Cabin holiday rentals in St. Louis County

We had a wonderful time swimming, fishing off the dock (caught a nice sized large mouth bass & panfish) and boating. We enjoyed the paddle board, kayak and screened in porch. We used the fire pit one night before the mosquitoes came out. We didn’t use the hot tub. We rented a pontoon from Brett at Island View Resort. He also sold bait, gas and a map of the lake with tips for fishing the lake. We caught crappies, bass, panfish and northern. The bunkhouse was prefect for our two boys. Our daughter enjoyed the loft room. It was nice that there were 2 fans. The kitchen was well equipped and we liked having a large electric skillet. Didn’t use the washing machine except for washing the towels before we checked out. The beds were comfortable. We also liked the large dining room table -used it to play games in the evening. We’d definitely recommend getting peanut butter twists from Pattens restaurant in Orr. It was a very relaxing vacation. We’d definitely rent it again.

This cabin was wonderful. It fulfilled our needs while we were visiting family in the area. Location on the lake provided some beautiful sunsets. The host was great for communication. Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beautifully maintained house with plenty of space. Aaron was an excellent host and was proactive in thinking about what we may need for our week-long stay. The property was lovely and one could see the efforts to maintain the house. We enjoyed the hot tub, sauna and everything working as expected. Sound did travel well in the house so that is one thing to be aware of.

The home was so comfy with thoughtful details to make each area of the home just perfect. We loved all the special decor touches. We went to relax and got that for sure. Deer coming into the yard while we were using the outdoor hot tub was an unexpected delight.

The photos don’t do this location justice! The accommodations were top notch, and Jeanne makes you feel like family! Worth every penny! Will be back again to show more friends and family this amazing place!

The property is as in the photos, very spacious in the inside. Right on the water, only a minute or two from downtown Ely, but worlds away from the City. Nice setting, plenty of room for all in your group. Multiple levels, built to enjoy being on the lake, so many nice touches, and the kitchen is well stocked, with plenty of glasses/plates and everything required to feel at home. Plenty of towels! Hot tub is in a private setting! Second floor is reached by open stairway, includes an open area overlooking first floor, that includes conversation area with futon, and large bedroom with great view of sunrise and attached bathroom with shower and large jetted tub. We were just two, and felt comfortably together, larger groups will not feel crowded, and two cars can park in the garage, and they provide two remote garage door openers, so you do not have to get out of your car to open or close the garage door. Truly is like having your own place in the woods, if you were a millionaire!

We visited in the middle of March. The scenery is stunning. It was only 28 minutes from downtown Duluth and my kids and I were able to take trips to museums and eat at excellent restaurants. We would love to return during the warmer season and experience the lovely beach and clear water. My kids still had a great time adventuring on the shore collecting rocks and admiring the cool ice waves. The house is very cozy with a huge hot tub outside (our favorite). The kitchen had everything we needed and more. Our host was very responsive with any needs that we had. We would love to visit again!

Highly recommend, very peaceful, clean, and fair priced. Beautiful view overlooking the lake. We will be back!!

We loved staying at Samantha's property. Communication was great, the cabin was clean and super cozy and had everything that we needed. This is a little gem up north and we would love to stay here again. The lake is beautiful and the rental comes with kayaks and other water toys. We kayaked to the local restaurant which was easy to get to and a very pretty, short paddle away. We loved sitting by the fire and they had ample firewood provided. Can't say enough about the experience!

We were very pleased with our stay. The cabin is adorable with plenty of space around it. After reading a few reviews about the train tracks being so close I was a little concerned about safety and noise. Once we arrived I noticed that safety was not an issue as a river (stream) is located between the property and the tracks. The train runs through frequently but it didn't have a negative impact on our stay and we live in the country with no trains. Randy was very pleasant to work with and I can't say enough good things about our stay. it was a perfect fit!

