Holiday rentals in Yamada, Shimohei District

Enjoyed our stay at Dai’s place. Dai cooked us a full course meal, told us local folklore story and guided us up a local mountain for pristine views. We also really enjoyed sitting in the kotatsu. Would recommend for a unique and authentic local experience.

We had a wonderful stay! Even though we had originally told the host we’d be checking in later, we ended up arriving early—and she was kind enough to come meet us right away after we updated her. She greeted us warmly and gave us a thorough walkthrough of the entire property, explaining everything clearly. The location is absolutely beautiful, with stunning mountain views. We truly loved our stay and definitely plan to come back!

A beautiful and serene place in the countryside where one could hear birds chirping. Akiko was very prompt and responded to us in super fast time. The house was warm, homely and clean and we enjoyed our two night stay very much. Highly recommended

Beautiful house in the field, with a small and intentional courtyard, you can fully enjoy the Japanese house.The internal space is very large, the collapsed rice and the wood floor are clean and warm, the bed set is soft and comfortable, the indoor socks are thoughtfully prepared to keep the indoor sock warm, the children love the bed with the chest of the cabinets, the kitchen bathroom is also convenient for clean use, which is very suitable for family travel!Great hosts too, positive and friendly with information and thoughtful gifts The little ones are so happy!Nice house to stay for a few more days!

Great location, clean, tidy & cosy. Beautiful place with everything you need. Perfect location to stop by if you're just needing a rest for the night but can easily set up here for a few days, it's a beautiful Japanese home and ideal Airbnb. If you're reading this deciding whether to stay, no need to look any further.

A cute and cozy cabin in the woods and a great base for hiking in the Hachimantai area. Bear in mind the air conditioner is only in the living room. If you give it time though it will cool down the entire house.

A rather authentic stay in the traditional house with Japanese futon beds and fully equipped kitchen :) What really stood out was Kiku-san's impeccable hospitality - we had the indoor slippers laid out to welcome us back every single time! To top things off, I had left something behind and Kiku-san went the extra mile to communicate with the receiving hotel so that the receptionist could verify with me even when I had almost forgotten about it myself when I was checking in!

The house was quite big. It is perfect for a family of 4-5. It was a bit too big for just my wife and I, but we really liked it. I also appreciate everything being organized and clean, notably the bathing area was extra squeaky clean. The LDK area is large and open free of unnecessary clutter or furniture. Our dog also enjoyed this area. It was a very nice stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting this area.
