The Schoolhouse is exhisite. If you think the photos are good, the space is even more impressive in reality. A perfect place to relax with friends. Every detail has been considered for maximum style and comfort. Pierson was readily available for questions and the house is full of maps and details on local amenities and inspirations. The location is well positioned a short 15 minute walk to a stunning remote beach. Myself and my friends couldn't recommend staying at Tigharry Schoolhouse more!

Stunning location right on the beach with ever changing views. House well provisioned and extremely comfortable so when the Western Isles weather was not playing ball we could just relax in the house, keeping warm with good wifi and enjoy the views. Walks to Vallay Island superb at low tide. Just need Calmac to sort their ferries out!!

Perfect base for a week on Barra. House really well equipped, especially for cooking in the kitchen. Modern Scandi feel to the decor, with powerful hot showers and comfortable beds. We’d definitely stay here again.

This is a really wonderful place to stay in Barra and I would look no further on where to book. Peaceful, quiet, beautiful, just incredible! Michelle is very lovely and kind, very great support and advice to make sure your stay in Barra is grand.

Stayed at Lysbeth’s for three nights when visiting my brother on Uist (didn’t want to spend three nights on the floor in his unheated croft!). It was clean and cosy. Fantastic views from the rooms of the loch and mountains. The perfect place to to stay if you love walking and exploring nature.

I felt right at home here, it was so warm, cosy and comfortable. It was in a good location to explore the island. the front garden was enclosed which was great as i had a dog. Hosts popped round to make sure all was well and gave us good information about the area, places to eat, and things to do etc. I would recommend this property to anyone holidaying on the island.

I love the outer Hebrides and this house was a wee Jewell to spend a glorious 5 days with family and friends. Had everything you need to make it a home from home

This place is in a great location and we passed a quiet week on South Uist. You can do beautiful walks right from the property. However, there were a few major issues as a result of the management co Sykes Holiday Cottages. Had I not had the owner’s number, we would not have been able to check in and stuck outside overnight on a remote island. No check in instructions are provided on the listing and Sykes did not provide them until 24 hours after our check in time. Additionally, Sykes sent an automated message to advising we should review amenities for the cottage as essentials are often not provided. The listing says “no essential amenities” so we prepared accordingly and brought items from the mainland. The cottage is actually well stocked with cooking supplies, pans, towels etc. The listing should be updated to reflect this. We enjoyed our stay in a beautiful location and the owner was very helpful. Sykes should improve their service and update the listing.
