Cozy Hostel, A Must stay John was a great host , we first asked him if we were parked correctly and he came out right away to greet us with a warm welcome , and directed us . John was very specific through out the visit with communication. 2nd , once we entered we where able to enjoy the fire pit and made some yummy Carne asada on the grill, after we had scrumptious S’more’s that we where able to share with the kind neighbors. All occupants were so polite and respectful, some rested , others enjoyed views and played on the ping pong table available. 3rd we woke up to a beautiful view of the sparkling lake across from the living room window , had a coffee and breakfast, as a sparkling clean kitchen is provided . Lastly we where so sad to Go , thank you John for being a super host ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️-5 star review -The Dominguez family

Like the name says, it’s a classy place!

I was excited to attend a conference in San Diego, only to find out the hotel was fully booked. I was pleasantly surprised to find THIS GEM! Did I want to stay in a hostel?? I have limited experience with hostels. I traveled through Europe in my youth, and hostels were usually on the travel menu. The other is a movie I watched on an airplane while coincidentally flying to Amsterdam. For reference, I am in my 50s. Most people I saw were in their 20s and 30s. Although a gentleman who checked in after me looked spry, 7 decades. A long staircase from the street opens into a gloriously colorful and airy foyer. There's a game room and lounge with TV, couches, and board games. I saw several people working on their laptops in both rooms. This location offers the traditional shared room and single room options. I opted for the latter. My room was perfect with a desk, comfy bed, and fluffy pillows. This place was safe, well staffed, and nestled in the vibrant Gaslamp District. 2 Thumbs Up!

Great check in experience and overall experience. One thing that would have been helpful would be if the check in person would have let me k who that I could have stored my rolling suitcase in the suitcase closet they had. I don't often stay in hostels and so I didn't really think about my bag not fitting in a locker. More importantly I didn't think about a lock for a locker at all. Maybe add that to the notes (unless I missed it) It made things stressful for me as I was going to be gone all day and I ended up taking most of my belonings with me. I probably should have asked the front desk but I was feeling shy and it was 1100 when I checked in. Otherwise great!

This hostel was the perfect stay for me and my friend. The area it was located in was so close to everything, there’s lots of activities to do. The place was super clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful :) Would definitely book again.

This was my first time ever to stay in a hostel n it was awesomely beyond expectations. Clear instructions on finding the location n checking in. Host is super quick in responding to any question. the dorms are super clean n well maintained. house keeping keeps everything clean. Washrooms r cleaned daily and supplies are refreshed everyday. Facilities as mentioned in the description are available on site and functional. Kitchen super clean and breakfast is complementary with slightly good variations everyday. The building itself is vintage and kept in its original state and the indoor plants makes it more relaxing, breathable and easy on eyes. maybe nobody notice it but I luv plants n I feel more relaxed if there r a few indoor plants. the place itself is a work of art. the colors, the doors n the paintings. the hostel also comes with wending machines so no need to go out for a late night snack. the staff is nice , friendly and super supportive. the living area is loaded with fun.

A great value for staying with a group of people. We had a group of six guys for a retreat/surfing weekend and it was perfect. Clean, organized, and well managed. An ideal location for what we were looking for.

This is an outstanding accomodation and best value for money. The location is brilliant and the hospitality is above and beyond. Kitchen is fully equipped, bathrooms and showers very clean and the people are doing the best they can to accommodate. Thank you very much for having me.

The hostel is a great place to stay for anyone traveling through Cloudcroft. Stephanie is very friendly and does a remarkable job making it a welcoming and comfortable environment.

I loved staying at Stephanie’s hostel! The space is very welcoming and I felt right at home. Clear instructions, clear expectations, clean space, good vibes. The bunks were well thought through with storage, lights, shelf, & hooks. Shared spaces are comfortable. The other guests were friendly & helpful. Stephanie was communicative & checked in along the way. I appreciated the hostel loaning sleds for White Sands. I’d love to stay here in the future when I’m in the area again!
