even nicer than the pictures! The view of the countryside is just amazing! In addition, the fridge was full of drinks, butter, rolls, croissants, cheese, milk and a lot of eggs from our own chickens and more. In addition, Marlieke provided us with a huge fruit basket, we were able to squeeze fresh O-juice for breakfast, wonderful! This is not self-evident, we actually lacked nothing. Marlieke was incredibly hospitable and gave us many valuable excursion tips. The highlight for the children (3 and 6 years) was the rabbits and chickens that they were allowed to feed every day. In addition, Marlieke provided a lot of toys for them, so there was never boredom. Furthermore, there is a washer and dryer, which was very convenient. The house is absolutely clean and totally cozy, we just felt completely comfortable!

Very quiet place to stay for a couple of nights. It was in a lovely location on the edge of the park by the deer, chickens and peacocks, and there were a couple of places to eat or get a drink nearby that the owners had named in the handbook. To walk to the old town took about 25 mins to walk and 15 to the train station. We were travelling with an infant and my daughter loved playing with the Lego they left out for her.

Biljana's place was great to stay at and great for families. The neighbourhood is quiet, serene and with at least 3 playgrounds in walking distance of the house, we had a lot to do for our toddler in the quietmoments in between trips. Parking is free and spaces are abundant. She provides lots of toys for little ones and provided a travel cot for our 2 year old that was not yet used to sleeping on a bed. The place is well kept, clean and a treat. The air conditioning was great for the hottest days. Access to the house is best in class. Would happily stay here again. Thanks for letting us share your home for those days!

Spacious and well decorated apartment in a typical old house. Our host welcomed us very warmly despite our late arrival. Beautiful hearty breakfast. We recommend it without reservation.

We have just had the most wonderful stay at this beautifully restored farmhouse. We were on a self-drive holiday from the UK and visited Utrecht, Lisse, Zandaam, all within an hour's drive from this location, along with a wander into IJsselstein. The accommodation was immaculately clean and had everything we needed to be able to cook whilst away, and Astrid is the most amazing host. We would definitely visit again would recommend it for a central location to visit lots of local tourist destinations. Make sure you take a wander locally and find the trust cafe, the Dutch Apple Cake is homemade and delicious!

We had a great weekend and would have liked to have stayed longer! The accommodation was super relaxing, many places were easy to reach and we got a lot of good tips for the area. We will be happy to come back for a weekend!

Wonderful place to get away from it all! We were in a busy renovation and had to stay somewhere else with our sweet hangover and fortunately found this pearl in Culemborg. Never been to this town before, but we will definitely be back! Dear people, ridiculously beautiful old buildings and you can indulge your Burgundian heart completely at the local caterers and artisan butchers/wineries. In short, this beautiful town is a fantastic surprise. In addition, the house offers seas of peace, everything is within walking distance and has a nice separate study if you have to separate with your laptop (incl. Extra monitor and large whiteboard). All in all I would say; don't hesitate and just book ;)

Very comfortable house. It is spacious, the kitchen is well equipped (even with knives that cut well). There are all kinds of cleaning products. The beds are comfortable (1.80 wide double bed and 1.60 sofa bed). It has a nice garden. There are some board games. The area is very quiet and you can take good walks. A five-minute walk away is the village where there is a supermarket, bar/restaurant, gas station, bakery and ice cream parlor. We've gotten around by car. It is 30 minutes from Uttrecht, 40 from Amsterdam, 1 hour from The Hague, 1 hour to Kröller-Müller. It is in the center of the country, very close to highways, making it easy to get around. Watch out for mosquitoes! During the day there aren't any, but we left windows open in the afternoon/evening and our house was filled with mosquitoes. If you close them in the middle of the afternoon, that's fine. Jean-Pierre is very friendly and answers questions instantly. He warned us of roadblocks and prepared a user manual with very useful information for visiting the country.

Lovely spacious place, incredibly clean with provided entertainment in the form of board games and video games. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Lots of space and great location if you plan to drive around. The view of the canal was very fun to have.

The apartment is very well equiped and tastefully decorated. It has a beautiful view over one of the principal canals and is close to the beginning of the main street of the historic center, with plenty of restaurants. It is a fairly long walk from the Utrecht Centraal station, but it is very close to the Vaartsche Rijn station and you can catch Sprinter trains that stop at Vaartsche Rijn. The laudromats within a 15 to 20 minute walk are worthless. One has some outdoor machines at a car wash, where you are supposed to download an app to make the machines work but the app assumed you are already registered and provides no way for you to open a new account. The other laundromat had half the machines broken and when we put in money to use one of the other machines that one turned out to be broken as well and there was no way to get our money back. Overall, this is a great place to stay, but make sure you wash your clothes before or after your stay.

Linda was great and her place is incredible! The location is perfect - in the main area yet totally quiet and beautifully located on a canal. Linda herself welcomed us in, showed us the place, and even pointed out some local things to do (with maps). & She even provided us with some delicious goodies. Overall, a dream stay in a dream location!

Maxime's apartment is very nice and equipped, in line with the photos and very comfortable. Maxime was very helpful and gave us a lot of information on how to get to Amsterdam and what to do. The house is in a very nice location, definitely beautiful in the summer. We stayed at New Year's Eve and it was perfect as a foothold and then visit Amsterdam.l, easily reachable by car in less than 30 minutes. Highly recommended.

A very nice and well-equipped apartment where you can make yourself comfortable. Ideal for getaways. Miriam (with Ger) is a nice, accommodating and uncomplicated hostess. We felt very comfortable!
