Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Lake Macquarie

A beautiful oasis setting, in the trees. Wonderful western aspect offering evening opportunities to sit on the balcony and watch the sudnown. Easy 2 minute drive to Avoca beach. Really well set up kitchen with double cooktop and oven. Great communication from Janine and Henk.

We spent the long weekend at Kylie’s place to attend a family wedding at Redleaf at Wollimbi. The house was perfect for our group of 11 adults ! It also gave us great peace of mind that we could bring our dogs with us . The beds and bedding were super comfy, and we had plenty of space in the living, kitchen area. It was great being able to fit us all around the large dining table for meals and playing games. There were a few minor details that could have been addressed to boost guest comfort : the grass in the backyard was high and hadn’t been mowed for a while and there were not enough places to hang 11 bath towels…. Hooks in the bedrooms would have been handy. Over all it was a very comfortable house to stay at and boosted our enjoyment of our busy weekend catching up with family.

Donna’s place was great and the park next door for the kids was awesome and allowed us to unwind while give the kids something to do while burning off excess energy. While getting dinner ready you could see the kids through the window with full view of the park. The coffee shop across the road was a god send to get your morning started. Donna helped us out with a baby sitter so we could have a kid free dinner. We had a few rainy days which was a challenge to get clothes dry with the house not having a dryer but other than that we had an amazing time and would thoroughly recommend Donna’s place!!

Lovely location, house is comfortable, relaxed and perfect for a beach holiday. Our dogs loved the back yard and the dog beach. Ceiling fans were essential as there is no air conditioning. We had a great stay and will be back.

Nics place was amazing!! The pool was such a hit with the kids and we didn’t have to entertain them. We also played soccer and badminton on their backyard. So much space! I would definitely return. Nic is communicative as well as giving us the details. Place is close to the shops, 1km walk to the cafe and groceries. Also sandy beach is nice with the kids and you can bbq and it’s only 5min walk. Thanks Nic for having us!!

We loved our stay. Justin was so lovely! House was equipped with all your needs to cook, kick back, relax and soak in the most stunning view. Very spacious, never felt crowded (we were a group of 12), we went there to relax and that's exactly what we did. Justin is super friendly and accommodating and genuinely wants you to have a good time while there. This is an absolute waterfront property- it meant the kids can nap/early bed time and you can still be with everyone soaking in the view. We barely left the house (other than to buy groceries), it was just perfect,

This apartment was clean, comfortable and peaceful. I wish we’d just spent more than one night! There were sufficient amenities, the beds were comfortable, and the air conditioning a lifesaver. Alison was prompt on her responses, and allowed us to check in slightly earlier which was much appreciated. This was a gorgeous apartment near the beach and within walking distance to cafes. Would recommend, and would stay again!

We had the most amazing weekend at Donna’s place, Turtles. The apartment was clean, well- equipped, spacious, light and bright. The location was perfect for beach access and lovely panoramic views. Donna was polite and friendly in all interactions, responding quickly and providing detailed instructions. We will most definitely be returning to Turtles at Caves Beach, thanks so much Donna!!

Fantastic apartment, literally on the beach. I was initially worried about having no air con, but this wasn't an isue as the ocean breeze was perfect through the apartment. Bed was incredibly comfortable, no noisy neighbours, well stocked apartment throughout. Great communication with Jonathan throughout our stay. Highly recommend this accommodation.

We had an amazing stay at Steve's place! The apartment was clean, cozy, and exactly as described in the listing. The location was perfect—quiet, yet close to all the local attractions. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the welcome chocolate and local recommendations. The communication with Steve was excellent from start to finish. He was responsive and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway, and we would love to stay here again!

Beautiful studio- like apartment - lovely furniture and balcony and very comfy bed. Bianca was very despair and have great local recommendations! Loved the availability of acar spot in the garage as parking is hard to find around the area!

This Airbnb was the perfect place to unwind and recharge. The apartment was surprisingly spacious and despite being in a convenient location, it was wonderfully quiet, ensuring peaceful nights and restful mornings. We loved the calming atmosphere and would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a truly relaxing getaway.

Overall, a good place with wonderful views of Broken Bay and the Pacific Ocean, and West St Umina. The place is tucked away in the hills area, so you will need a car or put yourself on the bus which stops outside. The property is located down a steep driveway. Inside it has sunken downstairs bedrooms and above is a well appointed and stocked kitchen and lounge area. The shower is great for couples who like different temperature with its dual nozzle system. Bedding is comfortable. Tip for new stayers, there is a second oil heater behind the wood heater which we discovered on checkout. Paul is a supportive host that offers flexibility.

From the front door, the heritage reels you in. The decor and art throughout the apartment is amazing. Did alot of googling about the artists as well!! The beds were so soft and all bathroom necessities were provided. We were only a $15uber from the best steak I've had. A walk across the street gave us great coffee and the beach at the end of the road recouped our souls after a lively weekend. I Wouldn't hesitate to book again. Fantastic location. Fantastic price. Parking was as expected. We managed to snag a spot out the front and for $20 parked Friday afternoon until the free parking started at 12pm Saturday.

Absolutely loved Keran's place it had everything we needed and was in a brilliant location for walking to the beach and local eateries. We were really comfortable!

What a beautiful elegant place to stay. Lovely proportions and layout inside , it has a wonderful balcony . We loved the amazing views and the lookout at canopy level . The west facing aspect is to die for. Pleasant walk down to the hotel restaurant so easy to get evening meals and breakfast on the resort . Brilliant escape for a short or long stay in the Hunter valley . Sad to leave , can’t wait to be back

Fantastic stay at Connie’s apartment. There were clear instructions as to entry and car parking and entry to the apartment was via the lift from the basement car park. Everything in the apartment was perfect for us with comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms, and full facilities. Lovely private outdoor area with a relaxed ambiance. Certainly the best Airbnb we have stayed in and worth every penny!

Definitely recommend staying here, we will be rebooking in the future
