This was such an incredible stay. We loved the farm and so did our dogs. They spent a long weekend off leash romping around with Luke’s very sweet dog and admiring his stunning Percheron and thoroughbred. My husband and I agreed, petting horses is good for the soul. His log cabin was disassembled, re located, and re built by him. He’s adorned it with a selection of antiques and reclaimed pieces that are truly enchanting and create such a fabulously unique atmosphere that was truly one of a kind. Prior to our stay I had read the reviews mentioning he had antiques and asked about local stores. Not only did he make recommendations, he stopped in 3 locations and got cards for us from each and let them know we may stop by prior to our arrival. We are already looking at dates for our next stay. This place is truly a slice of heaven on earth and an ode to unique and wonderful things that have existed in the world long before we existed and a display of creativity and craftsmanship. Gretchen’s place is certainly one of the most well furnished Airbnbs at which I have ever stayed! The place had everything you could need for a lovely visit to Charlottesville or even to work remotely for a couple days! The kitchen was fully stocked with coffee, creamers, snacks, and the bathroom had everything from Q-tips to lots of towels to a hair blow dryer. The location was perfect for our stay for a wedding over the weekend. Gretchen was responsive to any questions or requests and very kind! 100% recommend.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this serene Airbnb in the woods! From start to finish, everything was a breeze. The check-in process was seamless, and the hosts were incredibly welcoming and responsive. The barn house itself was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The surrounding woods provided the perfect backdrop for peaceful mornings and star-filled nights. We especially loved the fire pits and the endless supply of wood—it made for such memorable evenings by the fire! The location struck the perfect balance of feeling secluded yet convenient, with plenty of opportunities to explore the outdoors or just relax and unwind. The extra touches from the hosts, along with their clear communication, made this one of the best stays we’ve ever had. We can’t recommend this place enough and are already looking forward to coming back!

Cannot say enough about the cleanliness of this home. %100 updated! It was probably my favorite place I’ve ever been! I’ve been all over the world! Peaceful, pristine, nothing missing. Pool is spectacular especially at night. Swimming while watching a movie was a huge surprise! It’s rt off the hway, which was also nice. I cannot say enough good about this place. Quiet, private, layout was so accessible and I imagine a family would love this place. I wanted for nothing, I loved the outdoor shower… I never showered inside! Bonus! Towels were perfect! I did not want to go home…and I went alone! It was a very special experience!

This house is in a gorgeous setting with great views. We were greeted by a beautiful horse coming over to check us out as we turned in the driveway. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and spread across 3 levels and above the detached garage which gave an unusually good balance of togetherness and privacy. The kitchen was well equipped. The extra game table in the great room got a lot of use on a frigid winter weekend. The hosts were very responsive and even brought over firewood before our stay when we inquired about where we could purchase. This is very close to towns and wineries but feels bucolic and peaceful. Highly recommend DuCard Winery where we spent a fabulous afternoon hanging out with live music, food, and wine.

A beautiful setting and a well appointed house, perfect for group gatherings. The lake at this end is very peaceful, lots of herons and geese, and the surrounding water and marshes are gorgeous to kayak through. Kitchen has everything you’d need for any range of possible meals. Beds very comfortable, bathrooms spotless and include soap/shampoo dispensers, and we loved having a range of seating areas. The hot tub is a really nice one! A few things that may be useful for future guests to pack or know: the dock and deck have no furniture if you want to pack beach chairs (we did). The water on this side is comparatively shallow but fine to put a pontoon or canoe in. We did wish for screen doors on the many large back doors to enjoy the breeze, but used the screened in porch for that. Don’t forget beach towels! The upstairs living room doesn’t have a TV, though the downstairs one is huge (this was fine for us but others may want to be aware when they pick bedrooms).

We had such a great vacation in Lake Anna. This was the perfect spot; nestled in a cove surrounded by mature trees with a breathtaking view out over the lake. What a beautiful area. Every day we seen deer and bunnies:) Wrap around decks. The layout of this house is amazing for a family- so many cozy spots and comfy lounge furniture. The kitchen is incredible. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean. The house was even decorated with a Christmas tree for us:) Beth was super nice and very responsive with any questions we had. We can't wait to go back.
