Family-friendly holiday rentals in Tangiwai

Great to have a massive grass area out the front for lawn games. The big living area, deck and spa pool also nice. Well layed out house for entertaining and relaxing after our running event. Close to the big carrot / park, would be nice for families too.

A great stay! We especially enjoyed the wood fired outdoor tub and seeing the stars at night. It also has a great view of Mt Ngauruhoe.

This is absolutely a very nice and charming place. Its our third time in National Park and if we go again then this is on the top of our list.

Such a beautiful home with lots of character. Perfect spot for a few families and lots of room for the kids to run around outside. We loved our stay and will be back hopefully next snow season 😊

Sylvie’s house was an absolute dream!! Everything from the views, the decor, the location- it was all amazing. There were lots of little touches that made it feel like a really welcoming and comfortable home too (not a soulless holiday let), which made it even more special. Sylvie was incredibly warm, accommodating, and responsive- overall a really lovely host. Thank you for an amazing stay, we really hope to come back one day!

Andy was a very responsive and proactive host which made us feel relaxed and reassured to reach out if needed. The home was as described and suited our needs perfectly. The view was just glorious and the location fantastic!

This is a very nice home in Ohakune. I think this town is the best area to stay for access to Tongariro as it is a real city with shop, cafes and a grocery store. The house is really well equipped and Eileen was a great host. Definitely recommend it

Lovely spacious place with excellent amenities. Handy to the mountain and perfect for our needs. We were here to cycle sections of the Mountains-to-Sea trail. Richard was very flexibile.

Stunning view of Mount Ruapehu as you drive to Ohakune! Great region to explore or rest for the night! Kate has a guestbook with everything you need to know about her place, recommendations of where to eat, and what to explore in the area. We needed a night’s rest before driving to Auckland all the way from Wellington, and I’m glad we chose her place. 5 stars!

Had an amazing stay at this lovely little farm cottage. Stunning views, lovely people and the most amazing food! A perfect place to stay. Highly recommend! We were staying just for the night as we were passing through, but what a place😊especially good was the run that we did in the morning up the hill to get some amazing views of the surrounding area.

We really enjoyed staying at Tracey‘s house which is a great starting point for exploring Tongariro National Park! The house is well equipped and very clean.

Lisa and her place were fantastic, superb location close by shops and the lake with easy off street parking and plenty of space inside and out to enjoy the stay.

Love the Bach in Ohakune, first time staying and my friends loved it, Simon was really great and location is close to town centre. Will definitely come back again one day :)

Trudie was always responsive, flexible with the check-in and check-out, there was fire when we arrived so the cabin was very warm from the beginning, and electrical heaters in the rooms. The place looks a bit old but still cosy and like the photos.

Had a wonderful time! Definitely would stay again. Great hosts!

Great place to stay. Comfortable and well appointed

The space was perfect for the three of us. The location is very quiet, the amenities very good, the beds are comfortable, everything is very clean and tidy. In the garden you can sit nicely. We enjoyed the small breakfast very much. Thanks for the delicious plums. Bronwyn was super friendly and showed us extra fireflies in the area.

Very well located for Tongariro, large accommodation with a washer, a little old-fashioned as mentioned in the description and photos. It was perfect for us!
