Matera is an amazing place with interesting history. Paola’s home is in the historic part of the city and would be difficult to find if it wasn’t for Paola’s clear instructions. The home is beautiful, well equipped, and close to churches, places of interest and restaurants, yet private and quiet. There was some music from a nearby venue on Saturday night however it was a long weekend, the music finished by midnight and it didn’t disturb our sleep. Paola was very helpful and responsive, and provided us with local recommendations. We would highly recommend Paola’s home.

We had a fantastic stay at Melograno! The place is located in the centre of Matera which was very convenient for my elderly parents. The accommodation has an amazing view of Matera, is beautifully decorated and it is exactly how is shown on the photos. Anna is a great host very responsive and helpful. If you are visiting Matera and want to be in the center of the Sassi, this location is ideal. The space is clean, beautiful and well appointed. The bed is very comfortable and the shower is hot and powerful. The kitchen is well stocked and Giuseppe left us snacks and beverages to welcome us. Note: Follow Giuseppe’s instructions on how to arrive at the apartment. GPS will get you there but on a much more difficult route to traverse with luggage.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Pietro and Valeria’s Airbnb in Matera! The apartment was spotless and beautifully decorated, with such thoughtful attention to detail that made us feel right at home. They even left us a generous selection of treats, which was such a sweet touch! The location couldn’t have been better—right in the heart of Matera, making it easy to explore this stunning city. Pietro and Valeria were kind and attentive hosts, ensuring everything was perfect for our stay. Highly recommend this gem of a place to anyone visiting Matera!

Wonderful experience! Apartment was well appointed, host provided wonderful snacks and anything you might have forgotten at home! You are in the center of everything and he has great recommendations for where to go and places to eat. You have a beautiful view from the balcony of Sassi. He was very helpful with parking since we had our car, it was included in the stay, as well as breakfast in a cafe around the corner. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks for everything!

Roberto's apartment is a true find in Matera. In fact, it is one of the top Airbnb's that I have ever stayed in. Roberto himself could not have been more responsive and helpful. He was flexible regarding our check-in time, welcomed us in person, provided thorough instructions about the apartment, and gave us excellent restaurant recommendations. The location is superb, directly adjacent to the historic center. Everything is walkable. The apartment itself is beautifully appointed and well-equipped. Roberto even provides a complete continental breakfast. If Matera is on your itinerary, don't miss the opportunity to stay at this five-star apartment!

Four of us came to see our grandparents village: for our first time visit Miglionico was charming and told us enough of what we wanted to know. But the village and the location is just so beautiful. I am selfishly grateful that it is not so touristy and that people make me use Italian. I always felt safe. I expect to return again hopefully with my daughter and hopefully to Grazia’s accommodation.

Petra’s place was fabulous and Petra is a welcoming host who makes you feel at home. From her gentle and caring welcome when you arrive to her authentic best wishes when you leave she is the consummate host. This is an accommodation where I felt at home for 3 nights and 4 days. There were plenty of kitchen utensils, and the bathroom was very clean. They even prepared enough fruit and water coffee sweets, so I enjoyed it during my stay.
