private room balcony with spice garden

LiamRating, 5 stars2 days ago
Nine Arches Spice Garden was an unforgettable stay. The property itself is stunning, with a lush spice garden right on-site that made the whole place feel so peaceful and special. We stayed in both rooms at the property: This room had a balcony over looking the fields! The other room had an incredible a high ceiling triangle-shaped window that perfectly framed the sunrise. Waking up to that view was something we’ll never forget. The location was also great. Town was just a short 10-minute TukTuk ride away. Attractions like Little Adam’s Peak and the Nine Arches Bridge were also close by. Our host was amazing. So kind and helpful. He arranged all of our transportation, which made everything super easy for us. We also signed up for the Sri Lankan cooking class, and it was such a cool experience to learn about the local food. We absolutely loved our stay and would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

Solitary Resort Ella

Dileepa and his father were so welcoming and helpful and even offered us tea with cake on arrival. Dileepa was very responsive and gave us lots of recommendations. The view from the balcony is amazing and you can watch the various birds and monkeys. The breakfast portions are very generous and you get a nice variety of stuff. Dileepa kindly let us check-out late so we could squeeze in a walk before leaving as we were a little unlucky with the rain and he even helped us turn our TukTuk around. The room is a quick Tuktuk ride to Ella town and you could even walk if you wanted. Thank you for our great stay, we loved it!

A villa in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka

KomalRating, 5 stars2 months ago
The house was very beautiful, amazing views of the lake Gregory, mountains and perfect spot to view sea plane landing. Our family loved it. Kitchen could be equipped more with spoons, utensils etc. Pradeep and his Mom were very helpful. Bathroom could be more clean and glass doors need to be revamped as the water came out while taking shower. Perfect house for our Christmas gateway. Thanks.

Cecilia Cottage

We had a lovely stay at Sharmini’s place! She is a fantastic host, helping us to organise transport, preparing breakfasts and even dinner for us too. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the water is the hottest we have had in Sri Lanka! The location is within a 15 minute walk to town, or a quick tuk tuk ride. We loved our stay with Sharmini and will always be grateful for her kindness and hospitality.

Bungalow in the Clouds

What an adventure. We were a group of friends with people of all ages and everyone loved the space. It’s not a child friendly place but kids (and everyone else) loved the surroundings, birds and views. We hiked to the neighboring hill and were rewarded with amazing views. The hosts are very attentive and dealt with any issues proactively. It’s not an easy location but one worth making the effort to get to. The house is beautiful and rustic. An outdoor bathroom isn’t the most practical but somehow adds to the house and we can see how it would be great on the summer. The kitchen had everything we needed, we cooked all our meals with ease, and the local housekeeper is perfect if you prefer not to cook, in fact having her cook for you is a great way of empowering her to create a better life for herself and her family. Jody and Punyaka were always responsive and we hope to have the chance to visit again, it’s not an experience we will easily forget! Don’t miss Diyaluma falls (take swimsuit).

Amado Homestay(Triple Room)

SulRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
What a view! So the location is on top of a hill, 30 mins walk up or 5 mins by tuktuk. there are few restaurants down the swirling path to the centre of the city BUT breakfast is included with accomodation and meals are available to order. Home cooked foods are always the best in my opinion if you're after that authentic taste. Let me say the view from the balcony whilst having breakfast is a memory you'll burn into your brains. Yes it's a bit of a tough climb to the top and then a staircase to your room but you'll remember this moment and view forever! Watching the sunrise over the forest is a sight to see with a cup of brew. The place is run as a family business and they are the superb with their hospitality and comms. The room is spacious as well as the bathroom. The room is equipped with a fan to stay cool and have a desk indoors and a large table on your balcony to eat for a family of 4 easily. Highly recommend

It was more than fantastic! We felt so welcomed and taken care off, words can’t describe. We came through New Years Eve and were invited to a small get together they had with some friends and it turned out to be a lovely and interesting evening….. The breakfast Ruwanthi prepares fresh every day is the best we have had in Sri Lanka and more than enough, as is the rest she prepares. Everything is extremely tasteful and delicious. Watch out for her homemade baguette, this gets you addicted:) Michael always looks after you with great conversations and sights you might wanna see… For us this is really a hidden gem and a full 10 out of 10!
