Holiday rentals in Rum Island

Although I am personally not a country girl by any stretch of the imagination, my boyfriend ( whose birthday we were celebrating), loves this type of rural, private, ranch setting, so it really fit the bill. We appreciated the space, loved all the antiques furnishing the home, it was very comfortable in every room, yet had modern amenities like tv/movie channels, updated kitchen and baths, etc. The whole place was so peaceful and relaxing, from the back porch with rockers and small table for breakfast, to the long winding road with the horses behind the fence. Very unlike any other Airbnb we have tried before ( usually in a coastal setting) but we really enjoyed. The town of Micanopy was quaint and we loved visiting the antique and art shops there. We are not foodies, so were not bothered by lack of restaurants nearby and went to Gainesville for the birthday celebration to a wonderful steakhouse. All in all, a good choice for us… glad we made it.

I had a great time at this cabin! It’s small but super comfy and clean. The forest around it is beautiful, and the whole experience was so relaxing, especially cooking with wood. I even asked if I could put up a decoration outside for a proposal and they allowed me to. The staff was super friendly and paid attention to all the little details like when I was running out of fire starter kit. Highly recommend!

We greatly enjoyed our stay. The home has great outdoor spaces including a second level screened in porch..the inside is comfortable with everything you need, and the additional tree house space worked well for our 4th person. We loved the profusion of trees and birds in the yard and neighborhood, and the private parks on the rivers were an awesome benefit. And you can’t get much closer to Ichetucknee and OLeno is very close too. We loved our stay!

We loved our stay at William's home. William was very accommodating and was excellent with communicating. We needed a place big enough to house our out-of-town relatives for a funeral. Having many rooms/bathrooms with alot of options helped make the funeral arrangements run very smoothly. This home is located in a very tranquil location and I would love to go back some day to really enjoy the lake access. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the big kitchen in this home. Thank You William for having us.

Very nice, clean, private and peaceful cabin surrounded by a beautiful nature .The best part is private access to Santa Fe river and you can also walk to 2 small springs- Mermaid and Jonathan Spring (just follow the path to the left from the back of the cabin upstream the river). Also Rum Island Spring right next to the property is great for swimming and Gilchrist Blue spring is a short distance paddling down the river. We enjoyed our stay and we will be back again.

Me and my husband had a great honeymoon here was so close to the springs and so cute and comfy! Definitely plan on returning soon🥰

My family and I came to this home for a relaxing family vacation, and it completely exceeded our expectations. The house is wonderfully cozy, the porch is beautiful, and the property has so much room for fun outdoor activities. The dock is huge, and simply fabulous; we kayaked daily, fished, dipped our toes in, and simply savored the views. We look forward to coming back.

A magical time on the River at one of my favorite homes! This was our second time staying here and loved it again!

My husband took a week long cave diving course and decided to stay in a house as opposed to hotel. He found the property to be just what he needed, it was clean, private, centrally located to everything (groceries, restaurants, and the caves). It sort of felt like a home away from home after long days of diving. He would definitely recommend this place to anyone that was interested.
