Holiday rentals with a kayak in Vancouver Island

We had a wonderful stay at the forager house! Exactly as pictured in the listing - no frills, but very comfy and met our needs for our trip. We loved going down to the water at low tide to look for creatures and watching for otters in the mornings. We used it as our access point to Olympic National Park and it was perfect!

This place is amazing and the pictures don't do it justice. This Airbnb was heavenly, we enjoyed every little detail. The house was immaculate and well organized. Relaxing in the hot tub was a plus. The bed was very comfortable and the hosts were so polite and gracious. Thank you, Les and Cheryl, for a wonderful and memorable vacation.

We loved this amazing view home in Nanaimo. It is comfortable and extremely clean. Brian is a wonderful host, very welcoming and helpful. He has gone the extra mile to make your stay memorable by having so many extras available for your enjoyment like kayaks, crab traps and even extra shoes! The home has an incredible view and water access that offers a beautiful place to relax each day. We saw orcas, humpbacks, and otters from the deck! My 4 yr old grandson loved watching the ferries and float planes. Nanaimo was so fun. We are planning on coming back and definitely want to stay at this home again.

The house is immense but also cozy at the same time. It’s private but also very close to shops, restaurants, and beaches. It’s very modern but still embodies the Pacific Northwest. It has all the luxuries of a resort but large enough to host 1 or two families. Thanks for the awesome experience.

We had a family gathering for 10 people. The house was warm and friendly and easily accommodated all of us. There were 3 children, 11 to 15. They played badmitten and ran around the 7 acre tract and spent hours at the private beach. San Juan island is one of the most beautiful places on the west coast and this place truly enhanced our visit, I can't say enough good things and highly recommend staying there.

What a perfect place to stay for visiting Olympic National Park and the surroundings! We had easy drives to Hurricane Ridge, the tidepools at Salt Creek, and Sol Duc Falls, and could come back and enjoy the hot tub and fire pit in the evenings. The setup was perfect for two families of four traveling together.

Tim and Patti were great hosts. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return when next on Mayne Island. The space was clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and peaceful. We were wowed by the great views and appreciated being so close to the trails. Thank you for such a relaxing long weekend!

Daphnes place was great for my family. it was an old cottage feel with an amazing view, and an amazing wood fire place. it had everything we needed, town was only a short drive away. Bonus, it had a fabulous swing on the deck to sit and relax and a treager to smoke your favourites! we would definitely recommend and stay again!

Absolutely lovely little cottage, all the amenities of home in a wonderful location. My wife and I felt right at home here. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quaint, quiet place to stay.

we enjoyed our time there so much that we extended our stay an extra day, and almost another day after that, but we needed to go home. The lapping of the waves and the beautiful sunsets are just the peace and tranquility that we needed. We will definitely stay again!

Peaceful place to stay a couple of days for sure. The cottage was cute, well furnished and decorated with some nice touches. This place will have you feeling right at home very quickly. I would stay here again.

If you want a sweet little respite away from the rest of the world, this is an excellent spot. Cottage was squeaky clean and had gorgeous views of both water and mountains. The market was super helpful, and they have a great selection of VHS tapes and DVDs available to borrow for a blast from the past. Truly one of my favorite stays I’ve ever had.

The cabin in the trees is so unique and cozy—definitely our style. We also explored the nearby bays and beaches every day; they were absolutely beautiful and peaceful. If you want a private cottage right on the water - this one is for you! What an amazing location. James' cottage is right on the water and there is a beautiful rocky beach to explore. The cottage is cozy and the kitchen is well stocked. Very private! The views are amazing. We had a chilly afternoon so we spent the day looking out the windows at the view. James was kind enough to let us know when there were whales passing! This is a very special and unique spot - I highly recommend booking!

Had a very peaceful stay at this place with amazing Mt. Baker in backdrop and also got to see the full moon in full glory against the sea water. One could enjoy the sunrise on a clear day which we did and to watch sunset it is a few mins drive and we enjoyed that as well. Overall a clean and cozy place to spend some quiet and peaceful time by the bay.

Great place to stay!

We had a wonderful stay in Harrison's house. It is equipped and prepared to an extremely high standard. I have rarely experienced a kitchen with so many kitchen utensils. Plus the beautiful surroundings right on the beach. Harrison really is a super host! It was a pleasure to talk to him. He brought us fresh eggs in the morning. We have extended our stay and I definitely want to come back. Thank you for everything!!!

Can’t say enough great things about this home. My family really enjoyed our spring break stay on the lake. There were no details missed to having a comfortable stay. The hot tub and sauna were great after a family paddle with the kayaks. There are abundant linens for water activities. We really enjoyed the wood stove inside on the cooler nights. Thanks for the great stay.

Absolutely magical place! We loved the location and the views of the pristine lake. We used the sauna everyday followed by a cold plunge in the lake. It's cold but definitely refreshing and perfect combination with the lakefront sauna. The 4 kayaks were easy to use and launch right in front of the house. The house is spacious, comfortable, and well stocked. The house has good wi-fi but we spent our time cooking on the grill, enjoying the lake, and playing games. Highly recommend this house and the wonderful host Holly. Thank you!
