Holiday rentals in Lavaca County

Peaceful and private getaway perfect for ringing in my girlfriend’s 30th birthday and leaving work stress behind for the weekend. We loved the quiet in the country, walking the property, the hot tub, sitting on the porch, having s’mores by the fire pit, and literally everything else about this place. The cabin is bigger than the pictures make it seem. Great size for the two of us. Mary is amazing- she left decorations, cupcakes, and champagne to celebrate my girlfriend. As awesome as a time as we had, our dogs had an even better time. The cabin and property were so dog friendly. Our dogs ran and roamed non stop. We felt bad bringing them home to our small yard haha. We can’t wait until our next booking!

Our stay at the Cottage was wonderful. We needed to get out of the city chaos for a night and this was just what we needed. On the night we arrived, we made a small fire in the fire ring outside the cottage and made smores. In the morning, we made breakfast with farm fresh eggs from the farm, and the family introduced us to the farm animals which our toddler loved. The location is quiet and remote while still within a short drive of necessities in Weimer or Columbus. Just keep an eye out for deer on the road! 100% would stay again!

We absolutely love our stay! We came because we needed a place to stay close by for my grandmothers funeral, and this was the perfect space! It was quiet, peaceful, and absolutely stunning! Next time we’d like to come back under happier circumstances, but we loved the beauty and location of it all! Thank you, Mary Beth!

Marty & James were amazing hosts. Their place was a perfect spot for my family and I to stay and my kids had the most wonderful time looking at the farm animals, playing with their dogs, and just taking the chance to meet/connect with new people. They were fantastic hosts that went the extra effort to make our stay memorable and my kids are already asking when we can return. 10/10 would recommend this place.

This is my third time staying at Kalas, and it was just as amazing as always! Each visit surpasses the last, with the perfect combination of comfort and hospitality. The property is always spotless and well-equipped, making it feel like a true home away from home. The atmosphere is inviting, and Kala continues to impress with her attention to detail and warm welcome. I loved exploring the area again, and I can't wait for my next visit! Highly recommend!

This is a very nicely renovated classic 19th century house, with beautiful rooms, high ceilings, traditionally appointed country kitchen, and very comfortable beds. We were in town for a small family reunion with my brother and wife who live locally, and it was wonderful for preparing an elaborate meal for 6 one evening, for all of us. A great place to hang out.
