Stoneycroft Cottage

DarrenRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Lovely quite place to stay? Friendly host and nice welcome pack on arrival. Comfortable couch and bed. Very spacious downstairs and wheelchair friendly. The vents can be a bit noisy when the wind gets up. Very little light pollution in some directions if you are into star gazing. The drive is spacious .

High Dalton Hall Cottage

JennyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Wow. What a fantastic week staying in a fabulous cottage in glorious North Yorkshire. Elizabeth and Peter were excellent hosts keeping us informed daily on the goings on at their amazing farm. The cottage itself is fully equipped and SO comfortable. Situated in the countryside, but equally not far from historic villages, towns, and landmarks, the cottage itself is home from home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and hope that as a family we will be able to return. Thank you Elizabeth and Peter x

Ivy Cottage, 3 bedrooms with hot tub+games room

JakeRating, 5 stars6 days ago
Jane met us on arrival, explained everything, then left us to chill out. The welcome pack and fresh flowers were a lovely gesture and were much appreciated. The cottage was spotless and felt extremely homely. We very much enjoyed the games room and enclosed hot tub. The garden areas were vast with lots of outdoor furniture. We enjoyed a lovely ice cream at Archers ice cream parlour (10 min walk) and experienced both pubs in nearby Heighington, very friendly, great food and service in the George & Dragon. Another recommendation is the nearby Raby castle, definitely a worthwhile visit. We definitely recommend staying at Ivy cottage and look forward to returning there again. Thank you Jane.

Isla Cottage - A charming and Snug Country Retreat

DanielRating, 5 stars5 days ago
We spent the weekend at Gill’s beautiful cottage and it could not have been any better. The cottage was perfect in every way and we couldn’t have felt anymore at home. The cottage itself was gorgeous and extremely well kept and the views across the fields were stunning. Gill was a great host and went above and beyond to make our trip one to remember. We would recommend this to anyone and were certainly come back again in the future.

Beautiful 5 star 2 bedroom cottage with hot tub.

HelenRating, 5 stars7 months ago
Four of us have just spent 3 nights in Peewit Cottage. From the moment we arrived, we all felt right at home, the place was spotless, beds very comfortable too! Everything you could possibly need for a self catering stay was provided. Having the private hot tub was fabulous, we loved it after full days of being tourists in the local area. On a separate note, we would highly recommend a visit to Beamish Museum which was about a 30 min drive, we also spent a day in Durham City & booked a 2.5 hr History/City Tour with walkaboutdurham - highly recommended. Tour Guide Peter is very knowledgeable & so passionate about his job plus he gives everyone a "free" cocktail voucher for Turtle Bay - well deserved after 2.5hrs walking around the City 🤣🤣

5 Bed in Durham (85257)

JaniceRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The hosts were great at not just providing information but being very responsive to messages and were very friendly and welcoming. The house had everything you could need/want. We didn't need to use the kitchen facilities much in our stay but there was everything you could need there. The welcome pack provided was very much appreciated containing some lovely goodies, especially the coffee from the Durham Coffee company. It was delicious. The beds were super comfy and loved that they provided both a firm & medium pillow to accommodate everyone's preferences. The whole place was really clean & they had really thought about what people would need during a stay. The hot tub was a lovely addition and some of our party took advantage of it. Others liked the fire pit & the hosts even brought round some more logs for us to have a second use of it during our stay. Loved that every room had an ensuite, made things much easier. Loved the Harry Potter room

Entire mews cottage in Kirkby Stephen

KapilRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We had a wonderful stay at Lawrence’s place — perfect for our small family and our dog! The home was incredibly spacious and truly pet-friendly, which made our trip even more enjoyable. The location was fantastic too — just a 5-minute walk to the town centre, where we stumbled upon lively Easter events and a vibrant market. The motor show was definitely a highlight! One special moment was my early morning walk on Easter Sunday — a short 10-minute stroll led me up the hill to the famous bridge near the cricket stadium, where I joined a peaceful 6:00 AM Easter prayer gathering. It was a beautiful and memorable experience. Thank you, Lawrence, for creating such a cosy and welcoming space. It felt like a true home away from home. Small tip: It would be great to list the amenities available in the listing — that would be super helpful for future guests!

Bluebell Cottage - Rural 2-Bedroom w/ Free Parking

SamRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We are just back from a fantastic few days at Bluebell Cottage. The location is great, and the view from the cottage is spectacular. Patrick and his family are great hosts and very welcoming. The sunsets from the cottage are amazing and the environment very tranquil, just what you need when trying to escape busy towns. We were very lucky with the weather which was unusually high for April but the best part of our stay was that it was lambing season and we were fortunate to witness many lambs being born. Kirsty, Rosie and Patrick were very knowledge and brilliant at keeping us involved and updated about the new editions. A really lovely experience and would highly recommend.

Holmlea - A Comfortable and Cosy Cottage For Two.

PaulaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Gorgeous little cottage in a nice village in a brilliant area for walks. The cottage is very well equipped and kitted out. It is characterful and cosy, with quality furniture and decor - bed linen and curtains were all lovely. You can walk from the door or short drive to reservoirs, waterfalls, even a super park run at nearby Hammsterley Forest. Absolutely cannot fault it.

Contemporary Country Cottage

GavRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We stayed at The Bakehouse for a couple of nights as a little birthday celebration for our daughter. It was exactly what we were looking for. It is immaculately well kept and has obviously been renovated with love and attention to detail. It has everything you could need, there was even a special little bag of items for the dog. The cottage is just as described and if anything the rooms were larger than we anticipated. Beds were comfy, everything worked, the bath / shower was always hot and although we had no need of the log burner it was comforting to know it was ready to go. Loads of beautiful local walks and scenery, farm shops abound, and eye tests at Barnard Castle are easily accessible. I would definitely recommend The Bakehouse to friends and we hope to visit again. Thank you so much Sue & Keith.

Village property - Wayside Cottage DH8 9NL

PennyRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Spacious and comfortable cottage ideal for a couple in a pretty village by the moors. We enjoyed visiting the surroundings including the city of Durham and Beamish Open Air Museum as well as castles and countryside. On street parking was no problem as we always parked in front of the cottage.

Tranquil Boltslaw Cottage in Northumberland

JamesRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Nicky was an incredibly helpful host. We broke down on a Sunday evening five miles from the place, and she kindly came to collect my family and luggage whilst the recovery truck towed our car to a garage. Thanks so much! The cottage is cosy and incredibly well-equipped. It is warm with plenty of wood for the stove and has heated blankets and radiators too. The location is very rural but idyllic with great walks on the doorstep. Hexham and Stanhope are well worth a visit, both within easy reach. You can walk to a bus stop half a mile or so away which will take you into Consett, or nearby Blanchland, which is a small and charming place.

Beautifully furnished cottage in a great location.

FrancesRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Two night stay, nice property, clean, comfortable and tidy, good hot shower, comfy bed, good to have (needed) off road parking but a bit tricky getting through the narrow drive entrance due to neighbours parking closed by. We didn't use the cooker or microwave but they looked fine. All positive reviews in the guest book.
