Holiday rentals with lake access in West Somerset District

We had a wonderful stay at Bridesmere over New Year and it was just what we needed. Peaceful, beautiful area, lovely comfortable home from home. We appreciated the enclosed garden for our spaniel, the beautiful and spacious bedrooms and the living area which was large enough for all 7 of us, two families. WiFi was strong upstairs so no issue with all of us connected and the tv had all apps we needed to watch films with no buffering. There is a beautiful walk through the forest along the river just minutes from the house which leads to a very nice pub serving good food. As other reviews mention, the kids room smells a little musty/damp but this was not a huge issue and we opened the bathroom window after showering which helped. Kitchen well stocked but knives are a little blunt! Children loved the games barn and not having to bring bikes with us was really helpful and appreciated. Overall we couldn’t have asked for a nicer stay and we would definitely return. Thank you for having us.

We choose this house as it had a secure a garden which was great as we have 2 dogs. The house was lovely and clean. The kitchen had all the cooking utensils.

What a comfortable place! It was really well appointed and had everything we needed. Plenty of storage and well equipped kitchen. Wendy is very friendly and helpful too. I especially liked the eco friendly shampoo and conditioner provided (the bottles can be refilled too) and the availability of a compost pot for food waste. We really could have stayed a month if we did not have to get back. The view over the estuary from the bedroom is beautiful and constantly changing with the tide, light and weather. The place is really quiet too, I was concerned that there might be road noise from the nearby bridge but there was remarkably little even when outside the property and none at all inside

A wonderful place to celebrate my twin brother’s 70th birthday. Lovely to visit the beaches, hot tub and relax in front of the wood burner. We had a meal to celebrate in the local, The Crown which we would recommend and Pollyanna was very kind to give us lifts there and the return. The beds were really comfy, showers were just the best and we were really warm. Perfect place for us!

We couldn’t really ask for more. The house suited us perfectly, had a great social space for us to use, house was lovely and meant we could have the family gathering we wanted. It was a great weekend and having the house where it was, like it was, was perfect

We booked this as a special family trip as my sister and her children were visiting from New Zealand, we wanted somewhere memorable and a bit different, Emillies place was certainly that! the photos really don't don't justice, it's a spectacular space and set in beautiful surroundings. The home was well equipped and we all agreed the beds were really comfortable- like being in a boutique hotel! and 3 bathrooms for 5 guests was amazing luxury! We had a little problem while there and Emillie sent someone round immediately to fix it! We were lucky with the weather and ale to explore the grounds and nearby Lyme, but we would have been equally happy being 'rained in' at the home!! We couldn't recommend it more highly to anyone looking for a 'something special' staycation. thanks Emillie.

Badgers House was the perfect venue and location for a large family break. House was well equipped and comfortably furnished. The indoor pool proved a knockout with the children - especially as the weather wasn’t great! The indoor games room was a hit for the male adults, who enjoyed hours of pool, and they hit the gym too. The woodland walk was perfect, we spotted a male deer, the children loved it! Hide and seek in the house was so exciting and kept the little ones entertained for hours! Thank you to Max and Alex for being superb hosts and giving us this beautiful home and setting to enjoy. Our granddaughter broke her heart to have to leave! We will definitely be returning and may need Toad Hall next time for more family members to come along and enjoy the beauty of this peaceful place.

Best Place Ever Apartment exceeds the pictures in all ways. Most gorgeous AirBnB I have been to in my life. Host Guy is the sweetest, most helpful man. Make sure you walk to the beach and check the surrounding beacons for a hike.

We stayed here for our wedding night. Absolutely beautiful accommodation, lovely touch of petals on the bed. Grounds were stunning and I even had a cuddle with the resident ginger cat. Would love to stay again.

Nothing but nice things to say about both the accommodations and Gemma’s willingness to be accommodating when my travel plans changed. A quiet spot to recharge and an easy walk to Mermaid Quay and the Millennium Centre. Don’t miss breakfast at The Sultan!

Amazing location for access to coast path. Apartment had lots of lovely touches like cream tea, decent coffee, log burner, bath soak, lovely towels etc. Would stay again!

Julie's place was exactly as described, clean, ease of access and perfectly situated, julie kept us up to date on information and was always forthcoming when we had queries. A really family friendly place with a great host

What a beautiful little cottage. So many little touches that made our stay more comfortable. The welcome hamper was lovely and milk in the fridge was very appreciated. The birdfeeder was always busy with feathered friends, the squirrel and his acrobatics was a delight and hearing owls hooting throughout the night was an absolute highlight. We loved the cottage and would be very keen to return. It’s the perfect place to switch off for a few days and truly relax.

Once again an amazing stay. The hayloft is a beautiful cottage packed with all you need. Our 1 year old granddaughter came with us this time and she loved it! Everything we needed for her was provided. Thank you

Abby's place truly felt like a home from home the moment we stepped through the door. Only staying here 3 days, was not enough...as there are so many lovely walks, and in the area. The views are absolutely stunning, and i would call this place a real hidden gem. A couple of lovely local pubs in the area, and can recommend the food at The Lord Nelson! We took a drive to Lyme Regis for the day too which is a 40 minute drive away. A beautiful view from the french windows right outside our door of the lilly stream, and a friendly cat that came to hang out with us....not to mention I could have spent 3 days alone wandering around the magical garden! I would love to come back again soon. Thank you to your husband for showing us around and settling us in.

An absolutely wonderful stay at Dairy Cottage. From brilliant and beautiful surroundings to the nicest hosts in Debbie and John. The cupcakes on arrival were amazing and the cottage so cosy and comfy. Had a wonderful time and both of the hosts were so helpful and the walks me and my dogs went on were wonderful! Highly recommend and thank you for having us!

Lovely house with beautiful surroundings and plenty of room for 12 guests. A nice outside area including garden furniture and hot tub, as well as off road parking. Sophie was a fantastic and responsive host. Would definitely look at returning one day.
