Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Essex County

We planned a trip to Boston and had to leave early to avoid a snow storm. Karen was extremely flexible, made it so that we could extend our stay but arriving early at her inconvenience. This is going above and beyond for clients. The house was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. A lot of good restaurants and quaint stores nearby. This was a memorable trip for us. Thank you Karen for making that happen for us.

We loved our stay at this property. The house is much more historic and lived in, if you are after a pristine and modern stay, this might not be the place for you. But the house more than made up for it in character and cozy vibes, and it fit in perfectly in the charming historic neighborhood in Marblehead. The area has a lot of wonderful spots you can walk to, and the host provided historical information about the area and the house as well! We were so grateful for John’s proactive communication, we didn’t have any issues but I’m confident if we had he would have quickly resolved them! Overall my family had a wonderful weekend and we spent the drive home saying home much we’d love to make another trip in the summer to enjoy the ocean more!! Thanks John for a memorable weekend!

After a very hectic week I was looking forward to this getaway weekend. Normally I’m a bit more engaged with my hosts so I want to apologize for initially not saying more than “Great! Thanks!” during the check in process. Erin made the process very easy and my friend and I were settled in quickly. As someone who loves to cook and quality home theater the spacious fully stocked kitchen and Dolby Atmos surround sound was more than I could have ever wanted. Thank you Erin. Can’t wait till next time.

Had everything you needed to sleep, cook and stay while visiting family.

We needed someplace to stay for 2 weeks while our house was undergoing major repairs from water damage. We loved the space—the electric car charger and the bidet were amenities that really stood out that we have at home but didn’t expect to find in an airbnb! The house itself is cute and airy, and we felt very at home there. We particularly enjoyed the good water pressure, which was better than at our house. We especially appreciated that Ken and Amy let us bring our dogs and cats—not very many airbnbs were OK with all our pets. Ken and Amy were fabulous hosts and we would absolutely love to stay there again!

We had a fantastic stay at Peter and Maria’s place! They were wonderful hosts—quick to respond to any questions and incredibly thoughtful in ensuring my stay was as comfortable as possible. The house itself is absolutely adorable, with a cozy and inviting feel. It’s fully stocked with everything you could need—kitchen appliances, coffee, a kettle, utensils, and even a well-stocked shower. Whether you’re cooking, relaxing, or just settling in, you’ll have everything you need to feel at home. The neighborhood is welcoming, surrounded by beautiful nature, making it a peaceful and enjoyable place to stay. I highly recommend this Airbnb and will definitely be returning in the future!

This is an older ranch with a spacious kitchen and super comfortable beds. A beautiful beach is steps down the road. It is the first house off the highway, so you may hear traffic noise. There is a dehumidifier, which you will need to turn to the highest setting. The host is friendly and very responsive.

Heather was a great host who was quick to respond with any questions. The house was spacious and clean. Near plenty of good places to eat but secluded enough for peaceful evenings. Would stay again if vacationing in or around Gloucester.

What a gem! Exactly as described, but pictures do not do it justice! Shawn was very responsive when I had questions and very flexible. The drinks and snacks were GREATLY appreciated! This has to be my favorite rental!

Really enjoyed staying here!! The place was really nice and cozy, easy to get in and out of the driveway. Train station wasn’t a terrible drive and it was cheap for parking the day. Very much recommend

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful apartment, with its many personal touches. We visit Cambridge from the UK as often as we can to see our daughter and son in law, and it is so nice to feel ‘ at home’. The beds are super comfortable and the shower an absolute joy!! We hope to be returning again soon Thank you

Great place, the house is wonderful, we like it a lot... the house was very clean, the kitchen is very well equipped, the street is very quiet to park the car... Tesfaye very helpful, friendly,.. I would definitely go back to rent this house ..

We came in from out of town for a few days and were so pleased with our stay. The house was clean and comfortable. It was very close to the beach and walkable to the center for entertainment and restaurants. We would absolutely book again. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

Our family really enjoyed our long weekend at Donald’s place. The location is great, right in the middle of Marblehead, walkable to old town and the various shops and restaurants that dot the area— a great base for visiting friends and family on the north shore. We’ll definitely look to stay here again if available the next time we’re in the area.

My stay at the Marsh-Mellow, hosted by MaryJane, was phenomenal. From check-in to check-out, the process was simple as MaryJane had clear, detailed instructions on how to enter as well as great recommendations on what to do in the area. I have no hesitation when I recommend this space as your next getaway trip. You will not be disappointed!

This was a wonderful stay. Host was responsive when we needed something but never invasive. Location was a short 5 minute drive from town - close enough to be an easy trip but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful at night. Would stay again.

This location was great! Walkable to the main attraction areas but off the beaten path for a more private feel. The home was so clean and modern. All three bedrooms were a great size. The bathroom was very updated and the built in shower system was awesome, with great water pressure. Tristan was a great host and very responsive. Would definitely go back!

Kelly's place was perfect for myself and my husband and two year old daughter. It's a gorgeous and tastefully updated older home. Everything was very comfortable, very clean, and in a great location only a mile or so from downtown Salem and walkable to coffee and restaurants. Kelly was super responsive and helpful before, during, and after our visit.

Christina's property was a wonderful place to escape to for a few days! It is the perfect size for 1-2 people, has everything you need, and the view is unbeatable. The parking space is incredibly convenient and the location of the property provides easy access to the rest of Bearskin Neck and Rockport proper. I hope to stay here again in the future!

This is a great find if you are visiting Salem. Close to downtown and has great amenities for a stay with multiple people. Very responsive host and quick to answer any questions!
