Barn holiday rentals in Dorset

Wonderful host and a wonderful space. Extremely spacious and private, with lovely grounds and a terrific tennis court. We booked a grocery delivery to arrive after we checked in, but it was early and Serena sorted it out and even put everything away, very thoughtful. We booked The Barn after being let down by another property. One of our party uses a wheelchair and whilst The Barn isn’t fully accessible, Serena went through every detail in advance and it enabled us to bring some of our own equipment to ensure the property worked for us. Five Star in every way.

Janey was the perfect host. We arrived a little early and she very flexibly let us check-in, despite having to prepare everything herself as her cleaner was not available. We also arrived a little unprepared and on a Sunday but Janey had left all the essentials we needed to tide us over including a delicious homemade cake, croissants for breakfast the following morning, milk, butter and eggs. The setting is lovely overlooking a very large pond with a lot of visiting geese and ducks. There are little boats and life jackets for children. This is an ideal spot for a family holiday with the fossil beach at Kerridge Bay only an hour away by car and a number of lovely walks on Iron Age hill forts very close by, as well as lovely villages and National Trust properties. We would highly recommend Janey's property for a relaxing, comfortable and homely holiday. I am sure we will be back.

Great, clean apartment in a beautiful and quiet village location with lovely farm animals to meet. Lucy and Roger were great hosts, very friendly, informative and responsive.

We stayed at the lovely converted barn for New Year’s Eve for a family getaway….being 10 of us plus dogs this place suited us perfectly. It was lovely to still have the Christmas tree up and finished the rustic look of the barn off, it was lovely and warm for our evenings sat around the log burner. There is everything you would need for your stay here. David and his wife made us feel very welcome upon arrival and give us lots of tips for places to visit. The barn and the surrounding farm is a beautiful area, with lots of wildlife and lovely views. The tractor ride finished off our stay, David made it so informative and the two toddlers loved it. I would highly recommend doing this if you visit. David couldn’t have been friendlier, he was a great host and we’ll be coming back to stay again, but for longer….hopefully we will be treated to a bottle and a visit next time(David was too tired after his NYE antics) Would highly recommended to anyone wanting to enjoy the countryside.

Incredible location and incredible hosts. James and Emma were so lovely and helpful. The place is straight out of a movie. Can’t recommend it enough, specially for couples looking for a romantic and relaxing getaway.

Fantastic cottage in beautiful surroundings. Jill was a great host and the cottage was well equipped and comfortable. Our children loved the shared garden and the views from the rear of the property are stunning. Seatown is a 15 minute walk away with a beautiful beach and coastal walks. We also enjoyed delicious meals at The Anchor Inn in Seatown. A perfect base to explore the Dorset coast, we would love to stay at Jill’s cottage again.

We had a really wonderful stay at Tor View Cottage. The cottage itself is beautiful with the most stunning outlook. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. The master bedroom is very spacious. There are lots of places to visit nearby. Donna was helpful and friendly in all of our interactions and left us some scrummy scones. All in all, a top choice for a Somerset stay.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Valley View. It's set in gorgeous surroundings and less than ten minutes to lyme regis by car. The property was absolutely spotless and the perfect space for a short break. We stayed for three nights and wished we had booked for longer!

This was an amazing location, loads of great places to visit. The house was really peaceful and clean with great amenities. would recommend!

Incredible place and perfect destination to unwind! Local areas are great and the Wimborne Pig is one of THE best pub restaurants we've been to!

A wonderful spot in south Dorset, central in the Isle of Purbeck and convenient for visiting all the lovely and varied surrounding landscapes. Keith welcomed us warmly and enthusiastically with plenty of trip tips, plus a delicious cream tea and bottle of bubbly to set things off on the right foot. The Little Thatch was very cozy and beautifully restored, much it seems due to Keith's impressive handiwork, and brightened by his arts-and-craft work. We enjoyed mingling with the resident fowl (they seem to love the little pond next to the cottage) and made acquaintance of the peacock and peahen. Plenty of deer also to be seen on the broader site. The location is well off the main road surrounded by woodland at the foot of the Purbeck ridge. It is wonderfully peaceful and comfortable. Can recommend whole-heartedly.

Lovely, relaxing stay in Dorset, very comfortable accommodation, bright and airy rooms, beautifully decorated, had everything we needed. Delicious lemon cake waiting for us and the most comfortable beds. Great outdoor space for our dog to run around and a suntrap patio. Lots of footpaths right from the door. We would definitely come back again.

Me and my partner had such a nice experience staying at this rural getaway. Check in was very easy and Suzanne was very kind to offer an earlier check in so we could make more of a day of our planned break. We loved the homely feel and the beautiful greenery surrounding locally. The showers and bedrooms were clean. The beds and pillows were comfy. Would love to come back and stay for longer next time.

We stayed for two nights while in the area for a friend’s wedding and absolutely loved this beautiful cottage. It’s full of character, with gorgeous natural light, a cosy feel, thoughtful styling, and high-quality fittings throughout. The bed was so comfortable, and the bathroom and kitchen were both beautifully renovated and well-equipped with everything you could need. Laura was very welcoming - she met us on arrival, left some delicious local produce for us, and shared great recommendations for places to eat nearby (breakfast at The Old Dairy was a highlight!). Our stay was peaceful and relaxing, and we’d definitely love to come back. Thank you very much, Laura!

We had a fantastic stay at the Music Barn, stunning house, excellent facilities and extremely cosy, everything we could wish for. A visit to the local Old Diary Cafe is a must - delicious home-made food, exceptional quality and well worth the money. Dan was a fabulous host, very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. Would definitely recommend and would love to return.

The house was stunning and perfect for our family getaway with a lovely communal open plan space but also private space in the bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms and showers which was a huge bonus. The kitchen had everything we needed and we were greeted on arrival by the host. We all had a wonderful stay.

We were looking for a short break during the half term, with lots of indoor and outdoor activities for our kids (10 yrs, 6yrs, 7 months). The indoor heated pool and the activity room were god sent especially because couldn't do a lot of outdoorsy stuff as our little one was under the weather. The living space was spacious and clean and the location was stunning. Great getaway for all of us! Would love to revisit!

Had a short weekend at the flat on this loverly farm. If you want some where to chill and have some peace then this is the place to be. Add the style of the flat inside and out and how helpfull Lucy and her crew are, you the have this perfect place. The correspondence and information on the arrival and departure is first class. There is a nice little pub no more than a five minute drive called The Antelope Inn, very friendly. Thanks again Lucy for a wonderful stay.

So glad we booked to stay at The Stables as it was absolutely perfect for a little family getaway. The property was absolutely spotless, with many handy items in the kitchen, books and games for the children and even garden games too. We loved being situated on a farm and our children were lucky enough to help move the cows across the road to another field! Ava and Chris were really friendly and gave us locations of local shops and attractions. This was the perfect place to stay while visiting attractions in Yeovil and Sherborne and we'd love to stay again. Thank you for a great and memorable trip

We couldn’t fault Eddy & Caroline’s place. Such a beautiful place, so thoughtfully laid out and such attention to detail. The location is perfect as a base to explore the Jurassic coast and the Cider house was so cosy to stay in on the odd rainy day. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Thank you !

The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could possibly want for cooking Accommodation was comfortable and cosy Definitely had a farmhouse vibe and we look forward to returning The Wi-Fi was super slow and only available in the games room. Overall mobile data network in the area wasn’t up to much we tried 3 different networks. There was a issue with the oil heating Which was resolved before we even got there. Outdoor seating & bbq which we used as a fire pit was great too! Top marks. Happy guests
