Bed and breakfast holiday rentals in Essex County

We really enjoyed our stay at this place. We found clear instructions for everything all over the house which we really appreciated. Thomas was nice and responsive. The location is walkable with plenty of restaurants and a nice lake nearby.

Our daughter and our adorable grandkids live in Belmont. We usually stay with them but they had a basement flood and the room we usually use was being repaired. So we looked for someplace close and found Robin’s delightful apartment. Though we chose it for proximity, we couldn’t have been more pleased. It is lovely, quiet, comfortable and trulyfeels like a home, not a rental. We’ve stayed in many rentals over the years, but never before have we found a pantry and refrigerator so well stocked! Robin has obviously put a lot of time, thought and heart into making the apartment a warm and welcoming place to stay. Thank you again, Robin and Jon, for sharing your special home with us.

Sharon was extremely friendly! She went out of her way to find breakfast pastries for my food allergies! Super sweet! Wonderful space, private room and bathroom. We felt very at home and loved the neighborhood. Lovely drive to nearby areas like Newburyport and Salem. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cozy home away from home.

Chris was a great host, and her home was beautiful—I loved all the coastal decor! The room was cozy and the bed was comfortable. She also provided coffee/tea, complete with to-go cups, and snacks for guests. The (rocky) beach access was gorgeous and a great place to have a morning cup of tea. It was only a short, ~10min drive from downtown Marblehead!

Raj and Julia were very welcoming hosts and I had wonderful two weeks stay here. The home is sweet , warm and beautiful. The bedroom is comfortable. Even the kitchen and bathroom are full of sunshine. The house is a very good place to stay in Boston. I had a very good experience here. Highly recommended.

Hope was a great host to us! She greeted us at the door and made us feel truly at home. She was such a pleasure to talk to and she gave us great insight into the area and recommendations for our time in Salem. Her place was super cozy and unique. I would absolutely recommend for any one traveling to Salem to stay with hope!

What a great find! We felt right at home with the warm welcome from innkeeper Kim who lives on the property. The accommodations were charming & comfortable, and we really enjoyed morning conversations with other guests at breakfast. The breakfast offerings were generous and included a freshly made frittata each day. The location is ideal for exploring Newburyport on foot or day trips by car around the region. We will definitely rebook for our next visit!

Marshall and Courtney have curated a hip, comfortable, and immaculate space that is a joy to spend time in. Addison Choate is nestled in an adorable walkable beach town that is an easy trip from Boston. We had a fantastic time, and will be sure to be back!

It was a perfect weekend getaway for the three of us. The room was comfortable and we were able to play a board game in the common room before turning in. The hosts made good recommendations for stores and restaurants to explore which was appreciated. We’ll be back!

Christophers place was perfect for our stay! Comfortable and cozy. They were responsive and helpful. There were drinks and snacks out and a delicious breakfast! It was such a cool place!!

Very timely response once I booked. Someone was waiting outside at night and helped my daughter and I bring in our bags and gave us a tour and let us know some very helpful travel hints to Salem. Would recommend.

We loved our stay at the Compass Rose. We didn’t really interact or communicate with Christopher, but rather with the Innkeeper, Kim Carrasco. Our review is based on her interactions and response. She was welcoming and wonderful and easily reachable. Earlier that day, we were offered a different larger room that was available, so that was thoughtful and generous. The rooms were clean and quiet. We have a four-year-old and Kim was sweet and playful with him. Breakfast was delicious and homemade. We loved the location and enjoyed the company of the other guest. We would stay here again!

Very friendly Host, everything was clean, the rooms are the coolest I've ever seen - Hope really got an eye for details! To go to the center is around 30 Minutes to walk, else you can get an uber. We felt really welcome and can recommend this AirBnb 200% - it's just an experience itself.

Staying at the William Haskell House is an unforgettable experience. The only expectation I had when booking was based on the many historical homes I have visited in the past, the ones where you walk behind velvet ropes and are not allowed to touch anything. If you like history and unique experiences, you will enjoy going back in time and experiencing life at home as it was four hundred years ago. You get to sit on the furniture, sleep in the beds, and touch the many historical pieces littering the home. Yes, there are plenty of modern conveniences—a nice kitchen, several bathrooms, WiFi (but almost no cellphone reception) and even two TVs—but the experience feels authentic. The furniture, the smell of mint when you open the back door, the spinning wheel, the sound of birds, nature both inside and outside…it all transports you to an earlier time. The host was responsive and very helpful, the home was clean, and there were plenty of things to keep us busy during our stay.

Loved our stay! The house was so warm and welcoming. The room was very cozy. We’d definitely stay again! I wish I would have taken pictures of the gorgeous dining space with the beautiful breakfast spread in the am which was a delightful surprise. It felt like staying with family.
