Smoking friendly holiday rentals in South Burlington

Sam's place was in the perfect location. Very walkable to everything on Church Street in Burlington and close to stores or whatever else you wanted to do. The place appears to be a remodeled older style building. It has a lot of old house charm and quirks. It is quite lovely in a New England sort of way. It also means it doesn't have any central heat. However, there are two portable electric heaters and a faux gas fireplace that do the trick. Once you get any or all three of these going, the place becomes cozy very quickly and the 11 degree winter nights become a thing of the past. We like to cook and Sam's place is outfitted with all the cooking and kitchen gear you'll need if you want to eat in for the night. We plan to come back and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

This apartment was unlike any we have rented on Airbnb…Rather than a hotel-like stay with sterile, characterless decor, this is someone’s cozy, gently worn home and it oozes with personality. From fun references to Star Trek in the art (which is charmingly displayed throughout) to the commitment to sustainability (reuse of containers and lack of excess in kitchen while retaining sufficient tools to prepare any meal) it felt like we were borrowing a close friend’s place for a week. And like friends would be, the hosts were readily available when we had questions or concerns. As a first floor apartment, it is not pouring with light (close proximity neighboring house, curious upstairs guests, and the location of the first bedroom on the street side warranted having shades down for privacy). However, the yard space made up for this - it is, as described, an oasis. Due to garden, great location and responsive hosts (fixed issues with access & hot water immediately) we would stay again.

We had a great stay! We took the shuttle to the mountain both days, it was a short walk to the Town Hall, then dropped us off at Mac’s across the street after skiing. We loved being in town, lots of shops and restaurants very close. The house was clean and comfortable. Thanks Summer!

Perfect for a weekend in Burlington for an Axe Throwing event! Located within 10 minutes of the venue I was able to bring my dog and take him around the town. Cozy place for 1-2 people plus a pet located very close to downtown and night life!

We rented this Airbnb for different reasons than most, we were looking for a place where my daughter can recover after a major knee surgery. Needed a place with minimal stairs and everything on one level. This place fit perfectly for us. We were able to park in the driveway next to the door, the rooms were large with enough room to get around. If I were to come here to visit Burlington or to go skiing, I would come back here. Other reviews mentioned about the heavy footed tenant upstairs and I did hear the tenant but didn’t think it was noisy at all.

Marcia is an exceptionally welcoming and warm host. We stayed at her place that is a perfect middle point between Sugarbush and Killington to ski both of these resorts. Her cabin is humble and compact but full of characters, stories and necessary amenities (such as W/D). She lives on site but strikes a great balance between being interactive and leaving us privacy. She communicated well and was very kind and accommodating. Most importantly, our pup had amazing play dates for days with her two doggies and kittens, which are all extremely adorable and well-behaved. I think he’s sad to leave his friends and will ask a return at some point.

Fantastic home minutes from downtown Stowe. House is in pristine condition with great amenities and beautiful views. The kitchen had everything we needed and the living spaces were fantastic. We are a family of 6 and there was plenty of space for all of us to spend time together.

Jen and Brett were awesome hosts! Jen was always very responsive and did everything she could to help us during our stay, even coming over very late to help us with the heaters. The place was very quaint and it was great for a long ski weekend with our family.

This is a treasure of a “family reunion” home and a privilege to be allowed to enjoy it. It is like going back in time to your grandparents’ home. Think gold dixie cup dispenser on the bathroom wall and the chrome covered Kleenex box built into the wall. Pictures of all of the kids and grandkids adorn the surfaces and walls. There is a memory wall of hand prints of children who have gone on to have children of their own. It is a very special place. You feel a warm hug when you walk into the door as you are welcomed to the family. Practical tips: If you are arriving in the dark, the house is the 6th one on the right after you turn onto the street. Each room has its own heater thermostat. We found 65 in the bathroom and 60 everywhere else was just right for us. Costco is 30 mins away near Burlington. We loved our 6 day stay for leaf season. October 10-14 was peak leaf season in 2024. We toured the country-side and Montreal too. Enjoy this home that has been enjoyed for 3 generations!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the River Stone Family Lodge! It was such an interesting space, easy to find and close to some lovely walking trails. The secret room was super cool and the hot tub was perfect in the snowy backyard. The rooms were as described and plenty of space for everyone to spread out. My family loved the game room too, we spent most of our time down there, playing pool and cards. Location was also super close to Rikert and the Snow Bowl for outdoor fun. We would definitely recommend!
