House holiday rentals in Valentia Island

From start to finish we loved this place, it was everything and more. The house was spotless and had a vast array of appliances and space. We loved the peaceful nature around it and the view! As it was our first time in Castletownbere we appreciated all the local recommendations and every single person we met was so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend and thank you to John for sharing this gem with us.

Great night away for a family birthday in Kenmare at Peter's place. Lovely house in perfect condition and only a few minutes walk from the town centre where there are plenty nice shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Hotel leisure centre is right nearby too which was free to use, although we didn't get around to it. A slightly earlier check-in was kindly accommodated and was seamless. The only unsual thing was the extra payment of €25 in cash which I had to agree to pay before booking confirmation. I paid that to Kris on arrival. Apparently this is due to it being just a one night stay and it goes to the cleaners. Not a big deal but maybe it could've been included when paying on the app. Overall it didn't take away from what was a great stay in a fine house. I'd have absolutely no hesitation in booking in again when back in Kenmare. Thanks Peter and Kris

Started in Peter's house for one night a couple weekends ago. It was a great place to find, house was spotless and Peter was an excellent host to deal with.

We were a family of 4 adults - a 16 year old and an 8 year old and the house and location were ideal for us as the 2 adults and 2 kids were visiting from Australia. We were able to entertain friends who popped in as there was so much space, well equipped kitchen, huge BBQ etc. We loved this house and would go back. The only negative was the WiFi was not great in the house, but it's also not great reception in the area - so hopefully that will improve. If you were going to work while staying it wouldn't be easy to do so. A great experience was had by all and the highlight was being able to use the pool and leisure centre in Sheen Falls Hotel across the road. Whenever we needed anything Paudie or Kathy were on it immediately.

Great location, really lovely and spacious house - perfect for our two families, great communication with the hosts. Thanks for having us!

This is my second time staying at Birgit’s Airbnb. I wondered how the magic of the first stay could ever be replicated, but it was! The views were still extraordinary and birgit was still so helpful and communicative (and so nice even when I locked myself out at 10 pm!). I’ll be back!

Lovely home in a great location. Walkable to the town via a path right next to the house. Well equipped with all necessary utilities. Very responsive host with easy instructions for accessing the property. Would highly recommend a stay in John’s home in the lovely town of Kenmare.

I would give 11 out of 10 if I could. The home is so stylish and comfortably furnished, and feels very luxurious. Whatever the weather here, the views across the bay were always fabulous and ever changing. I had arrived with high expectations which it totally met and indeed surpassed. Painful to have to leave. The only consolation was to promise ourselves that we would come back again soon.

Had a fantastic stay with a group of friends over the weekend! Views out of this world. So calm, peaceful and relaxing! Incredible for stargazing at night, beautiful view of the Skelligs and Derrynane Bay. Great walks and scenery and friendly locals. Brilliant kayaking experience facilitated by neighbour Noel. Sheila's Cottage is really a gem - tucked away from the main touristic routes it's the old farm house on her property renovated and cozy. We felt very welcome and love our time there! We booked very last minute on the same day - there simply was no time to clean the floors. But everything else, kitchen, bathroom and beds were very clean and comfortable! I absolutely recommend Sheila's cottage if you're looking for some peace and quiet for a family and for a more than fair price.

Visited for three nights. The place was spotless, warm and cosy with lots of heat. It is a lovely, quiet residential area within walking didtance of the town. Alva responded to any queries we had before and during the visit. Would definitely recommend it.

Great house in lovely location

Rosy and Timothy are exceptional hosts! They are very warm, welcoming, and helpful, and the space they provide is beautiful, peaceful, and private with stunning surroundings. They are just minutes away from one of the most beautiful and remote beaches I have ever seen. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Everything was perfect for our family of 7 adults . Stayed two weeks and everything was very convenient and close to town within 10 minutes . Food stores also within walking distance. This was our second time there . We will be back again .

Brilliant property, great location, fab views, well equipped and cosy. We had a great long weekend with my parents in law, was very accessible for my disabled mum in law as there was a fabulous downstairs en-suite bedroom . Anne Marie was so helpful and responded really quickly to any questions we had. We can’t wait to go back again soon.

This house was perfect for our needs. As a large group of adults, the number of en-suite rooms was great. The house had a wonderful large kitchen/living space, perfect for gatherings. The house was warm and beds were comfortable. Barbara was quick to respond and very helpful with our check-in and check-out arrangements. There was plenty of equipment and a well stocked cupboard of herbs and spices and odd bits that you need but don’t want to buy just for a few days. The location was perfect - 10 min walk to the centre of Bantry and the views are amazing from the house (despite the rain). We will definitely be back.

Our stay with Noreen & Mackin was great, start to finish. Very friendly & responsive hosts, they gave us loads of recommendations for things to do, places to eat etc. The accommodation was perfect, very clean & spacious. The location was ideal for travel to Schull, Baltimore ( out to Sherkin Island) , Skibereen, Bantry & more... Thanks so much for everything, we had a lovely stay
