We had a fabulous stay! The view over Sigiriya Rock is spectacular and we loved being able to cool off in the pool. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Our host was very friendly and responsive. We would definitely recommend this place!

This property is absolutely stunning, the photos don't do it justice. Shenal was incredibly responsive and provided clear instructions for getting there and checking in. Would recommend staying at least a couple nights to fully enjoy this place

Went here to record a podcast about birdwatching. The episode is now 16 hours long. Also, there was a chameleon. It shape shifted in front of our eyes, and whilst beholding that magic, we turned our day to day stress into the wonder of our surroundings and the serenity this place beholds. Personnel was amazing. The best we’ve ever experienced. We felt sad to leave. The owners, a very nice couple, were so helpful, no high end star hotel can match that.

It's difficult to find words to explain how amazing our experience in Chamila's place was. We haven't been received as guests, we felt more like a part of the family. Chamila is very hospitable, polite and humble and she, together with the whole family, including Snowy and Scooby, made us feel welcomed, we learned a lot about Sri Lanka, we ate amazing food (!) prepared by her mother and Elena even had a chance to try on one of Chamila's beautiful saris. Not to mention that she helped us to arrange all the trips in the area (and there's much to see - Dambulla is exactly in the middle of the "cultural triangle") and that we received parting gifts which will make us remember the visit when we're back home (we would anyway!). I've been staying in hundreds of places over the years and this is definitely on my personal top three list. If you're reading this, stop looking for different accommodation. You've just found what you wanted and you will never forget this place afterwards.

The Balumgala estate was the highlight of our stay in Sri Lanka. From the peaceful surroundings, to the tranquil environment, tasteful furnishings and comfortable beds, the large and well-equipped kitchen, the walawwa style architecture, everything was perfect. Our host, Sandun was always available on Whatsaap to sort out either the wifi connectivity or the TV connection, which was not initially working. The staff at the property did everything to accommodate our needs for meals or recreation, and Siva deserves all the compliments that he has received in the other reviews. He is very polite, caring, thoughtful and an incredible cook!! We stayed here for two nights during the annual Avurudu with a family of five and we would come back any day for another memorable holiday at the picturesque Balumgala estate.

We had a brilliant stay at Sanaka’s! An authentic gentlemen, beautiful house and fantastic surroundings. At the doorstep of the knuckles national park. Kumari’s cooking and hospitality was the icing on cake! We asked for vegan food and were extremely happy! To sum up amazing hospitality and surroundings. Would recommend to anyone and will stay here again next visit.

I've traveled to many countries, but this wonderful house, located in this wonderful landscape, was by far the most beautiful place I've ever been able to stay! Sajiith and his wife are so warm, accommodating and radiant hosts that there is no question for us to come back😊. Be sure to join the cooking demonstration. It was indescribably beautiful to see how traditional cooking is done and above all it was super delicious!! Thank you very much for this unforgettable holiday! 🥰

We enjoyed our 3 nights stay at Peter’s cabin. It gave us a wilderness feel without really being in the wild. The cabin is in the village very near the tourist town centre. The space is as the photos. The cabin was clean. The bed was comfortable enough for us. It can get warm in the day but the ceiling fan on full blast helps. Lion’s rock can be seen clearly from the cabin. Although Peter was not there, he was a great host who was friendly, responsive and made every effort to ensure we had a nice stay.

Accom is as described - basic amenities provided, hairdryer on request. My friends and I enjoyed the padi field view right in front of our rooms. Sigiriya rock fortress can be seen from the lake which is a short walk away from the accom. Hospitable host; refreshing fruit juice was provided on arrival and departure. We wanted to catch the sunset after we arrived, and the host arranged for her son to guide us to the water tank to catch the beautiful sunset. We enjoyed the nature walk to the water tank a lot. Food is awesome, recommended to try their local meal!
