Shepherds hut holiday rentals in River Tamar

we had a lovely break at the foxes den shepherds hut . The views are amazing and the area is beautiful . everything was as explained by Viki and it couldn't have ran any smoother. Our Shepherds Hut was Very Clean and beautifully decorated and the Easter Eggs were a lovely touch. We will certainly be back and would reccomend to anyone who wishes to explore the beautiful Devon countryside and Coast line.

Absolutely incredible place. Very peaceful and scenic and provided with everything we could have needed. Wonderful hosts, would love to stay again.

This is a unique place.. you have to like wild and back to basics.. I stayed in the circus trailer. I wasn’t sure what to expect and was worried at first at the slightly tired appearance. But once the fire was lit, the fairy lights were on it was perfect. The most comfortable bed with the greatest view from it. Tea making facility and somewhere to charge my phone. Toilet and shower block were spotless, the shared kitchen and use of fridge and cookers was great. Fire pit and wood supplied and it was the most amazing dark space. The view of the stars, ISS and starlink were the best I’ve ever seen. I stayed here so I could walk the SWCP and it’s a 15-20 min walk to Polperro from the site so it was perfect. I would stay here again. This is definitely a wild, back to basics place to stay but I loved it. Matt was super helpful and responded quickly to any questions.

Last minute Valentine get away with our two dogs. Despite pretty grim weather, you couldn't have wished to be anywhere cosier. Surprisingly spacious and everything you could think of, provided for a weekend away. Basic breakfast foods provided and of course Juliet's famous delicious short bread and doggie welcome treats.Private garden space adjoining a wood and secure field. Dogs roamed and played freely and safety. Bring lots of dog towels if you expect rain. Lovely shower in the cabin. Very well designed compost in a separate cabin. We kept close for dog exercise but there seems plenty of options for walking.. especially to pub...It's between 40 to 50 minute walk away. So many birds. Great little stay. The only issue we had is the google maps took us down a tiny overgrown lane (we thought this was the entrance at first) which wasn't great for the cars. Googles fault 😅. The stay was great. peaceful just what we needed

Lovely weekend away. Beautiful Shepard’s hut. Very peaceful and quiet, out of the way for privacy. Beautiful views. The Alpacca’s were an added bonus to our view and stay. They loved being fed apple by us and one of them liked me so much it kept sneezing all over me 😁 Would definitely return 😁

What an absolutely beautiful place. Really managed to disconnect from the outside world. Owners have thought of absolutely everything. Thank you so much! Highly recommended and will be making sure other members of our families take some time off to go here. Could not have asked for more.

what a fantastic place! the cabin is beautiffuly decorated, squeaky clean and very comfortable, fully equipped with everything you could need. both beds are super comfy. the hot tub and fire pit made evenings an absolute pleasure. it was so quiet and peaceful. lovely walks nearby. highly recommend!

Great place to stay, everything you need for a breakaway. Tucked away in the garden and felt very private. Hot tub is a great added touch for chilling out. Gill communicated well and made sure we had all we needed. A lovely touch with a cream tea and Prosecco on arrival. Teignmouth is a lovely place and had some great walks. Will definitely return

Second time we have stayed at these absolutely beautiful shepherds huts, and what can I say it certainly won’t be the last, Jackson’s mum is an absolute angel that showed us around the beautiful countryside. The kitchen has been newly renovated and it’s stunning and perfect for a cozy weekend getaway, also has the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in, nice warm shower and a fire pit outside. We took our spaniel and the freedom is just what he needs, he enjoyed it just as much as we did. Honestly cannot recommend this place enough, perfect place to switch off and reconnect with nature. Can’t wait to come back, already planning the next trip this way.

Such a great place. The hut is well equipped and very cosy, especially with the fire lit on a damp evening. The views are incredible. The donkey sanctuary next door was an added bonus. Surrounded by nature, we left feeling refreshed and happy. Thank you. We will be back.

A perfect little escape into nature—quiet, peaceful, and a great break from everyday life. The hut was cozy and private, with lovely spots like the Eden Project and charming towns nearby. Will and his family were kind and helpful, always around if needed but respectful of our space. Would definitely recommend!

Anneli was an amazing host. She is very open-hearted, making us feel both welcome and special. She obviously likes people and is keen to make sure everyone has a great time. The Shepherd's hut was decorated for Christmas: little Christmas ornaments and even fairy lights! Also, some Christmassy treats as a welcome gift. The little wood burning stove packs a mighty punch and we were toasty warm all of the time. It will be hard not to talk about our lovely Christmas break to every one we know... I have wanted to stay in a Shepherd's hut for a long time but never expected to feel so comfortable. Many, many thanks to Anneli and to her kind Mum, Valerie,too.

The shepherd’s hut is such a gorgeous little place to stay. It is kitted out really well and the view from the terrace is stunning. The wood burner keeps you warm and the bed is surprisingly comfortable! Will definitely be back the next time we want to go to Woods in Dulverton.

Such a lovely hut for our anniversary. The place itself was so lovely & the owners were incredibly helpful. Such a clean and lovely stay. Would love to have stayed longer and will definitely recommend to a friend!

Would give more stars if I could!! We had enjoyed a perfect stay in Kate’s hut. A beautiful, secluded location with easy parking, it is super tucked away but Kate gave detailed directions and we found it quite easily by following these - definitely listen to her instead of a google maps!! We spent 2 nights at Little Bear with our 2 dogs, who enjoyed it just as much as we did! There was an open field behind the hut for them to play in, and stunning local walks and beaches a short drive away. We enjoyed dinners on the bbq and evenings in the hot tub (wood fired - allow lots of time for it to heat up but keep checking after a few hours so it doesn’t get too hot!) Thank you so much Kate for a lovely stay, we hope to return in the future and will absolutely be recommending to friends and family! Xx

Gorgeous shepherd hut, loved everything about it, beautifully dressed and fitted out, really well organised and clean. It’s in a fabulous location, nice and secluded and really easy to visit Harlyn Bay and Constantine bay. Loved the outside undercover lounge area for a morning cuppa tea in the sunshine. Our stay was perfect! We stayed in the Robins nest, was peaceful, private, clean and beautiful everything you could want for a couples get away! Firepit was amazing, hot tub was easy to heat up and got really hot, bbq was nice and clean! The cabin was perfect everything you need. Cows were lovely to wake up to aswell! Amazing and helpful hosts. Would 100% go back again! Thank you 😊

Wow! What an amazing cabin!! We’ve stayed in a lot of off grid accommodation over the years and this was up there with the best, if not the best!!! Beautiful well thought out cabin in peaceful surroundings. The cabin was equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Warning to others… there is very limited reception. This added to the charm for us as we had some much needed downtime but make sure you download anything you need beforehand. We can’t wait to visit again hopefully to enjoy it in the sunshine!

I brought my partner here for his 28th birthday and we had such a wonderful time. The cabin was as described and more. The attention to detail was everything! Jeni had kindly decorated the inside with a celebration banner and balloons which was a lovely surprise. There were a few snacks and milk in the fridge which was a kind touch. The hot tub had been pre heated before our arrival allowing us to enjoy it straight away. We were super lucky with the weather so enjoyed the gorgeous views all evening. Everything was clean and tidy, a very aesthetic little cabin. True to description, the location is rural however local shops/ a garage were about 15 mins away. We couldn’t have asked for more, this was the perfect getaway. I would definitely recommend and would love to go back.
