Lake house holiday rentals in Smith Mountain Lake

This home was very nice, and the private little beach was perfect for our little kids. Home was clean and we had a great time. Only thing I would want other guest to know is that if you plan on cooking your meals like we did, you want to bring a cutting board and peeling knife with you and maybe some mixing bowls and spices. We managed but I would have brought all that had I known. I would still highly recommend this home.

Caitlin's house was fantastic. We had a wonderful time bringing in the New Year at her place. We would love to come back during the summer to really enjoy the lake! House amenities were great and exceeded our expectation.

It’s the small things that stand out. When a kid forgets their toothbrush and sunscreen having an area stocked with items like that was so thoughtful. I’ve never found an airBNB that was setup so nicely. It was a pleasure staying there.

Really enjoyed our stay! One of the days was rainy and it was still great to just sit and read a book while looking at the lake. The main reason we booked this location was for the sandy beach area, it did not disappoint. Made it very easy to get our dogs in the water. And not have to take them to the park. The hosts were extremely responsive and accommodating. The also returned the dog cleaning fee very quickly which is always appreciated!! The dock is very well positioned for easy in, easy out should you want to rent a boat. The pictures are an accurate representation of the home. Easy to move around and a good seating. The deck is very large and can’t wait to see what they do with the reno in the spring!

Had a wonderful time with the family, Tammy was a great host! Very responsive and communicative. Definitely a better fit for older kids (the hills 🤣), but Tammy had ALL the essentials for babies to be accommodated and right at home! And the littles loved fishing too. It was an excellent spring break for us!

This home and host exceeded all expectations! It is such a “useable” spacious home—we cooked most every night and found the kitchen so well-stocked (with generous snacks and coffee & supplies as well). The large dining table handled our meals AND our board games (house has several). The many windows in living spaces & bedrooms revealed gorgeous views of the pretty lake—sunrises and sunsets were inspirational—and we could easily take walks around the neighborhood for more lake views. Beds and linens & towels were cozy and home was super-duper clean. So many beds! And THREE bathrooms was an amazing bonus to our group of 5 adults. So easy to gather in the living room with two couches complete with chaise features AND two footstools—so relaxing! The island in kitchen was great for spreading out our meals buffet-style. The house stayed cozy & warm during the chilly November weather. Large Closets and dressers abound. Kurt has labeled everything & has supplied about anything you might need!

This is a lovely home on a quiet bay, and in a great location on the lake. Stayed there with my adult children and we had a blast. Plenty of room to spread out, but also great common areas to hang together. Everything was amazing and we will definitely be back!

Kelsey’s listing was perfect for our family’s Thanksgiving gathering. The house had everything we needed with plenty of room for us to kick back, relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. She was very accommodating and even though I had to bother her with some minor issues/questions during the holiday, she responded right away. A wonderful home with beautiful view of the lake and a two level massive back deck to view it from, with the lower level covered. House was very clean. We dealt with a snow storm and power outage while we were there and the staff with Blue Ridge Escapes was very proactive in checking on us and responsive to our questions. 5 stars!

Had a great time here…it’s one of the nicer ones I’ve been to…felt like we were in a post card picture it was so beautiful with the river running through. The host was great too. Would definitely recommend this place.

This place was absolutely worth a weekend with family away from home. Luca was incredibly responsive and went over and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. If you are elderly or have small children, it’s a bit of a climb to get back to the house from the lake, but it helped keep our blood flowing! Lovely place regardless!

If you’re wanting a place to either be alone and unplugged or with your family, this is a great option.

Beautiful home and setting as described. The home is very well equipped. Megan was an excellent communicator. Very nice firepit and Adirondack chairs. Proximity and view to the lake was great. if you are a boater, like to fish and enjoy quiet lake life this is great.

Shady Oaks is located in a quaint development right on the water. It's heavily wooded with lots of shade. The neighborhood is generally quiet and there is a private road that loops down and back. The house is well maintained and features lots of outdoor space to enjoy your stay. Water access is via the dock which also features an elevated deck above the dock. The kids and I spent most of our time at the dock--enjoying the cove by either fishing or kayaking (2 come with the rental). Relaxing on the deck was also great in the evening. We brought our puppy since dogs are allowed (extra $25 per day upto 2 dogs). It was nice to have an enclosed deck off the main level for our puppy to enjoy with us. The beds were very firm memory foam, but comfy. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensil, gadgets, spices, and oils. The location is convenient to the state park (a must), Virginia Dare boat tour, restaurants, and shopping. Overall a good 3-day weekend stay.

