Ideal location for everything you want to do in Tongariro National Park. Directly located across from shuttles for the Alpine Crossing which saves you a lot of time. Well appointed home. Responsive host. Would be good to have a few fans for when it is hot in the summer

Roaming Hounds has stunning views of Lake Taupo. The location is perfectly private yet close to town. The kitchen is well-furnished, making cooking and grilling a pleasure. The living room furniture and beds are very comfortable, and the powerful shower is refreshing. Overall, it is a perfect blend of comfort and convenience. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely stay with two couples and a child. it was cosy and the kitchen had everything we needed. there were good heating appliances too and the photos matched the description well. it was good value and would happily recommend to others. thanks Deborah!

The accommodation was amazing for a large group. House has an awesome lay out, super spacious living area and kitchen, comfy beds, and warm and toastie. Bridget’s communication was great at all times, highly recommend to stay here!

This is a very nice home in Ohakune. I think this town is the best area to stay for access to Tongariro as it is a real city with shop, cafes and a grocery store. The house is really well equipped and Eileen was a great host. Definitely recommend it

Great home for families with good sized bedrooms and bathrooms. The living space was very comfortable, and the addition of a range of family boardgames was great. The home is set in a quiet tranquil area overlooking forest/bush which provided lovely walks. Easy 10mins walk to Carrotland which is an an awesome adventure playground and activity area with pump track, bike tracks, playground etc. Our 7yr old loved it. We had some issues with running water when we arrived but Charlotte was super responsive and helpful and it was all resolved within an hour...and Charlotte provided a wee gift basket (nibbles and wine) in acknowledgement of our being slightly put out. Charlotte was very thoughtful and responsive in managing the whole issue. We will absolutely stay again. It was a lovely comfortable home.

We travelled down with my elderly parents and the place was just perfect. Peace and quiet, one level home, my parents sitting outside the deck watching the golfers, big house, plenty of room to move around. Beach and diary 2mins away by car. We stayed for 2 days and everyone loved it especially my elderly parents. So thank you to Vicky and Chelsea. We will definitely be back

Nice stay for our ski trip to Turoa, only 20 mins drive! Although kitchen has got all facilities but we have been dine out for 2 days for the locals tho the kitchen was left as it was. This 2 bedrooms unit with kitchen and bathroom facilities are just good enough for our family of 4! Dion was easy and friendly to communicated. The hot tub next door within less than 1 minutes walk is a great bonus for a full day after ski! Will come back for the next skip season!

Private, warm apartment at the Powderhorn end of town. We were inside for the majority of our two nights in Ohakune due to the weather but we were so comfortable and made use of the fully equipped kitchen. Thanks Dion for your great communication. We would stay again.

Loved our stay here, it was perfect to do the Tongariro Crossing and ease the legs in the hot tub afterwards. The place is clean, well equipped, quiet and overall feels like a home from home. The complimentary fresh bread, milk and butter were greatly appreciated and the host Richard was warm and friendly without being overbearing. Overall would highly recommend to everyone!

Good base for Tongariro NP, with large, well furnished common area with duplicated kitchen facilities, in a quiet area (and so a couple of minutes walk from restaurants.) We had a pleasant stay as we were the only guests, with nobody staying in the other 2 bedrooms.

We were a group of five and had a great time in the apartment. The living room was spacious, well equipped and super clean. Next pick-up point for the tongariro crossing is just a one minute walk away.

Alison and Ron were so kind and friendly. The space was very comfortable, especially the beds. Nice little bathrooms attached to each room as well!

Excellent location to get some sleep and sort our things before doing a 3-day canoe trip. I wish I could have stayed longer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Such a large beautiful house in a great location, with stunning views of the lake, heaps of parking and Tara made us feel right at home. Kids loved the place and did not want to leave. Every amenity you can think of was thought of, a home away from home. Thankyou Tara

Sylvie’s house is simply spectacular - from the amazing view to the well furnished and designed house with full kitchen facilities - and it gave our vacation a relaxed but luxurious beach vibe. The property is well located being situated in a gated community with easy access to walking trails and to the water. I highly recommend this place for families looking for comfortable lodgings near lake Taupo.
