Pet-friendly holiday rentals in North Uist

Joan was super responsive. Although her instructions were limited to 2 pages, she answered any question I had within minutes. The area is lovely and she recommended The Brewery, which is a great restaurant with a wide selection of beers brewed on the premises. She also recommended a local weaver, which was a highlight of our stay. The house had what we needed. The heating boost was easy to use.

Exceptional house with homely characteristics which enhanced our stay. Superbly equipped in every room with great kitchen utensils and lovely extras such as eggs, coffee, hot chocolate etc. Very central location to explore Portree Would highly recommend this lovely house

I felt right at home here, it was so warm, cosy and comfortable. It was in a good location to explore the island. the front garden was enclosed which was great as i had a dog. Hosts popped round to make sure all was well and gave us good information about the area, places to eat, and things to do etc. I would recommend this property to anyone holidaying on the island.

Easy street parking right in front of house. Quick walk to great coffee shops and restaurants in Portree.

Absolutely beautiful home. Unbelievable location looking out at the pretty harbour. Peaceful but with everything we needed close at hand. Skye is extraordinary. Magical. We loved the Three Chimneys (a special thing) including the one at Talisker (more casual). And Birch was great for coffee. Neist Point, Waternish and Raasay are beautiful in addition to all the well known places. We just had a fantastic time.

Nous avons passé un très bon moment dans la charmante maison d'Ari et Annika ; la déco à la Moonrise Kingdom de Wes Anderson jusque dans les moindres détails et le confort (literie parfaite, cuisine bien équipée, terrasse extérieure...) sont un vrai must. Le pub voisin à 100 mètres est également très sympa et on y mange bien (soupe maison recommandée pour changer du fish and chips) ! De la réservation à notre arrivée, la communication a été très agréable avec Ari et Annika, bienveillants et réactifs... Nous recommandons donc vivement "This must be the place " pour ceux et celles qui souhaitent visiter l'île de Skye tout en profitant d'un endroit "cosy" pour se ressourcer.

We recently stayed at this Airbnb for 5 days with a family of 3 and had a wonderful experience. Spectacular Views: The view from the home was breathtaking, with stunning sunrises and a mystical atmosphere created by the mountains, sea, clouds, and sun. Comfortable Home: The house felt very homey and comfortable, equipped with all the necessary facilities to make our stay enjoyable. Remote Location: The property is quite far from everything, and having a car is essential despite the supposed availability of buses. Hiking Opportunities: There are numerous hikes nearby, with a few trails starting right from the house. Future Visits: I would definitely return if given the opportunity. Cost: The cost was a bit high compared to similar exceptional places we stayed at during our trip to Scotland

Det var helt fantastisk at bo hos Ann. Super lokalt til alle der vil nyde Portree og Isle of Skye. Hvis du har elbil er der ladere i Portree, så det er så nemt. Vi var så heldige med vejret og kunne gå de mest fantastiske vandreture. Vi havde vores hund med, hvilket var intet problem, da haven er hegnet ind:) Vi ville helt klart gerne bo der igen:)

The Old Croft House is amazing and we loved our time there. It's very comfortbale and warm (we were there in deep winter). The views from the extension window are endless and every changing, meaning you could lie there for a week and not be bored! The kitchen is well stocked and easy to use. The whole house is spotless. The sauna is a treat. There are some great walks from the house - stunning cliffs, bring your head for heights. The Cuillins are a drive but so is everywhere from the top of Skye, you're not there for convenience but for 'getting away from it all', which the Old Croft House certainly delivers. We'll hopefully be back!

We had such a lovely stay at Easter Byre. The cottage was beautifully restored and furnished, and very cosy to be in, whilst still being spacious. We arrived quite late, in the dark and John and Jacqueline’s instructions made it easy to find. The fire was going and the cottage was warm and welcoming when we got there. They gave us privacy throughout the stay, but it was really nice to be able to meet them and chat with them on the farm, and learn about life on North Uist. Jacqueline bakes delicious sourdough bread, and delivered some to us every second morning - it was perfect for breakfast. They gave us great recommendations for walks and places to eat. The beaches nearby them are beautiful and lovely to walk - we were very lucky with some sunny days. I can’t recommend this place highly enough - it was the highlight of our Scottish holiday 😊.

This cottage is a wonderful getaway. It is in a peaceful and quiet area by the water but close enough to Castlebay for restaurants etc. We stayed here for a week for our honeymoon and felt right at home. The host was lovely enough to decorate with balloons and “just married” signs, such a nice welcome! Everything was spotless and well stocked. Very comfortable, would definitely stay again :)

Great little house in an absolutely gorgeous location—the perfect base for exploring Uist. Rhonda was an excellent host, regularly contacting us with any updates and ensuring that we had everything we needed. Hope to be back soon!

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour à Altavaig. Le logement est parfaitement pensé pour des vacanciers. Nous étions deux couples avec un enfant et nous étions parfaitement à notre aise. Les instructions étaient claires. Le logement est situé au pied des Quiraing accessibles à pied et la côte aussi est accessible à pied et très belle. Vue imprenable depuis la maison !

Magical! That’s the only truthful way of describing this place. It is extraordinarily beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing. You’ll have world wonders at your door step, but you might just want to stay and enjoy the place given how magical it feels. If that was not good enough, Kathryn and Angus are the most lovely and generous host you can ever get, making you feel right at home in their beautiful forest. I’ll be coming back as long as I can!!!

Stunning property, with everything we could ask for! Hot tub had amazing views and was a peaceful escape from the more “ touristy” parts of Skye. The honeymoon hamper was an extra special touch and we can’t wait to return in years to come . Thank you both so much!

The assistance from Deenie from booking to the day we left was 1st class, our family went over the new year period & it was just perfect start to finish. Really peaceful with incredible views of the surrounding areas. I would highly recommend this place. Northern lights shone over the property on New Year’s Day (perfect) was added bonus we didn’t expect. We will be back 100%, already thinking about our next visit.

We had a wonderful time in stunning Harris made all the better by staying in Deenie’s lovely cottage! We found it extremely clean on arrival and all well laid out. The views on to the bay were striking and the colours seemed to change all the time - no TV needed, just look out the window! Location was excellent too with only a short drive to some of the most amazing beaches.

Beautiful tucked away cabin. If you want peace and tranquility, this is the place for you. Highly recommend hiring a car so you can get food shopping and also to get to start of walks. Views from the cabin and bird life are fantastic as is sunrise.
