This cosy apartment in Koolunga House was the perfect home-from-home for 5-weeks during a local work placement. The location was ideal, far enough away from the business of Great Yarmouth, but close to local shops, food spots and a walk along the river to Gorleston's lovely sandy beach and cliffs - great for coffee and dog spotting! The house has endless character and the balcony was a dreamy escape - both during the day overlooking the lush garden and dragonflies, and in the evenings for spotting stars and fireworks in the distance. The owners and house manager were a message away and really helpful. I would absolutely stay at Koolunga House again if I’m ever back in the area.✨

Modern chalet with everything we needed. So many little touches that we weren't expecting, a very nice welcome pack, lots of tea and coffee, salt and pepper loo rolls, etc. It was cold and wet for most of the time we were there but the chalet was warm and cosy. Big enclosed decking area for our dogs. Will be looking to book again.

Great experience, we loved our stay. there are 5 bell tents and a couple of lodges within walking distance of each other. Each site is far enough away from each other to feel private but also close enough to have a bit of a community feel to it. The communal kitchen is more than equipped, we brought far too much with us "just in case"! Lewis was often around if needed and was very responsive with any queries. We would highly recommend. Beautiful space with a quality finish and lots of thoughtful aspects. Beyond our expectations and was lucky to be able to check in a little earlier too. Will not hesitate to recommend and would love to return. Plenty to do in the area and considerate, welcoming hosts. Thanks for a lovely stay.

This is such a wonderful place for a winter retreat away from it all. The view across the tree's, fields and river was simply breath taking especially on a frosty morning. The accommodation is warm, welcoming and comfortable. Despite the cold temperatures outside, it was snuggly inside and I rarely needed the ample additional heating options. The gorgeous reclining leather sofa was so comfortable I couldn't stay awake on it! And the bed with snuggly duvet was just heaven. The kitchen is well equipped and the shelf of books and dvd's ideal for inside relaxation. There was also heaps of info about the surrounding area and I had a great scrambled egg and avo breakfast at nearby The Dove when I left. Lawrie is very responsive, friendly, helpful and accommodating - he even gave a little lesson in star and planet names as it was such a clear night. My only disappointment was that I hadn't booked a longer stay - so I've booked another one already!

We’ve just arrived home after a 2 night stay at James’s place. Very comfortable and well equipped. James kindly let us check in early as it was cleaned and ready for us. Nice and quiet area and lovely warm indoor pool. There is a pub opposite where everyone was very friendly and darts and pool is free. We had fish and chips delivered from Oulton Road fish and chip shop and they were amazing. I would recommend and definitely stay again.

What a magical place! A delightful chalet on stilts moments from the beach across your own garden and down a few steps and the waves await. A quirky home from home which has a vintage feel cosy and comfortable plenty of space for large families and very well equipped. The location is so peaceful with only the soothing sounds of the waves- and seals bobbing around. The village of Thorpeness is lovely totally recommend the Emporium for vintage finds and the Thorpeness Kitchen amazing homemade food vegan and vegetarian choices are delicious and the biggest scones! Easy walk along beach to Aldeburgh for amazing Fish and Chips a great place .

What a beautiful place! A group of the girls got together for my 40th, and we had such a lovely time. A couple of things came up, but things that Lee was so quick to respond to, where possible. We didn’t use the games, or TVs, but they have a great selection of games & a TV in each room. We loved the jukebox & the open layout of the downstairs kitchen/diner/lounge. The place feels very tucked away, whilst also being very central, which is great. The welcome wine & snacks were a lovely touch. Thank you!

Thank you Lauren, the cottage was an amazing bolt hole to stay whilst we attended my aunts funeral. Sadly we saw little of Gorleston but after the funeral we walked round to the High Street for a lovely meal and had the joy of the wood burner that evening to warm us up when we got back to Marthas cottage. Highly recommended as a winter break location

We really loved our stay, over Christmas. The place is even better than it looked in them photos and we had a very comfortable stay. We really appreciated the Christmas tree too! That was a very thoughtful touch.

Fab stay at Alicia's place. A unique and spacious cottage in a beautiful location. We loved the peace and quiet and hired paddle boards from Alicia to explore the river that runs just across the meadow. Everything you need has been thought of which was really welcome when travelling with children. We visit relatives a lot in Norfolk and this is one of the best places we have stayed.

Immaculately clean (and I clean houses for a living) and well appointed property. Well stocked kitchen with tea/coffee/sugar available on arrival. Host was extremely helpful and responsive. Beds were super comfy and towels provided. If you have younger children, there is everything you need, travel cot, highchair, box of toys. Position is lovely over looking the harbour with a 5 min walk to the beach and plenty of parking. It is however a modern terrace and so noise from neighbours is heard easily, even just walking up and down stairs. Thought it worth mentioning in case you wanted a super quiet escape. Also the configuration of the rooms didn’t work so well for us so thought it worth mentioning. The shower room/toilet is off the dining room/3rd bedroom. So if using this as a bedroom as we did for my 16 year old the shower room is inaccessible if they are still sleeping. The 2nd toilet is on the 2nd floor and bath in the bedroom as shown. Would t stop us staying again but good to know

We loved staying at Verity’s beautiful apartment by the river. Verity was lovely and kind. The apartment is exactly how it looks in the photos. We didn’t use the sauna but would like to come back in the summer and sit on the lovely veranda watching the river go by. We will use it then. We 100% recommend Verity’s apartment. Thank you Verity.

A lot of care and thought has gone into setting up this place. Well equipped kitchen, toys and boards games for children of various ages (ours were especially delighted by the giant box of Lego and the star projector), tasteful decor and views from the windows. You can see the beach from the windows - it was that close! Also many other less crowded beaches within 15-30 minutes drive nearby. We were very impressed and had a very comfortable stay. Emma was friendly and helped us with parking and check in. Thank you Emma!

Very central location for all amenities and attractions. Clean and modern accommodation, great for a weekend away.

We booked sea mist for the weekend . We reversed onto the allotted parking space easily and went through the black featheredged gate onto the pathed garden, i don't miss much and am a great believer of if the outside is tidy which it certainly was,then 90% of the time the inside will be to, i wasn't wrong. You enter into the lobby which had ample coat hooks and a thoughtful tray to place sandy/muddy shoes. The bathroom ,shower and toilet immediately to your left in immaculate condition. Round to the right of the lobb is the kitchen dinner leading on to the comfy sofa and wall mounted T.V. The crockery, cutlery and utensils all clean and very well equipped, back out of the kitchen and to your right is the large bedroom containing a very comfortable double bed which the host had made up with winter duvet ect, very toasty and appreciated. There is ample storage for items and clothing ,the accommodation is well lit and and has an abundance of electricity sockets, trust me this is 100%

Home from a wonderful weekend away. The apartment was perfect, everything was so carefully thought out, providing everything we needed, clean and with touches of luxury! Great location, close to local amenities yet peaceful and lots to do! Friendly, welcoming host and the staff in the pub were so welcoming and helpful too. We’ll certainly be back! Thank you !x

It’s okay to pull right up and unload all of your stuff right in front of the iron gate. It’s a pretty melow and sleepy seaside yown concerning such matters. Host said up to ten minutes parking there should be okay. Note that the road that the apartment entrance is located on is a single-lane “alleyway” and easy to pass right by. Comingbfrom Sainsburys and heading down Nicholas Road, it is the small street just before the light at Regent Street. You can ise the Just Park app to park at Sainsburys cheaply, but recommend parking at the southern edge of the parking lot in some of the wider family spaces. I got a major ding on the side of my car from parking in the busier section of the parking lot for several days.
