Holiday rentals with beach access in Funchal

Great place that matches the pictures:) You can hear the waves rushing and are at the sunniest point of the island. The communication was good and it was handled very carefully with wishes and criticism.

Communication with the hosts was perfect, from checking in, through getting some local recommendations to checking out. The owners are very thoughtful of their guests, there was a basket of local goodies waiting for us in the apartment when we arrived. The only thing I could complain about the apartment are the beds. They're just 140cm wide, quite hard, bouncy and very squeaky. Other than that, all was perfect, the kitchen is perfectly equiped. The place is very peaceful, it was just us and the ocean. Highly recommended!

Everything was great with the accommodation. Iri took great care of the well-being and has an open ear for improvements for future guests.

We were very kindly received by Julie and were able to use the apartment longer on the day of departure. The view of the harbor of Funchal is breathtaking and we liked the terrace very much. A special plus was the parking space on the premises.

The flat is very clean, it has everything you need for your stay and it is close to the sea. We enjoyed every moment of our holiday, it was great to be able to hear the sea from the flat. I can absolutely recommend the flat and the location, and as a plus the coffee and the baked goods at the bakery below the flats are just great. If you like jogging, this is also the perfect place for that. You can run from the flat to the historical city centre and then run along the sea and watch the waves. Just an amazing experience. There are quite some hiking trails nearby, so after some beach time you can easily go for a wonderful hike. The hosts are very nice and friendly. Overall I can only recommend this place.

Luis Miguel’s place was just as described and much bigger than the pictures show. It’s in a great location, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Even though the building hallways are in need of a facelift, the apartment was crisp, clean and felt new. We would stay again!

Thank you Veronica for letting us stay here. You have a little charm here for sure. Loved sitting out on the front balcony watching the ocean something I could do all day. The corner restaurant was an added bonus and the food and service was great.

Stayed 8 nights at Leonor’s place and absolutely loved it. The best part of the house is the view and two separate balconies. The house was squeaky clean and had all the listed amenities+ extra. Location is in peaceful area at the top of a hill, but there are a lot of things to do within a 5-10 minute walk. We took a lot of Taxi’s, there was no issues finding the place. Friendly cat that lives outside, highly recommend.

This is a really great place with a wonderful garden. You can skip the trip to a botanical garden- it’s all there! The house is very clean and aesthetic, the kitchen has all what it takes. There is an outside BBQ and an oven inside. We can really recommend the place. The location is very close for hiking in the area of Rabacal or Porto de Sol.

Beautiful and peaceful place with a stunning view on the ocean! Accomodation was really comfortable and cozy :) You can fully relax there! Mariana and Miguel are helpful and friendly :) there ale two adorable cats and a goat :D we recomend this place 100%. Apartment is quit high (200m) so it’s way easier to go there by car. Otherwise, you will have a walk to go to a store or restaurant at the coast. There are many stairs shortcuts not to walk the road.

The place was great. On the balcony you had sun all day and a great view of the sea. In addition, the communication with Angela was great. She was on site at check-in and showed us everything again. Super friendly 😊🙌🏼

We had the very best time at this home! The apartment was clean, cozy, and stocked with everything we needed. We especially liked the great view and the authentic surroundings. We immediately felt comfortable here! The host was super friendly, communication went smoothly, and accessibility was straightforward. The road to the property, typical of Madeira, is quite steep and narrow. Driving and especially the daily parking can be a challenge at first – but if you get the hang of it and you park without scrap, it's almost fun. 😉 Overall an absolute recommendation – we'd come back anytime!

Our stay in Madalena was fantastic - absolutely amazing views of the mountains and the ocean, immediately felt right at home. We stayed for 3 days and it was exactly the relaxing home we needed after long days of hiking. Filipe was extremely responsive and gave us a huge list of recommendations for the entire island. We had a wonderful stay at the penthouse. The accommodation is fully equipped and has been handed over sparkling clean. Eva is an excellent host, was always very friendly and accommodating. The equipment of the accommodation is high-quality and tasteful, albeit a bit outdated. The large terrace was our absolute highlight, from here you could watch breathtaking sunsets. The other floors of the house are not inhabited, but you were not necessarily alone on the property: there is still a vacation home in the back of the property, and on the terrace of the second floor there was someone who also enjoyed the sunsets. Overall a very nice stay and an absolute recommendation!

Loved staying in Jose's apartment. It was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The apartment is located in a quieter area and is easy to explore the rest of the island with a car. Indoor secure parking was a definate plus.

We had a wonderful 10 days staying at Gary’s apartment. You could not wish for a better location in the heart of the Old Town. Everything we needed - sights, buses, restaurants. Supermarket and the bonus of the Xmas lights were on our doorstep. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend this apartment.

The apartment is spacious with a nice sunny afternoon aspect. The balcony gets the sun in the afternoon which we liked. There are 2 bedrooms and bathrooms. It was very quiet. The location on Rua da Casa Branca is perfect, surrounded by good restaurants and an easy walk along the front to the Lido, bathing areas and the Forum shopping area. We also enjoyed walking into Funchal city centre which takes about 30 minutes. It was our second stay of 4 weeks in the apartment and perhaps the best thing I can say about Casa da Avo is that it feels like a 'home from home' for my wife and I helping us to enjoy the many delights of Funchal and Madeira. Great place to stay for a couple. Bus stop right outside to connect to all parts of funchal. Comfortable bed, good shower and incredible view. Check in and out was a breeze. Great comms from Laura. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Chayanne is an attentive and kind host who went out of his way to make our stay extra comfortable, and gave us useful recommendations for our trip. The flat is peaceful and spacious and has everything you need; great selection of crockery, knives and pans, and one could easily stay a month here comfortably. There is a decent sized pool and a cosy balcony to enjoy the views. I highly recommend this place and I hope to come back here next time!

Delila was an great host. Apartment was clean with all the amenities. Location is great, close to the beaches, stores and restaurants. Bus stop is right in front of the apartment.
