Holiday rentals with lake access in Merthyr Tydfil County Borough

Christian & Jennie's place was awesome, very spacious, and well equipped (including some great tech). They communicated excellently and offered fantastic flexibility which was very much appreciated. It didn't feel like we were staying in an Airbnb, but instead at a friend's house which certainly heightened the experience. Would absolutely recommend. Thank you!

A beautiful home in a beautiful surrounding. Very private yet close to amenities and within easy reach of the city centre. Spotlessly clean, excellently equipped, and very pleasant.

Fantastic stay - not only a unique location with great surrounding landscapes but also cozy and comfortable - we had a great time and would absolutely go back again!

The Barn is a beautifully laid out, well-appointed accomodation in a lovely location. It suited us - two families with grown children - very well, having four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a large living area with table for puzzles, large couches and TV. From the doorstep you can take walks around the larger estate, down to the lake or up the hill to catch the views. And it is well-placed as a base to spend a day hiking in the mountains (we enjoyed traversing Pen-y-Fan on a bright and extremely frosty day) or visiting nearby towns such as the delightful Hay-on-Wye. Sally and Hugh were friendly and helpful - many thanks!

We had a wonderful couple of nights staying with Kathy in her beautiful home! She was an incredibly welcoming and gracious host, very helpful with information about things to do around Cardiff and the surrounding areas as well as the public transport options, and was great to chat with. Her home is beautiful, the room was bright and comfortable, and we had a great bathroom to ourselves with both a shower and a delightfully spacious bath. Convenient enough to Cardiff central for us to come and go when we needed to the days that we were staying, and the nearby Lake Spice restaurant was not only some of the best Indian food I've had but was remarkably cheap to boot. Would absolutely stay here again, highly recommend. :)

A beautiful place in a gorgeous location. Ty Gwilym is a well-thought out barn conversion which had everything we needed, was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The arrival instructions were clear, as were the instructions for everything inside the barn and the local recommendations. We enjoyed wondering down to the village shop/cafe and the local pub where everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We would certainly recommend Jamie’s place to others.

I loved everything about this place, the bed was very comfy and the location was perfect. The bath and shower are wonderful and so is the soap and shower gel and linens available. I loved the eco friendly toilet paper too. Two points to note: there was no chopping board I could see? Fortunately most of my food was already prepared so it was not a big deal. And I believe it is the hot water tank that makes a noise intermittently? So, if you're a light sleeper like me, you'll need ear plugs despite being in very quiet and peaceful countryside. I loved my stay here it was very special and I would stay again when visiting the brecons!

Beautiful home away from the hustle and bustle of downtown yet very convenient location for taking the train. The back yard was especially nice for relaxing.

Best Place Ever Apartment exceeds the pictures in all ways. Most gorgeous AirBnB I have been to in my life. Host Guy is the sweetest, most helpful man. Make sure you walk to the beach and check the surrounding beacons for a hike.

We stayed here for our wedding night. Absolutely beautiful accommodation, lovely touch of petals on the bed. Grounds were stunning and I even had a cuddle with the resident ginger cat. Would love to stay again.

Nothing but nice things to say about both the accommodations and Gemma’s willingness to be accommodating when my travel plans changed. A quiet spot to recharge and an easy walk to Mermaid Quay and the Millennium Centre. Don’t miss breakfast at The Sultan!

The flat is lovely. The views are stunning and the surrounding area great for walks. If you want peace and tranquility this is the place for you. Mandy is very helpful, and quick to respond. I would recommend staying here.

Kelly is an exceptional host! place is amazing and felt right at home! the stocked fridge is a nice tough and the comfy bed is to die for! stunning location, very peaceful!

Make sure you visit the community centre hall and gift shop, it doesn't look open but it's brilliant inside and it needs all the support it can get. It serves great soups, cakes and coffee and the gift shop has some really well designed things to buy, it would be so sad if it closed so give it all the support you can so that it's there for us all to enjoy when we book this wonderfully located (for peace, quiet and walks) house again.

I stayed here for three nights whilst working in Llandod. My stay was relaxing and peaceful, the apartment was clean and comfy. Spectacular surrounding countryside whilst not feeling totally isolated.

This is a truly beautiful cottage in a wonderful, peaceful location. John was very helpful and there were extra touches to make you feel at home. I would be very happy to return.

Cannot find any fault with the property, host or location. I reached out to Jayne at 8pm the night before intended check in for a super last minute booking and she could not have been nicer, more responsive or helpful. If you are looking for a place to escape to from day to day life without any hustle and bustle, then this is the place for you. Pubs, shop, cafe and easy walking routes on the doorstep along with a secure garden if you are taking any curious pets with you. The property has everything you need and despite being situated directly opposite a pub and a shared driveway with neighbouring properties, the environment was quiet, peaceful and private. Will 100% be making a booking to visit again this year !

Sally's place was ideal for a short winter break. A very well-equipped kitchen. The lounge was very cosy . Riverside location just a short walk to local facilities and places to eat and drink. Our cockapoo was impressed too. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. The patio would be lovely in the summer.

Gorgeous cottage in a really picturesque place. Accommodation has all necessary amenities. Kaye & Richard are lovely hosts - hospitable & knowledgeable. Beautifully scenic walks literally on their doorstep. And it’s just a short drive (20 mins) from the coast where there are some stunning walks. Could have done with a couple more days to explore the area!

The cottage was an excellent base for our hill walks, either direct or following a short drive. The setting was tranquil, with great views of nearby hills. The accommodation was comfortable, homely and all we needed. A real 'find'.
