Apartment holiday rentals in Shiga

Felt like a home away from home. The location is perfect, central to everything but quiet and peaceful. Walking distance to great food spots, grocery stores, bath houses, and super accessible to all the sites in Kyoto and public transportation. The inn has a communal vibe, so you have access to a well-stocked big open kitchen with free tea service, and dining area which makes it feel like family at meal times. The heat, water pressure, and wifi worked perfectly. Free access to bikes. Safe and private for solo female travelers like myself. There's even an area with free second-hand clothing in case you need an extra layer. Everyone respects the quiet of the building so it doesn't feel like loud hostel situation. Tadashi was lovely, the perfect host in all the ways- good-humored, helpful, kind, responsive, warm. I can't say enough good things about my stay. I only hope that I can return again very soon.

This was a fantastic place to stay during our road trip. Felt comfy, peaceful and safe. Included car space too which was super helpful. Will stay again if we find ourselves in the area.

This was such an amazing place to stay. Right next door to a beautiful temple and within a short walk to the geisha district and the Nishiki Market. The inside was beautifully renovated and it was right above a convenience store and next door to a wonderful little Teppanyaki place. The train station was a 7 minute walk and that will take you any where you want to go. I cannot recommend it highly enough, a wonderful stay!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Yoshimi, l'appartement est confortable pour deux personnes et idéalement situé. Le rapport qualité-prix est très bon et Yoshimi est très agréable. Je recommande vivement ce logement pour un séjour à Kyoto.

nice host, provided some cup noodles and local dessert as gift on the first day. This place stood out better than other places I have been before, have amenities that even exceed a normal hotel standards, have small packets of soap, comb, face towels etc etc. endless list

Our second time staying here and will come back again. Naoko is very kind, generous, hospitable, and helpful. The apartment is clean and comfortable and in the location that's not overwhelmed by seasonal tourists. We feel very much at home here.

The home was clean a good size for our party of 6. The washing machine/dryer was convenient. It was a great location, close to bus and trains. The river around the corner is a nice place to go for a run. Only thing is that there were not a lot of places to eat close by that could accommodate our group of 6. We would stay again!

What a fabulous little place - a nice mix of traditional and modern. Lovely bedding, small lounge and kitchen - everything that you need in the kitchen. The bathroom was great - we used the wooden bath every night. Having an extra toilet is very convenient. The whole place is very clean. Walking distance to a station and bus stop. Little tricky to find for some taxis but we always made it home. Easy to communicate with the hosts. Would highly recommend this place.

It was just perfect. The area was lively during the day and then quiet again in the evening. There are two train stations right next door, which makes you very flexible and means you can get into the city quickly. You should be aware that there is a railway crossing nearby that makes a bit of noise, but that wasn't so bad for me. If I lived in Kyoto, I would definitely be very happy living in this apartment. If I come back to Kyoto, I will book the same apartment again.

Eri-san was really helpful and checked in to make sure everything was comfortable. The area is close by the station while also being far enough from all the chaos of tourists. Although there are tracks nearby, the train passes smoothly without disturbance. It also makes for comfortavle viewing if you enjoy watching trains passing by. There is also a wonderful view of the river from the area which at night illuminates the sky and lighting along the way. The space is good and the surroundings are peaceful, I would like to stay again. Be aware though that due to Kyoto's accomadation tax, it will be 200円 a night extra. That unfortunately is out of the control of the owner and is more so on the local government. Aside from that one drawback, I can definitely reccomend for the stay. Aside from other places that offer a stay and the room feeling stale, the room decor is cozy and feels lively. Full marks for the wonderful space and area. For hosting us, Thank you.

Posto tranquillo e un po' piccolo per 2 persone con le valigie, eravamo stati avvertiti subito comunque quindi nessun problema. C'è tutto il necessario e la proprietaria ci ha accolto personalmente e spiegato ogni cosa. Molto simpatica e gentile.

Great place in the heart of kyoto! Walking distance from station and great restaurants as well as a beautiful temple. Place was very clean and comfortable. Check in was easy and smooth. Very responsive and even accommodated late check out! They gave us free drinks in the fridge too!

This place was perfect for my family! We were nervous initially because it was on a higher floor but there was a small elevator that fit three adults and two small umbrella strollers. Just barely but we made it in one elevator to. The tatami beds were so comfortable and perfect for our two toddlers! The amenities provided were so thoughtful, the slippers, washing machine, paper towels and hand towels in the kitchen were lovely to have! The bathtub was beautiful!!! Wonderful stay with extremely helpful host! Luggage transfer to the Airbnb was seamless and Yoshimi helped us with an issue we were having. Lovely to meet her at the Airbnb in person. The place itself is great walking distance to Nishiki market and other delicious restaurants. Loved staying here. Thank you so much!

Loved staying here, Taiyo’s family was so friendly and sweet. Was very helpful and I was also able to luggage forward to my next hotel as she called Yamato transport so they could pick up my luggage. Room was very spacious and had everything I needed. Would highly recommend and next time I’m in Kyoto I would definitely stay here again!!

The location of this stay was perfect, within walking distance of many of Kyotos must-see places and great restaurants. The apartment was small (like most Japanese apartments), but incredible value for the price. Taiyo was helpful and responsive.

Sehr freundliche und aufgeschlossene Begrüssung und Verabschiedung beim Check-In/Check-Out. Bei Fragen auch immer erreichbar und hilfreich, auch mit Fotos. Das Zimmer war klein, aber fein. Es war niedlich eingerichtet und gab alles, was man brauchen könnte/angegeben ist. Alles war sauber und sonst hätte es auch selbst Putzutensilien gehabt. Die Matratze, die sie uns noch bereitgestellt hat für den Boden, war fast ein bisschen dünn, aber ausreichend. Man könnte sich nicht mehr wünschen, würde es sofort wieder buchen, wenn ich wieder nach Kyoto gehe :)

We had a wonderful stay, Seth offered recommendations for the local area and was very responsive to any questions. The house itself was perfect for our stay with older children. The rooftop bath was a beautiful way to finish the day with the Kyoto skyline as my view! Would definitely love to return if we are ever back in Kyoto.

The home was just as described and clean. The location is great, right by the river where we enjoyed morning walks. Close to the train station and easily accessible via taxis as well. Would recommend staying here

We stayed at four airBnb‘s in Japan and all have their good points, but this was by far the best. Located in a quiet suburb so not walking distance to the main sites of Kyoto, but with some lovely sites that we would not have seen otherwise Close by. It was as simple Uber ride or train ride to get into Kyoto for main sightseeing and it was lovely to come home to a quiet un bustling local with a wide choice of excellent restaurants to choose among. The apartment itself is spacious, by far the most spacious we stayed in And it’s part of a an apartment complex which has a small gym. Nori and Fumi even served us breakfast all three days we were there in another upstairs breakfast room. To top it off, they picked this up and dropped us off at this train station three days later. All in all it was a really welcoming and comfortable place to stay, well worth the price we paid