Jennifer’s place is such a gem. If you like being on the lake and having all the toys and amenities already taken care of for you then this is your place. I have my own kayaks but it was nice to not to have to worry about bringing them. Kayaks for adults and kids, paddle boat, paddle board, beautiful deck, multiple ladders to get out after swimming. They have board games and a karaoke machine that was so fun. The porch was so nice and relaxing. Better than the pictures. You should stay here.

Alisha and april were great everything was so nice they kept me informed on the issue that we did have and they fixed it very quickly and even gave us a little gift card for our troubles they have everything stocked which was nice to not have to bring pots and pans i would stay again I don't have any complaints

Stayed Tue-Sat of T-giving week. Quiet, clean & comfy, no odors or other negative signs that it is pet friendly. Kitchen is well appointed (blender, toaster oven, air fryer). Great outdoor spaces! Primary bedroom on main level which was great for my elderly mom. Two br & bath down plus rec room. Very relaxing time for us. Va Dare cruise is at the edge of the neighborhood. If it was not closed for the holiday, we would have done that. The National D-Day Memorial is 30 mins drive to Bedford. Check web for ticket price. Very well designed & the 1-hour walking tour was very informative. Convenience store 3 miles - did not go but it looked cute. Dollar General 3x as far. Bring most things. I reported a broken outdoor rocking chair & dislodged bricks at the front steps. Vacasa responded promptly via texr. Never received response to inquiries prior to arrival that I needed before traveling with my mom. Vacasa uses bots. Don't expect flex on check in/out-even if health reasons.

My group really enjoyed staying at here. Sarah is extremely responsive, friendly and communicative. I had no problems getting in touch with her whenever we had small issues or questions and her place is nice and clean. The views here are incredible and the amenities were perfect for my group of young adults.

  Our extended family just enjoyed a fabulous week at The Lake House! The house provided every amenity that you could have wanted and more. They provided beach towels, life jackets, kayaks, etc. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the pots, pans, etc that you could need! With children ranging from ages 4-8 the access to the lake was perfect. It was a quick walk down to the private dock. The kids loved fishing off the dock and caught 100’s of fish while we were there. They spent hours jumping off the dock and swimming in the lake! We loved the screened-in porch for dinner, playing games and you had a gorgeous view of the water as well! The house was secluded enough, but also only 15 mins from the Food Lion grocery store if you needed to run out for a few groceries. We’d absolutely stay at this house again!

Great location and beautiful views of the lake. During the day we took advantage of the boat house/dock and in the evenings we relaxed outside by the fire pit. The house was very roomy with several places to entertain and relax. The property was close to several bars/restaurants and a grocery store. would highly recommend this property for a family vacation

The house and accommodations were everything that were advertised. Lon was easy to communicate with and very responsive to questions. The lake was beautiful and the other boaters were friendly. The close restaurants were a lot of fun and added to the vacationing atmosphere! We will definitely return!

The pictures don't do the house justice - it's huge, new, and beautiful, had all the amenities we needed including the kayaks and paddleboards. The house is right on the lake which is wonderful but it's 25 minutes to the nearest grocery and there wasn't as much in the way of nearby hiking as we expected. But if it's a relaxing lakeside family visit you're looking for, this place is perfect. The host was very responsive and helpful.

This property offers exceptional value and surpasses all expectations. The accommodations are immaculate, spacious, and create a comfortable, home-like atmosphere. You could easily spend an entire week simply enjoying the property, with convenient access to nearby water activities. The owners were highly accommodating and responsive to all requests. It stands out as one of the best properties I have experienced on Airbnb and comes highly recommended for anyone visiting the area. However, a minor recommendation would be to bring additional fans if you are staying during the summer months, as it can be a bit warm for comfortable sleep. This did not significantly impact our stay but is worth noting for future guests.
