This home is a spacious converted barn with 2 bedrooms, and kitchen/family room, studio, loft and one bathroom. It is set in the woods just a few miles from Lake Superior. Being off the shore of Lake Superior has it's advantages--it is quieter and at night so dark that if it is clear you can reach out and touch the millions of stars in the sky. The grounds are ample with a large covered patio and fire ring. Reservations less than 2 day prior please message us we will do our best to accommodate.

This off-grid, solar powered hideaway is on the Knife River just a few miles outside of Two Harbors, Minnesota. The cabin itself is loaded with comfort. A full kitchen, propane refrigerator, solar powered lights and a gas fireplace/furnace offer the conveniences of home. There is an outhouse and firewood for the outdoor firepit. You will have to bring your own water for drinking, but we provide hand and dish washing water at the sink. We have coffee with pour over utensils, dishes, spices.

We have had many guests visit the sea caves in Cornucopia, spend the day in Bayfield, or hike the Porcupine Mountains. Locally owned and managed. Our cabin is tucked behind pines right on Highway 63 in Cable. Full off street, private parking w/ room for trailers and toys, plus full locked gear room in basement. Easy walking distance to everything in Cable. It can sleep 5-6, but makes a great space for 2-4. 3 mi from the Birkie start, 2.5 mi from the North End Cabin. ATV & Snowmobile right from the driveway. Full furnace for heat and central air conditioning for those hot summer days!
