Family-friendly holiday rentals in Acomb

This was our second time at Phils, first time to celebrate my 70th second time for my husbands 75th. When I asked my family where they wanted to celebrate my husbands 75th birthday it was Phils place. Its perfect for our multi-generational family, amples of space and the pool and hot tub are the icing on the cake. We all had the best time and we made lots of memories. Thank you Phil for the use of your lovely home.

What a fab house this is. We stayed for 6 weeks and did not want to leave. Jo was always on hand if we needed anything but the house is so well set up that we rarely did. The location is fab on a quiet back street but a COOP, Indian and nice bar all within a few mins walk. The house is really well presented and has everything you’d need for a short or longer stay. The hot tub is a great addition and the garden feels really private. All the bedrooms are a great size and perfect for couples. I can’t rate this place highly enough! Full 5 stars from us!

We had a great stay at Edward's place. We were a large family group meeting up for New years. The house has lots of character, and is set in beautiful surroundings. The only things I would say that could do with improving would be using one of the rooms as a social space as the kitchen isn't big enough for cooking. eating and socialising. Also, some of the matresses weren't as comfortable as I would hope for which didn't make for a great night's sleep. But overall, it's a lovely house and the host is very welcoming and reaponsive. I would definitely recommend this place for others to stay in.

We have recently returned from staying at this amazing house. Fantastic layout and perfect for a large family or as a group as there are plenty of areas you can go and relax without feeling on top of each other. The garden is huge and clean! It’s enclosed so perfect for dogs. The zip wire was fun , also has a basket ball net and an area for football. The hot tub is amazing ! Initially we expected a very long wait to get it to temperature however we were stunned to find it to temp within an hour and aslong as you keep the lid on after using it then the following day takes about 20 mins to get up and running. The house was spotless, plenty of tvs, Xboxes , Netflix, board games , books the lot. There is no way anybody can complain about what you get with this house. Even including tea,coffee and condiments which is very rare. Beautiful location and an amazing fish and chop shop around the corner. Perfect for visiting York and areas in the northeast. Fantastic stay ,we loved it!

Great find, house was spotless and a lovely quiet area. House was spotlessly clean and hot tub and seating area was a bonus. Uber into York was £6, 10 minute cab. We will definitely return and recommend to friends.

As fabulous as expected. Ideal space for two couples, high spec accommodation with lots of room to relax . The kitchen is small if you intend to self cater but the facilities and equipment are excellent. We spent most of the time sat in the dining room watching the peacocks who wandered up to the window each day to be admired. Played tennis and walked into the nearby village along a public footpath 50 mins to a very good pub ( Dawnay Arms ) and evenings in the hot tub . Thoroughly enjoyed it, the host ( Lucy ) is onsite and is welcoming and supportive with communication without any intrusion . No hesitation recommending.

A lovely lodge in a beautiful and peaceful site. The lodge was well kept and comfortable - we felt right at home straight away. Only regret is not staying longer!

Great accommodation and host

A cosy, secluded woodland setting with good walks straight from the door and the added bonus of horses stabled next door. Even without the unseasonal good weather we would have had a great break.

Our 2nd visit to Pauline and Graham's Airbnb so the draw to return was strong. The moment we pulled into the drive we felt at home straight away. The weather was perfect so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the sounds of the birds whilst having a few beers. The welcome you receive is special and the accommodation is perfect with everything you need for a comfortable few days away. This 2 night break, we visited Rievaulx Abbey and Nunnington Hall both worth a look. The day we left it was interesting watching the bird man ring the various Tits. We look forward to returning again soon.

We love Bevs’ place. We are big fans and keep on returning whenever we are in Yorkshire. Totally recommend. What an amazing view!

Loved our stay here and great for kids. There are some farm animals and plenty of toys which our son played with. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area!

We had a great stay at Roger’s place for a few nights. The location was brilliant only 15 minutes walk into York centre, local shops and takeaways nearby and a nice peaceful street. The house itself is spacious, clean and has all the amenities you could need, with a handy manual available with all the information inside. Whenever we had communication with Roger he was always prompt, helpful and friendly. Would recommend this place to anyone and we would happily stay again!

Had a great visit! Very fortunate for John to be understanding and allow us to film our final student short film. John was always very quick to answer any questions, he was very understanding of filming which is always appreciated. The location was beautiful with some lovely surrounding scenery. Perfect for a peaceful getaway.

We had a fantastic weekend in York staying with Lisa. The flat was in a perfect location for walking into the city with a lovely local pub and shops nearby. Lisa met us on arrival and was very friendly and gave us great recommendations of the local area! Would recommend to anyone 😊

Philippa's place was absolutely ideal for our short Town-break! An easy stroll into the centre with cosy pubs and bars along the way, and a fantastic choice of restaurants in the Town itself!

I can not recommend this wonderful holiday home enough. I don’t think I have ever stayed anywhere that has been as spotlessly clean. The house is beautifully and simply furnished, with everything you need for a few days away. The location was perfect and very quiet considering how closely located it is to the centre of York. Paul and Kerry were so helpful and responsive. Check in was really easy. 10/10 all round!

Darren and Matt were both extremely accommodating and the apartment couldn't have been better. The location was perfect, plenty of space in the apartment and a nice balcony to sit out on as well! If I was to stay in Leeds again, I would 100% book this apartment again.

Peter's townhouse is amazing! One of the best places we've ever stayed. The location could not be better, with Bishy Road just a few steps away. We felt very comfortable letting our teens explore locally. Also, just a 10-15 minute walk to York Town Center. We would live in this neighborhood if we could. The townhouse itself is very comfortable, with 3 bathrooms and lots of room to spread out. We felt right at home. Peter is a proactive and communicative host. The townhouse includes lots of information about fun things to do in York (there are a ton!). We loved our stay in York. Thank you, Peter.

Wonderful place, close to the historic city centre. Such a shame we only spent one night there. Dave was very responsive, friendly and gave us a lot of good tips. Would definite book again

What a wonderful place to stay. Everything was perfect, right from the very clear and responsive communication with Caroline, through to the ease to find/park and get into the property. Once inside it was evident that the place was clean, well maintained and stocked with essentials, located on a quiet road (with own parking space\) a very shot (15 minute) walk into central York. The house was exactly as advertised and was a wonderful place to explore from - our girls loved the small touches around books/games in their room and the open plan living/kitchen and dining space. Their were recommendations and helpful information around for us to review/read, which was very useful. So many nice 'touches' made the whole stay very enjoyable. Thank you, Caroline - we will be back.

Phill’s place in York is lovely. Very comfortable for a small group to stay in York. It’s not a very lively neighbourhood but great for the price and an easy walk or bus ride into town. The place was really clean, everything you could need. The only thing to note is that the stairs in the flat that take you to the bedrooms are very steep which may be an issue for anyone with mobility/vision issues (like my mum, but she was able to sleep downstairs on the fold out sofa so all fine)

Another great stay … accommodation spotless and has everything we needed.
