It is a home surrounded by★ nature.Seasonal insects come out.I don't recommend anyone who doesn't like insects.Camels, mosquitoes, etc. ★There is a limited amount of firewood for the firewood stove that can be given to you.Add 5 bottles of 500 yen. Outdoor activities such as talking, drinking, and fireworks after★ 21:00 are not allowed as it will be a nuisance to the neighborhood. No smoking in the★ room.Please use the outdoor smoking area. I don't have★ gloves, kitchen paper, so please bring your own. About 1 hour by car from downtown Kyoto, about 20 minutes by bus from Azumikawa Station on the JR Kusai Line, about 10 minutes by taxi. It is a quiet place and fully equipped with wifi, so please use it as a workcation. Ideal for those who are thinking of migrating from the center of the city or trying life☆ A BBQ set is also available for rent. If you care about the noise, please enjoy the BBQ with everyone. I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto This house used to be one big guest house, but since this Covid19, I have stopped running the guest house and I started to live here with my wife and 2 kids. However I didn't want to quit so I left the good part. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the concept, The slope in front of the house is hard. There is stairs to go up, check online map before you book.

I would like to introduce to you a house belonged to my aunt “Omine”(pronounced oh-me-nay), which has just been beautifully renovated. My auntie was a noted “Shamisen” guitar player and she appeared in many movies and TV dramas. Now her home and its rooms, where she practiced her “Shamisen”, have been converted for a comfortable stay.

Spacious house with garden, facing a local shrine

Opend in May 2023, YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year. 12 bicycles (inc. those for children) are available. You can visit the Shirahige Shrine, famous for its Torii in the lake, in a 15min by those.

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

Just 5 minutes by walk from subway Imadegawa station. You can stay like you live in Kyoto. We have wooden bath with small garden view. There are wooden deck besides living space, you will have relaxing time at the wooden deck with Japanese traditional style garden "Karesansui "garden view. This house is barrier free. There are distance between Tatami room and wood floor but we can prepare bed at wood floor so I think it is no problem. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
