CASA SILVIA, WITH PRIVATE POOL CLOSE TO BEACHES

WardRating, 5 stars6 months ago
We (my wife, three kids and me) had an amazing time at Pedro's holiday house. The house was big enough and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. The swimming pool was used every day. We walked to the beautiful beach every day. Burgau village is really cozy. And Pedro was really helpful and available for all out questions. When arriving he made us feel right at home! Thank you so much for the great holiday.

A large villa with pool and garden.

NicoRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Met 5 volwassenen en 1 kind (9jaar) hebben wij van 27 oktober tot en met 2 november 2024 met heel veel plezier verbleven in de prachtige villa. Alles was prima in orde.

Large 1 Bedroom apartment with great views & pool

MantasRating, 5 stars6 months ago
We had the most amazing month-long stay at this peaceful gem. The location is incredibly serene, perfect for anyone looking to relax and unwind, yet everything is easily accessible by car. Lagos is just a 13-minute drive away, which made exploring the area so convenient. And Luz.. It’s the coziest and most beautiful little town we’ve visited in Portugal. The home itself was perfect and had everything we needed for a long stay. The kitchen is fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals at home. Our house was cleaned every week, which was such a nice touch, and there was plenty of storage space throughout, so we always felt organized and comfortable. The beds are huge and pretty comfy, making it easy to rest after a day of exploring. Wifi was good, so a big plus for remote workers like us. One of the highlights was the outdoor space and swimming poool. The terrace is fantastic for lounging, and we used the grill several times for BBQs. Peaceful atmosphere, combined with friendly dog

Paradise Cottage. Beach in 1900m. Amazing view!

DwightRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Vitor is that increasingly rare host that meets you in person and escorts you to the accommodation. He is very pleasant, speaks very good English and takes time to ensure you are completely satisfied. The home is spacious and includes amenities you would seldom expect to find, like a fire pit in the yard. It is private and a reasonable walk from Luz. I highly recommend it to you. We will very likely stay there again if we are in the Algarve in the future.

2 bed cottage with all amenities including pool

JackRating, 5 stars1 week ago
By far one of the best Airbnb’s I’ve ever stayed at. PJ and Julia were excellent hosts and responded immediately to any questions we had. The property was beautiful and I could not have asked for a better, more relaxing vacation than the time spent at PJ’s and Julia’s Airbnb. They were extremely friendly and took care of any request we had right away. We ran out of gas on the grill and PJ stopped what he was doing and took care of it immediately to not hold us up on our dinner plans. We greatly appreciated the attention to detail and just the general good vibes given by the hosts. Great conversation and also very cute dogs that joined my friends and I by the pool and on the tennis court… we didn’t even have to chase down our tennis balls, the dogs took care of that and returned the balls to us right away! 10/10 experience and would highly recommend to anyone staying in the Lagos area.

Casa do Encontro - Idyllic village house with pool

KimRating, 5 stars1 day ago
Eigenlijk was alles geweldig!

We have had a lovely week staying at this beautiful villa, with our 3 grown up children and their partners. We loved the pool, hot tub and lovely garden. The villa was spacious and had everything we needed. All communications with Margot were helpful and she always replied very quickly. We had a small issue on holiday which was dealt with immediately we contacted her, Would definitely love to return to this villa.

Your guide to Lagos

All About Lagos

Once a prominent port town and a favourite haunt of smugglers, Lagos occupies an enviable position on the Algarve Coast on Portugal’s southwestern tip. The Moorish presence of centuries ago is still felt in the ornate ironmongery, turrets, and ancient city walls of the Old Town. Narrow cobbled streets, charming squares, and vibrant tiled buildings create a picturesque backdrop for bars, cafes, and street entertainers. The area also features striking natural scenery, with sheltered Atlantic coves and beaches perfect for exploring, particularly the dramatic, weathered cliffs of the Ponta da Piedade headland.

Lagos may be one of the largest towns in the western Algarve, but it’s generally quieter than neighbouring Praia da Rocha or Albufeira. And while the town centre has no shortage of historical landmarks, modern Lagos is focused around the buzzing nightlife of the marina area, where restaurants showcasing the area’s seafaring legacy and lively bars stay open until the early hours. If you’re a true adrenaline junkie, spend a day of two at nearby theme parks and water parks.

The best time to stay in a holiday rental in Lagos

Beach season starts in Lagos in May, when temperatures begin to heat up but peak season hasn’t yet arrived. Consider booking your villa in Lagos this month for some early summer sun. To see the city come to life and enjoy the midsummer vibe of the Algarve, book a holiday rental in Lagos for July or August. Bear in mind that the high temperatures in southern Portugal can be uncomfortable for the uninitiated, and you’ll need plenty of sun protection. Nature enthusiasts are advised to plan a visit to Lagos in early spring, when the Ponta de Piedade cliffs are home to wild figs, blossoming flowers, and nesting herons. The annual Sagres Birdwatching Festival also takes place on the first weekend in October.

Top things to do in Lagos

Marina de Lagos

The modern marina is home to a variety of bars and restaurants, as well as sailboats, glamorous yachts, and catamarans. Wander along the waterfront and take in sea views to one side and bobbing boat masts to the other. This is a scenic spot to sit and watch the world go by while sipping on a vinho verde.

Ponta de Piedade

Just outside of town, the Ponta de Piedade is one of the Algarve’s most prized natural features. Over the millennia, Atlantic storms have worn away the limestone coastline to form rock arches, magical grottos, and sea pillars. You can admire the contrast of golden cliff faces and turquoise waters from land or sea. One adventurous route has you descend 180 wooden stairs to the base of the most beautiful cove.

Igreja de Santo António

From the outside, this Portuguese National Monument appears simply as a pretty, traditional whitewashed church. Once inside, you’re greeted by an ornate Baroque tribute to Saint Anthony, a beloved Lisbon-born saint. The nave is adorned with colourful depictions, gilded wood, and vibrant azulejos. Vaulted ceilings and an abundance of sacred artwork make this church rather special.