This cabin made for a perfect fall weekend girls’ trip. Unfortunately did not get to see the northern lights, but we were able to see lots of stars and in the mornings, there were a couple trumpeter swans that hang out on the lake. The beds were comfortable and rooms were very clean.

It was a very well laid out two bedroom cabin. They provided ample towels, blankets, pillows and everything felt clean and comfortable. Their swing next to the lake was our favorite to watch the sun go down and have coffee in the morning. There is a nice fire ring with plenty of kindling and firewood provided! (So nice). The sauna worked well and was easy to use and warms up really fast. It was a wonderful stay, peaceful, quiet, and it felt private. We will be back for sure!!

Staying here was so peaceful - like stepping into another world where time stood still! My husband and I were amazed at how different the Lakes were for being separated only a small channel at the north side of the cabin. Sunrise over 1 lake was met at Sunset over the other - spectacular! The fire pit was incredible and at night the lakes are as smooth as glass! The outdoor shower was fantastic and there were so many things to do outside from the sauna, canoe, kayak, peddle boat and floaties to all the games and books inside the cabin. Kim was incredibly responsive and we can't wait to go back!

very peaceful get away from the pressures of daily living for our daughter who has a stressful management job. I was the perfect place to enjoy the lake by the fire pit enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Really enjoyed our recent stay at the Chester Slab. It's in a cozy neighborhood up the hill from downtown. As we were interested in seeing UM Duluth, it was a handy location (campus is a 5 minute walk away). The home has great artistic decor - a combo of retro and new touches come together to make this a cozy, appealing, and relaxing space to be in. We sat on the big couch looking out the window at the far-off lake, drinking the awesome coffee provided. Played some records on the record player. We loved local restaurant (15 min walk) Sara's Table, the bakery Positively 3rd Street, and taking a short drive to see Point Park (included driving over the Lift Bridge). A couple of days we travelled up the coast and checked out lakefront parks and hiking trails. Had a nice beer at Superior Brewing. Stephanie was a friendly and responsive host - we hope to return in summertime! PS - the sauna's great too

Such a beautiful lake cabin with so many amenities! Love taking my coffee outdoors by the swing while watching the sunrise, listening to the chirping birds and sound of the water. I saw a woodpecker too! End the day having bonfires as well. Mesmerized just sitting on the couch looking at the panoramic view. So much cheaper than staying in Duluth where we planned most of our vacation and come home to this lake cabin. Enjoyed the patio from above where you can see more of the view of the lake. If only we knew how to kayak and use the boat. My cousin who came to visit truly enjoyed his stay! Host Robyn is ready to answer any question. Place is so clean, simple, organized and equipped. You won’t regret staying here.

If willing to make the drive away from all signs of civilization, whether it be for golfing, skiing, camping, roadtripping or otherwise, Jody’s place will always come out on top. The Bear Den Lodge exceeded all expectations, and had so many fun touches throughout the place in addition to its reliable amenities. My party made use of most offerings such as the screened hut, sauna, grill, large backyard, game room, washer/dryer, and the fancy bath tub! There were hardly any issues, the place was pristinely prepared, welcoming to guests and bears (only fake ones), and secluded. The only problem that occurred was a fire alarm being set off by the grilling we did. Due to the location of the grill, it may be more susceptible to triggering the fire alarm. To combat this, we opened a few windows in the front of the house (away from the grill), and turned on all fans and air control units (which were excellently reliable). In short, tremendous place, and I would certainly revisit!

The location was amazing, 15 yards from a dock. JP was easy to get in contact with for the full duration of the stay. His care and professionalism were unmatched.

This was my first time I rented an Airbnb. The overall experience was wonderful!! I thought the price was very reasonable. The cabin was clean, beds were very comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed, and the wood burning fireplace kept us nice and warm. Definitely a great experience with nothing negative at all to say! I will definitely recommend this cabin to others!! Heather was great and communicated well and all the instructions were very clear.
