Kid-friendly holiday rentals in John H. Kerr Reservoir

We had a very nice stay in this home. It was very convenient to the interstate, hospital and many restaurants. It was in a quiet neighborhood. Everything was clean and comfortable, as pictured online. The kitchen had lots of amenities and was ready with everything for your morning coffee. We even enjoyed playing Monopoly one night. We were only disappointed that the master bath did not have a traditional shower. (There was however a beautiful jacuzzi tub and hand held nozzle.). There was a shower/tub upstairs. Debra was a very friendly and responsive host.

We had a great stay at Erwin’s! Everything was just as described and the extra touches Erwin added to make us feel at home were awesome and so appreciated. We had plenty of room for our family of five and dog. We loved the walkable neighborhood and being so close to restaurants and playgrounds. We’d love to come back when it’s warmer and enjoy the huge backyard.

We would definitely stay again. It was well appointed and served our purposes well while there to see 4 colleges. It’s close to lots of places to eat. Wish we’d had better weather to enjoy the back yard.

Jim & Donna's Airbnb was perfect for our weekend getaway to Durham. It was conveniently located and had everything we needed. They were very accommodating hosts and we would definitely stay here again!

Excellent location, beautiful home. I had some trouble with the lockbox because I never used one before but Pennie walked me through it very kindly. Loved the TVs in the bedrooms upstairs. I saw the comments about the bedroom downstairs and the high bed. The room was beautiful and with walk in shower. My 83 y/o mother stayed down there and had no issue with the step stool that was provided. Beds were comfortable, lots of space, excellent open kitchen and eating area for conversation. Not far from the grocery store and excellent restaurant on Lake Gaston, Waterviews. Recommend this place.

Just right for our whole family to get together. Plenty of bedrooms. Lovely master bedroom suite. Great to have two tables, one for six and one for eight. Nice fireplace.

This is our 3rd year staying here for our annual weekend at the lake and the house is the perfect set up for our families. The weather was perfect, the fish were biting and it is the perfect place to relax for the weekend. Matt and crew are very responsive, highly recomend.

Had a group stay while working at the casino. Very happy with the place. No issues. Had to extend the stay and was very responsive in communicating with the change.

Bryan’s apartment is just as described. It was squeaky clean upon arrival, and the location is terrific! Great place to stay if you’re looking to stay in downtown Durham/near Duke University’s East Campus.

Just as described, clean, spacious and peaceful place in a quiet neighborhood. I can feel how much Ms. Sylvia cares about her guests as she has prepared all bathrooms essentials, plenty of linens and all kinds of drinks in the fridge and snacks. Easy to access to the interstate and close enough to downtown area. Will definitely stay here when we have a chance to visit this area again.

Location was perfect, very close to many good restaurants, bars and cafes. The apartment was very spacious and very nice - super clean and everything felt brand new. Lucy communicated very well and was very nice. Would highly recommend for staying in Durham

Haley's apartment is a perfect place to recoup and renew yourself, in a great little spot on Duke campus. It's easy to get to museums and lovely local sights, easy to get to shops and restaurants nearby, and everything was super comfy and clean. I'm from the area, so I try to get back regularly to see family and work, and Haley's apartment was the ideal choice for my last visit. If you're visiting the Triangle, Haley's place is a fantastic fit!

I would recommend this place to everyone! Clear instructions on how to access the building and they were so responsive. I had to make updates to my reservation a couple times because some of my plans changed and they were so helpful and made it such a smooth process. The place was just like the photos advertised and was nice and clean! Loved everything about my stay!!

I’d highly recommend staying at this clean, quiet and comfy garage apartment when in Durham. Its close proximity to Duke’s East campus makes it real nice and easy for a walk/run. This location is also very close to downtown so easy to access plenty of food/drink options!

Joshua was really great at communicating - quick and clear. His unit was advertised. The only thing I would point out is that the apartment is light on essentials - for instance, there is a washer/dryer but no laundry supplies (same for cooking and cleaning supplies). This wasn't an issue for us but if you're planning on spending an extended period of time, plan on bringing your own supplies or buying them. (We did ask for some basics to be provided and Joshua provided them promptly). we definitely would stay here again!

Stephen was thoughtful, friendly, and welcoming. He's clearly a person who has spent his life creating special experiences and spaces for other people. There's nothing generic or bland about this place. The only thing I didn't love was the welcome messages were overlong. While I appreciate the little anecdotes & snippets of information, I don't prefer to have to comb through so many words to find out how to get into the house.

Rental unit was as described, very clean and easy to check in. Location is great - walkable to downtown. The bed was SO comfortable, and the linens were nice.

Linda’s condo was quite large and each bedroom had its own full bathroom. The kitchen was nice and big and well stocked with everything needed for cooking. I would definitely recommend staying here if you’re in the area. If I ever go back to this area, I will be looking to see if her place is available.

I got this place for my parents when they were visiting us, and my kids got sick. I didnt actually go inside, but they tell me it was very comfortable, and they enjoyed their stay.

I highly recommend this condo. I was there with a relative at Duke University Hospital, and you could not get a better location. I highly recommend.

Downtown Digs was an amazing and stress free stay! One of the most detailed places I’ve stayed. Everything was labeled and had clear instructions. Communication was superb as we decided to extend our stay one additional night! And the place was extremely clean. Would stay again 100%!

I was in a unique situation starting Christmas Eve where I needed a place to stay while waiting on approval for a rental I had applied for and for my items to be delivered by PODS. So I ended up needing to extend my original stay. This place was a nice respite after the stress of the twist of events that occurred the week before. It’s generally very quiet. Last night there was noise above me from the upstairs neighbor. Loud thuds in middle of the night but it didn’t last long thankfully. The unit is clean, cozy and fully stocked with everything you need including a Whole Foods a mile away.
