Holiday rentals in Mickleover

Had a short stay at Barley Croft lodge. Ray was great he rang to check if everything was ok with our lodge and was very polite and helpful. The lodge is in lovely surroundings with lots to do locally. It was ideal for our 1 year old daughter who could wander on the veranda safely and look at the two donkeys in the adjacent field. The lodge has everything you need and is close by the villages of Melbourne and Breedon have places to visit. An all around great experience. Thank you Ray.

Had everything we needed and very clean. Seamless check-in and instructions. Beautiful setting and a perfect location for our Alton Towers Visit the next day, was only a 5 minute drive away.

Our short stay at Fox Cottage was amazing. The property is beautiful, spotless and comfortable. The views are spectacular! Andrew was a great host, very responsive and helpful and we really appreciated the very kind welcome hamper! Loads to do and see and there were even toys for our young son to play with! We loved it so much we’ve booked for next year!

Had a great stay at The Alders there were 6 of us . Had space for both cars… soo close to Alton Towers- we stayed for our daughters 16th Birthday… we grabbed a take out in Cheadle and went to the BullsHead inn a couple of minutes walk from the accommodation- would definitely recommend a stay here

A beautiful cottage, with a charming layout, making the most of the fantastic views. We could have sat watching the views for hours and were only sorry we didn't have more time to enjoy the terrace! It was well appointed and felt very homely. We loved how convenient it was for walking into Matlock Bath (only 5 minutes) with its fish and chip shops, ice cream parlours, amusements and lovely riverside walk and 2 play parks. What a great location for us as a family and it was very handy to be able to leave the car at the house and walk to the cable cars for the Heights of Abraham. We appreciated the milk and tin of chocolate biscuits. One tip for anyone who visits is to park at the top of the house, and not take the car around to the front of the house to save having to reverse up the steep hill as the road at the bottom has now been cordoned off. Surprisingly easy to find, Emily's cottage is a lovely place with beautiful views. It was fully prepared for our arrival. We arrived very late due to delays but the contactless check in was smooth and the lovely hosts stayed in touch all the while. The property sleeps five but it felt cosy for our party of four (2 adults and 2 teenagers), but should be fine for a single family with little ones or couples. The location of the property is really good for walks and close to Thor's cave, but given the terrain the roads are narrow and you wouldn't want to be driving to and fro many times a day. This is true for most areas in the peak district. The was plenty of information available at be the property and the hosts were extremely responsive so guests won't be stuck for anything. All in all, it was a really nice stay!

A perfect little place. It was a shame we couldn't have spent more time there, but we it was more of stop over while we visited Alton Towers. The garden looked gorgeous. A very clean place too! The parking was very straightforward.

What a lovely little cottage, very clean and tidy and well stocked with everything you need in a home away from home. Little touches like the forget me not box and honesty box with holiday essentials should you forget anything (which we did!) was welcomed. Check in and out couldn’t have been easier and the shortbread biacuits and bottle of fizz was a nice touch Beautiful walks literally on the doorstep and easy access to the Tissington trail make this cottage a great place to stay in the Peaks.

Overall it was fantastic and would recommend staying here for the immediate surroundings. We had fantastic weather for April so we could sit out on the patio and enjoy the view and the kids enjoyed the garden which was big enough to play football and rounders in. The only nitpick we had were the towels provided were very hard and scratchy and after using a lovely bath or shower the towels were not nice to use. So maybe bring your own in case they are not replaced soon. Although this did not affect us as the weather was great. If it did rain a lot and you were stuck in the downstairs lounge or dining area has no view of the lovely lake you can see from outside. There are views from upstairs main bedroom windows though.
