Pet-friendly holiday rentals in North Ayrshire Council

I rented Paul's accommodation for 7 weeks in total and it was lovely, clean and very handy for our tour during their rehearsal period. I shall definitely book again for more rehearsals in Jan/Feb/March 2025. Paul was also very responsive if we needed anything. I would highly recommend this house.

Our New Year week had every possible kind of weather. The cottage was a cosy refuge when the rain and wind were doing their worst. All the facilities were great, comfy bed, well-equipped kitchen, everything just the way you’d expect. Our terrier enjoyed being right beside the sea front. And the sun did shine, too, and we had a sauna and swim in the sea. All outstanding.

The room was clean and the kitchen was big. Worth for Money and great natural location

We rented out jennifers house for a girls family get together. The house was amazing with whatever we needed. Most beds were comfortable except one, where the mattress was quite hard. Jennifer was a great host and very responsive. Pubs, restaurants etc were just a short walk away. Great for a chilled time away.

We had the best time on the Isle of Arran and Kate’s school house was the absolute perfect base. I brought my partner, my parents and our dog and we found everything we could have possibly needed. The beds were so comfy and we were spoiled with the weather. I couldn’t recommend Kate’s place more, and I hope we get to come back again soon!

The place was great. The street is centrally situated, within walking distance to amenities. I loved that there were some items in the cupboard for you to use during you stay.

Perfect for our family trip with real sense of spaciousness yet by no means lacking in soul. Location with its splendid views was ideal and all 3 generations enjoyed saying hello to the young calves; Kate was very helpful and responsive to queries and requests

We had a relaxing stay at this house in Largs. It was the second time we've stayed & we enjoyed it. David was responsive to my messages. I would recommend this property.

I recently enjoyed a weekend stay at Nicola’s caravan in Wemyss Bay with my partner, Lisa, and our dogs. Despite the rainy weather throughout our visit, we made the most of our time and had a fantastic experience. Nicola was incredibly helpful and engaging from the start, ensuring a smooth booking process and providing all necessary information. Upon arrival, we found the caravan spotless and well-maintained, offering a cozy retreat from the rain. Its excellent location provided easy access to local attractions and scenic spots, which we and our dogs thoroughly enjoyed exploring, rain or shine. I highly recommend Nicola’s caravan to anyone seeking a comfortable and welcoming getaway in Wemyss Bay. We will definitely be returning for another stay in the future. 

Everything as described, a good host, Therese gave us information about local bakers and some eating establishments which were excellent. We would certainly go again, the weather was in our favour, which was another bonus

A really lovely caravan, very comfortable, with everything you could need. The kitchen has a great stove and all the small appliances. The lounge is a great place to relax. I loved that there are two bathrooms. There were plenty of pillows, blankets, and the bedding was good. No towels, so bring your own. We did not use any of the facilities on the park as we were travelling around all day. However, the people seemed friendly and the park is well maintained. Could use some trees though. Saltcoats is a lovely place and so are many of the other towns around. We loved our stay and Steven is a great host.

Another great stay in Hazel's caravan, she went above and beyond for this trip as I forgot stuff and had a few mental moments, caravan was clean and lovely as usual, always responds quick, see you again next year hopefully x

We had a wonderful stay at Andrew and Mary's lodge in Wemyss Bay Caravan Park over the Christmas period. The hosts were welcoming and took the time to explain all aspects of the lodge and its facilities upon our arrival, which was much appreciated. The lodge was spotless, modern, and beautifully decorated, with comfortable seating and a great table for our Christmas Dinner which made it feel like a true home away from home. It was warm and exactly as described on Airbnb. The location was perfect for a peaceful family getaway, offering a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a cosy and well-appointed retreat!

It was a really nice place to chill. Personally, Saltcoats didn’t have a lot of what I look for in terms of dining and entertainment . The dogs loved the beaches nearby and because the caravan was so nice I was happy cooking and spending time chilling out there. I couldn’t have asked for more proactive and helpful hosts and they have made my first Airbnb experience a positive one. Thank you Gemma and Guy your place is lovely.

Location, comfort (beds were super comfy) and everything you could need in the accommodation. Communication before and after our stay was perfect, the host provides a folder with useful local knowledge and further information to make your stay pleasurable. Highly recommend thankyou Lesley.

We stayed at Shurig cottage as family of 4 (kids 4 and 2 years) and grandad! The hosts were really helpful with pre trip and during the trip especially with recommendations of things to do and places to eat. The accommodation was spotless and had all amenities needed. We loved the modern cosy cottage feel! The outdoor space was great too! Highlights of the trip included blackwaterfoot beach which was a great sandy beach for the kids and we even had the kayak out too, Mara fish restaurant in Corrie, seals seen on the west coast, hiking to Machrie Moor standing stones and Kings cave! Both Brodrick castle and the Thyme cafe had great outdoor play areas for the kids (we loved the Pide there too)! We also loved Arran butchers and the bakehouse in Blackwaterfoot! Hamilton cottages is a perfect base for these activities and we will hopefully be back soon! Thank you!

A great spot for what we wanted. We were well looked after and made to feel really welcome. Would stay again if we ever venture to Ayrshire again.

A fantastic stay had by two families with young children and dogs. A wonderful property in the most amazing location. We had everything in the house we needed and the kayaks and beach access down the hill was fantastic too. Great communication and information from the host. Thank you.

No complaints at all really. In fact, this was one of our favorite stays from Airbnb - and not just for the fantastic views of Isle of Arran from the property. Being carless, we had no trouble walking there from the ferry port, catching the public bus around the island, and even taking Fisherman's Walk on to hoofing it up to Goat Fell peak and back in time for lunch. The host was responsive and the house well-equipped, and with plenty of resources for visitors on what to see and do. Grocery in very close proximity as well.

The Summer House exceeded our expectations. It is more spacious than it looks on the photos. It is very nicely furnished and decorated and is cosy and warm. Penny has thought of everything to make your stay an enjoyable one . Her directions to get there were easy to follow and she recommended several places for us to visit also with clear directions . Archie, her husband , is also very knowledgeable about the island and is very approachable. All in all, we had a lovely time and would highly recommend a stay at Knockenkelly.

Lovely place to bring our two dogs for an overnight stay and we all felt right at home. Plenty of on street parking near the flat and a very short walk to the promenade. Due to arriving late afternoon we didn’t get to see much more of Troon but we will be back and would recommend Emma’s apartment to anyone visiting the area :)

Stopped here for one night before meeting friends. Liz is lovely and makes you feel completely at home. It’s a lovely studio looking out on to her garden, and though the trains are nearby they don’t affect your enjoyment of the space. The bed is very comfy, you have all you need in the kitchen and bathroom. And there are some very thought out extras - books, eye masks, hot water bottle for colder nights an array of bathroom products etc.

Doonbank Bothy was lovely. Very peaceful surroundings and the river and woodland were beautiful. Chris was super helpful and responsive and we found the place very easily. His scones were warm when we arrived and lovely with a cup of tea after a long journey. We thought the added touch of his honey and Scottish tablet a nice thing to take home with us. Also to note the bed was very comfy like many of the other reviews have said. Thanks Chris. 👍🏻😊
