You’ll love my place because of the location, mountain charm, & cleanliness. The home is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). Herb's House is pet-friendly, but we prefer well-behaved pets. There is a basement apartment below this home.

Welcome home! You get the entire upper, main floor. Owners live in walkout lower level, ready to respond to your every need. Great neighborhood for long walks. Nearby are grocery stores, restaurants, urgent care, fast food. 8 minutes to downtown Morganton, 1 hour to Asheville and Blue Ridge Parkway, 40 minutes to Blowing Rock, 30 minutes to Hickory, 4.5 hours to the ocean. A beautiful place for the outdoor lover or App State Mountaineer fan, come fall asleep to the sounds of a creek running past the house. Secluded & private, our mountain retreat is just a short walk to Elk Knob State Park & only ~15 minutes from downtown Boone. It's accessible year-round, though you may need all-wheel/4-wheel drive during the winter months if there is snow or freezing weather. The road is plowed, but some parts are steep & can be slippery.

Let our cozy cottage be your home-base for all your mountain adventures. For mtn biking, you will be minutes away from the trails at Lees-McRae College as well as the bike parks at Sugar and Beech Mountains during the summer. In the winter, you'll have several skiing and snow tubing options within a few miles as we are within 10-15 minutes to Beech or Sugar. Wildcat lake is at the bottom of our street. Bring your fishing gear or kayaks/stand-up boards!
