Family-friendly holiday rentals in Skagafjörður

We love Bjarni's house - it's wonderfully cozy and that's how we felt at home from the first minute. Hot pot and sauna were particularly great (which Bjarni had kindly prepared for us to warm up after whale watching). We will remember the conversations and connections with Bjarni and other nice guests. Great place - we would have liked to have stayed longer!

We loved staying in Daníels cabin! He is an incredible host, friendly and helpful and welcoming. We felt comfortable and welcome from the start and he provided us with anything we needed. The cabin itself was very warm, spacious and had everything we needed and more. There were beautiful big windows all throughout the place where we could gaze outside at the stars and northern lights. We also enjoyed the hot tub outside and the sauna, and the location was peaceful. The perfect getaway!

A beautiful way to experience North Iceland in winter: from inside a prestine, modern, warm and cozy glass house - with expansive views of the surrounding mountains and valley (and lucky the us, the northern lights). We easily cooked every night in the well stocked kitchen, and enjoyed fires in the stove. The location was 8 minutes from Dalvik for groceries and cafes, and plenty close for us to the towns and wonders North Iceland has to offer. A huge thanks to host Gudrun who immediately, nicely and thoroughly answered so many questions we had before and during the trip; and who fixed an issue we had with a window within hours. Only complaint is that we had to leave too soon. Can't wait to return to this Icelandic paradise.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay in this lovely family home in such a beautiful setting. It was very clean and tidy and Jonas was the perfect host, always attentive to our messages. We would definitely stay here again.

Everything was great! We wish we could spend more time in the house :) The host arranged a hair dryer even though it was raining - I felt bad because she had to walk down for us. Thank you so much!!

This house is the most satisfying room we stayed in around the island, clean, the bedding is white and new, the cooking language and all kinds of utensils are very complete, the room is large, beautiful, and impeccable.The only minor issue, I looked at the host has several properties and we stayed in the house as directed by the host, but as if we were not staying in this room?I was also unclear, anyhow, very much loved it and would stay again.

Great spot, close to cafe and groceries.

The cottage was small and quaint, but it was all my wife and I needed for one night! I don’t think I’d stay here for longer than one night. It is TINY inside, to the point we didn’t even bother taking our luggage inside. If I was in the area and needed a place to rest my head for the night, I’d stay again.

Our stay in Öxnadalur was one of the most impressive we’ve ever had. The house was charming and we felt immediately at home. The surrounding nature and view on the mountains is breathtaking! We spent hours sipping coffee at the fire place, while the wind and snow were howling outside or watching beautiful northern lights right in front of the door. Sif and Oli were always very helpful when we were asking for any help or recommendations. It is definitely worth a visit and a real adventure in winter times.

The place was very cozy and warm. In the kitchen there was everything you need. The view and tranquility are unique.
