Holiday rentals with lake access in New Haven

Johanna’s property was cozy and inviting. The location was secluded and private but easy to access. The thermostat worked well, keeping the house warm during a particularly cold night & the shower was soothing with amazing water pressure. Johanna was extremely kind and responsive, highly recommend!

Olivia was a great host! The house was exactly what was shown in the photos (with the addition of a table tennis board). New Haven is just a few minutes away with lots to do. Definitely recommend this place to stay.

This was a great location for our family of 7. There were enough beds, good amenities, and it was a great location to get down to the Connecticut River. It was centrally located and we were able to explore many cities in CT due to the location. The hosts were extremely responsive and the home was well-maintained.

Lovely spot on a creek with easy (walkable) access to beach, marina and walking trails. Creek is tidal so it’s not useable during low tide, but beautiful. It’s buggy as you’d expect in an area like that. Shops and restaurants aren’t far away - super convenient grocery store, liquor store, etc. Kitchen is nicely set up and fairly well appointed with the basics. Furnishings are comfortable and there’s plenty of space. We were a party of five adults and never felt cramped. Outdoor space is really nice and we enjoyed the fire pit. Host Angela was responsive and helpful. I was grateful for clear instructions for checking in and checking out.

Beautiful accommodations in a very convenient location! Right near the wedding we traveled to attend. We all enjoyed family meals in the spacious dining area and had plenty of room to cook together. Our family loves the out doors and the small pond, abundant trees and fire pit were a real plus! Highly recommend this Airbnb 🤓

Really enjoyed our stay at Tom’s place. The house is so charming, quiet surrounding and very private. It was a perfect place to stay for three of us as a little gate away. When you have any question, Tom gets back to you very quick. Also access to the private lake club across the street was such a bonus. We enjoyed going there, swim, lay on the sandy beach…. Love to come back and stay again. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home.

Great place to stay for a new years celebration with 9 adults and 5 kids! Plenty of room for the children and all the families to stay!

Fun location. My husband saw a deer and her fawn one morning on the back deck! Everything was as listed. Just be aware, they have crystal pieces as decor. They are up on shelves, but if you have curious kids (mine!) they might be tempted to touch them. It wasn't a big deal, just something to be aware of. Overall, a great stay!

I had a great stay! The host was very responsive and helpful throughout my stay. I would definitely recommend this place to others and would love to stay here again in the future.

I was looking for a little peace and tranquility for New Years and this was absolutely perfect. It’s down a pretty big hill, but that really just adds to the feeling of privacy and being really immersed in the scenery. Sleeping in the front room and waking up with the sun beaming in over the lake, there’s really nothing like it. Honestly, this place may have to become a yearly tradition, couldn’t have enjoyed myself more.

Nice Location

We stay at this spot numerous times a year because of how much we loved it the first time back in 2022! Ricky always provides an equipped and clean space close to all our favorites!

Kimberly was a wonderful host. She promptly answered any questions we had concerning the reservation. She made sure our stay was comfortable. She even went above beyond by leaving complimentary snacks.

Was the perfect little get away for us. And it was nice to find a place that accommodated the dogs so well. We appreciated being able to get to places easily but at the same time have a peaceful place to return to.

Had a really wonderful time here for my friends’ trip. Kimberly was a communicative and amazing host, and the cottage was clean and well-stocked. The location is also perfect if you are hoping to enjoy some peace and relaxation, with nearby parks and trails available for exploration.

What a great, cozy stay! Booked this place last minute and I’m so glad we did. Tucked away, but close to a movie theatre and restaurants! Host was responsive when we had questions and overall a 10/10 stay.

Kathy & Richie's cottage was so charming and comfortable and homey. It was the perfect spot for my cousin Rachel and I to stay while we visited some wineries nearby in Wallingford on the CT Wine Trail. We loved watching the boats and fishermen on the water and the sunrise. Kathy had some great recommendations for dining out and we absolutely loved the food and drinks at the Blackbird Tavern down the road. There is a lot more to do in the area which we didn't have time for this trip, but it gives us a great reason to return and stay at Anchor's Away again! I got to meet Richie in person and he was delightful. I hope to meet Kathy next time. Highly recommend this place to stay.

Exactly as described! Definitely a glamping experience since you need to bring all the things you’d bring camping, minus toilet paper. Hosts were very responsive and were able to grant us a late checkout since we arrived late on our first day. The canoe and kayaks were great, grill had propane, and the bed was very comfy. It was easy getting used to no running water. I’d definitely stay again! Just remember to bring paper towels, cups, utensils, dish soap (or use the hand sanitizer provided), etc. Washing dishes was the hardest thing without running water, but we made do easily. Shower was cold but refreshing!

Great location and fantastic view. Loved the private beach nearby. Liked having what we needed for the beach (chairs, blankets, and towels) Kitchen was - equipped. Appreciated that my maltipoo was so welcome. Michelle definitely made you feel at home and very comfortable. Was a fun few days .
