Excellent communication with the host. Quick answer and help after we had some problems. Nice and clean. Would definitely recommend! Hands down the most comfortable bed of the entire trip!

Nature Getaway

NigelRating, 5 stars87 months ago
We had a beautifully relaxing and energising couple of days at Tira Ora. The hosts were super lovely, the place was full of rustic charm, animals and birds everywhere. The rooms were comfortable, home-cooked food was delicious, and the place so captivating, we were sorry to have to leave. Great for families, a real natural treat away from it all.

Beach house 4 bdrm - Absolute waterfront! Waikawa

RobertRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We had a wonderful family Christmas holiday by the sea. The location is amazing being on Queen Charlotte Sound with beautiful views across Waikawa and the sea. We went fishing from the jetty and very much appreciated the use of the paddle boards and kayak and hot tub. Its one of those places where you don't feel you need to 'go anywhere' but to just stay and relax which I guess is what holidays are for. It was hard to leave this holiday home

It was a wonderful space with the sea spreading out in front of me. If it was a clear night, I could see countless stars. I would definitely like to stay here again.

*Ngakuta Bay Waterfront* Queen Charlotte Sound

We had a lovely stay at Ben’s summer Bach. Waking up each morning to a view of the bay can’t be beat. The location is close enough to access Picton and Blenheim for restaurants and cafes etc while still feeling secluded and tranquil. Each access to trails and a wonderful place to kayak around. The fenced yard was perfect for my pups as well.

The Beach Apartment

RudyRating, 5 stars4 days ago
This is the second time I have stayed David’s Beach apartment, so that can only mean my previous stay was more than perfect…. Great location, private, quiet, direct and private access to the beach.. only a few km from Picton on foot via a quiet path, close to the popular Snout Track and others. Friendly and welcoming host always reachable if needed. The beach apt is spacious, has all the amenities as listed. And possible to go kayaking in the bay, which I did of course..it’s a bonus….So to me no negative points and ready to book it again next year I hope..

Slice of Paradise, Marlborough Sounds Sunset Bach

Absolutely beautiful spot! Loved watching the stingrays glide past and bioluminescent plankton at night. Like most classic kiwi baches it has some quirks but definitely worth it.

Vintage Caravans by the Sea

MariRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Where do I start! This is possibly one of the most beautiful settings I’ve had the pleasure of staying at. Kerry was extremely responsive and helpful with recommendations for a local walk to a view point which was outstanding!! The accommodation was exceptionally well equipped, games, speaker, bug spray, sea kayaks, anything you could think of! Or just sitting enjoying the view and peaceful sounds of local wildlife. Fresh organic fruit and eggs were a real treat!! I don’t think you’ll find anywhere with a better toilet and shower view. Cannot recommend this place enough!! Thanks again Kerry!!!

Waterfall Bay Boathouse

PhilipRating, 5 stars1 week ago
To say this location is magical is an understatement. Just a superb experience in one of the Sounds' most beautiful locations. The other reviews are accurate in describing the cottage as exceeding expectations. We were lucky with the weather and water temperatures for swimming were perfect, but we could imagine that even on the rainiest of days it would be a place to enjoy, both inside and out. Thanks to the hosts for sharing this place with us, we can't wait to be back.

Idyllic getaway in the Marlborough Sounds

GeraldineRating, 5 stars1 month ago
I cannot recommend Gills properly enough. The house had everything we needed and was well laid out and comfortable. The location and views were exceptional. We had the use of electric bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, table tennis and pool table. The beach is accessed by a private trail leading directly from the house. Gill was so helpful and communicated very well, we felt very welcomed by her. I would definitely return!!

Riki’s place is lovely, right on the water, 2 mins to the high street. Place is huge, much bigger than the photos suggested! The big basket of kids toys was a nice touch. My son played with the trains loads! Really responsive when we messaged. All in all great place!

Simply the best location! Beautiful views across the bay and perfectly situated across the road from the jetty, which has a bench seat to enjoy the sunrise and sunset with a coffee or beer. Halfway situated between Havelock and Picton, and 5 minutes from the start of the Queen Charlotte Track, this is the ideal location for walks and exploring the Sounds. The ideal home away from home

Nydia Bay cottage beside the sea in Pelorus Sound

JanineRating, 5 stars2 days ago
I'm still on a high after the most magical five days of walking, swimming, reading and unplugging! I cannot rate this place highly enough and it provided the perfect get-away from the hurly burly of life. The Nydia Track was explored on a daily basis for hours in every direction, followed by a swim off the pier and then an afternoon of mooching and reading. Rinse and repeat again in the late afternoon. Absolute heaven! Thank you to my lovely hosts, Marty & Sabine. Kaffee und kuchen was an absolute treat on our last afternoon making the whole experience perfect. Now just have to work out what dates we can return next year!

OYSTER BAY Waterfront Retreat @ Marlborough Sounds

StephenRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Amazing spot with beautiful setting. Lots to do and see on the property itself and nearby places to go fishing and skiing/donuting if you have your own boat. Even if wind is up there is always a place to find shelter and Tory channel remains pretty flat water. Wes was a great host and very chill! We would love to return

Had a wonderful stay. It’s a truly stunning spot. Being able to drive to the bach, having a mooring and a sandy beach a few minutes walk away made for a really special family holiday.

Moetapu Bay Bliss - Marlborough Sounds Retreat

LauraRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The perfect family holiday house! We stayed with our two young kids and two sets of grandparents and had plenty of room. Very comfortable house with everything you need, except a dishwasher! A dishwasher would be a great improvement as washing dishes for 8 people by hand three times a day takes a lot of time and work out of your holiday…that’s really the only down side as everything else was absolutely perfect. The location is great, so much to do but for the people that just need a place to relax and do nothing, this is perfect too. The view is stunning from pretty much anywhere in the house. The private beach access is amazing and we enjoyed the kayaks that come with the house. We also enjoyed picking fresh lemons or grapefruits for juicing from the trees in the garden, how lush! Honestly would come again in a flash if I could afford it again! The price for this house is up there and might need reviewing considering the rather dated interior but space and location make it worthwhile.
