Helga and Mario have a beautiful clean place with incredible views of the Douro River Valley. We had great instructions to get to the home and how to get in with a keyless code. It was raining and cold so we were soaked getting the gate open and getting suitcases inside. There’s a fireplace in the living area and I asked Helga if we could get firewood and within minutes someone arrived with wood and he even built us a fire. When I made my reservation, I mentioned that I needed a haircut/ pedicure and Helga made me an appointment with Sonia in the next village of Tabuaço for the day after we arrived, that was wonderful service and kind of her. I was very pleased. Helga gave very good information on things to do in the area and places to eat. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have had while traveling. Everything was clean and as stated in the listing. The bedroom and bathroom are upstairs if that is an issue but we were told this before we booked. Thanks for a lovely stay.

we had a lovely weekend at Virginia's apartment the apartment is beautiful. very clean. in addition we had very nice touches like small sweets. moreover the robes as well as the slippers are a very pleasant attention that gives a plus to this apartment the aloe vera bedding is exceptional. we slept great

We were a group of 3. We travel a lot and we really appreciated all of the thoughtful touches at Ana's place! We drove from Porto and arrived early and Ana was very flexible about allowing us to leave our bags earlier than the check in time. Of the Airbnbs in Portugal, this was our favorite. Do not expect modern decorations but you can count on many comforts that other Airbnbs do not have. Not only is fresh bread delivered each morning but Ana also stocked her kitchen with fresh fruit, milk, juice, sugar, honey, jams, plenty of coffee pods, and she stocked the refrigerator with cheese, eggs, beer, a bottle of wine. The place is very spacious and could have comfortably accommodated more than 3 people. There are cosy bathrobes in the closets, an extra blanket, slippers and plenty of outlets in the bedroom. The bed was very comfortable and the balcony is so lovely and peaceful. If you come to Pinhao, I highly recommend Ana's place!

Gratitude to Jet and Ronald for envisioning and maintaing this beautiful property. I just checked out today but I already feel like coming back. I enjoyed the garden and the view of the garden the most. Pictures don’t do justice to the place. The kitchen was also quite well equipped. The light filled glass walled bathroom was another highlight. The sleepy village in which this property is housed is also an interesting place to explore. There is a bar which was quite lively and we enjoyed having a cervesa with local folks. Just a warning: there is no shop there so if you want supplies please get them before / you can always drive to the nearest town. Same with food, best to make plans to cook or drive somewhere. Anyway, you can always ask Jet for recommendations or help. She is quite responsive. We also got a chance to enjoy a lovely 3 course dinner with wine hosted by them. It was an amazing evening with interesting conversations. I would love to come back here again.

Our stay at Lugar das Letras was nothing short of magical. This beautifully restored house, once an old school, offers breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards—a true feast for the eyes. The rooms and bedrooms were incredibly comfortable, thoughtfully designed to make us feel at home. But what made our experience truly unforgettable were Carla and Paula, the two wonderful ladies who took care of every detail. Every morning, they prepared a memorable breakfast for our entire family, filled with warmth and care. Their kindness and hospitality turned our stay into a dream. We can’t wait to return to this little slice of paradise in the Douro Valley. Highly recommended!

Unique property, fun location with great views, easy walk to restaurants and quintas around Pinhao, lots of space, enjoyed all of the breakfast items. Host was very friendly. We all want to come back in the summer!
