Founded in 1957, my grandfather, Sakaichi Tanai, ran a ryokan called "Aiwaso" for the cultural development of Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture.In order to preserve its history and traditions, "Hiroko", my grandson, has been restored and opened in 2021. Located on the ruins of Uenoyama Castle, this inn is a pure Japanese house with floors.Please spend time in 2 Japanese-style rooms.There is an inn on a hill overlooking Tanabe city, so you can enjoy the sunrise in the morning, sunset in the evening, and at night.On a day when the wind is calm, I recommend the cypress wooden deck, which is created with the image of the moon view of the Kwai Rikyu Palace, and I recommend tea time for the rattan chairs on the veranda. The new bath and toilet are accessible and spacious, so you can easily bathe together or need assistance. We have installed popin.aladdin (lighting with a projector) in one of the Japanese-style rooms. and projected on the fusuma. You can watch TV, music, movies, etc.Enjoy BGM etc. on youtube before going out in the morning. My parents, Kiso Tanai, and Yuko (Japanese) live next to the inn, so please feel free to contact us if you need anything.

Traditional Japanese architectural warehouse in our garden (for safe storage of home, goods, etc.Warehouse.) We have renovated it as a residence. There are very few people building to build right now. No meals are allowed. Cooking is not allowed. There is a sink, microwave oven, toaster toaster, electric kettle, and refrigerator. Washing machine available free of charge (no dryer) The bath is a shower room (no bathtub) One private group per day. It is completely separated from our house.Private is secured. Shower, toilet, etc. are not shared. About 9 minutes on foot from JR Shingu station. 1 min walk to FamilyMart (24hr store) There are also taverns within walking distance where you can eat fresh sashimi, sushi, and Shinomiya specialties such as sushi, so you won't have any trouble eating. (The time to finish is earlier than the city) There are 6 bicycles for rent. (free)　 Parking is available in front of the gate (free on site). Shingu City is in the middle of Kumano City, Nachikatsuura-machi, Hongu, and anywhere, so you can visit World Heritage sites as a base.

1 minute walk from Shingu Station. 2 minutes from the bus stop. It is a Japanese-style house with a small Japanese courtyard. You can try on valuable samurai armor, helmets, and bridal gowns (kimono)for free. The house is reserved for a group of 3 or more people per day. Please relax as if you were at home. We usually accept up to 8 people, but we can accommodate up to 10 people on request. There is a convenience store in front of the house, which is very convenient.

"Genki House", a house near Kumano Hongu-Taisha

It’s a house 8km from the Hongu Taisha. (about 15 minutes' drive) If you have a car it's more convenient, but if not I'll be happy to drive you to and from a bus stop or a tourism spot in Hongu area.Also I provide two bikes at the house. My family run an organic farm, bakery, NPO offering long-stay for the youth, and an alternative school for children nearby. You'll have some loaves of bread from our bakery(^^)/ （If you don't eat bread please let me know beforehand)

Stay in a Novel. A retreat next to World Heritage

The name of our house is Kamikura-Hideaway. It is a small two-story house located at the foot of the World Heritage-listed Kamikura Shrine in Shingu City. It was created by renovating a 50-year-old house. Since a petrologist lived here, bits of history are scattered throughout the building. Visitors to the building are free to look around and touch the items inside. We hope you will enjoy the experience of touching someone's story "floating" around the room.

Kumano house

between kamikura shrain and hayatama shrain at the walk 10min. It takes 15min by walking from house to JR Shingu Station. There isn't anyone in the house. You can relax very much. Other things to note. This place has an official permission from local government and satisfied fire safety as a short term rental accommodation. Please note that we have legal obligation in Japan to request copy of passports.
