Cottage holiday rentals in Gateshead

A very peaceful and quiet retreat in a lovely part of the North East. It was so quiet and relaxing spending time in the hot tub and inside the cottage. Although this is no fault of Rachael's and/or the cottage please be wary that if you're over 6 foot you will be ducking a lot! I banged my head twice coming out of the bathroom when going during the night and still half asleep (again, this is nothing against the host or the location - just a pre-warning!)

We had a lovely stay, the cottage was in an ideal spot and easy to get to the A1 to see different parts of Northumberland.

Our stay was absolutely perfect. Paul & Debbie are amazing hosts who are willing to help with anything we asked. Although just a short drive from Newcastle, we felt as though we were in the middle of nowhere surrounded by beautiful countryside. The cottage is gorgeous and extremely comfortable with everything you need including the most amazing private hottub. But the most amazing experience is with the alpacas who you can see from the cottage, have the opportunity to feed them and even take them for a walk which was just incredible. We were sorry to have to leave but will most definitely be returning! Thank you Paul & Debbie 😀

Just had a fantastic stay at Ivy cottage. Jane was a brilliant host with plenty of info on arrival. The cottage is so comfy and cosy. Added bonus having the games room, will 100% be back. Thanks Jane.

Four of us have just spent 3 nights in Peewit Cottage. From the moment we arrived, we all felt right at home, the place was spotless, beds very comfortable too! Everything you could possibly need for a self catering stay was provided. Having the private hot tub was fabulous, we loved it after full days of being tourists in the local area. On a separate note, we would highly recommend a visit to Beamish Museum which was about a 30 min drive, we also spent a day in Durham City & booked a 2.5 hr History/City Tour with walkaboutdurham - highly recommended. Tour Guide Peter is very knowledgeable & so passionate about his job plus he gives everyone a "free" cocktail voucher for Turtle Bay - well deserved after 2.5hrs walking around the City 🤣🤣

Regular visitors to Mark’s property and we are yet again impressed with our stay. It has become a home from home on our trips to the north.

We had a brilliant stay at Wrens nest cottage. The location is great for exploring and Marske beach was great for the dog to have a good run. We loved being able to walk into town in the evening for few drinks. Brass monkey was particularly good and twisted peel has some great cocktails. Almost everywhere is dog friendly. The cottage is immaculately clean and beautifully decorated with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. The bed is comfortable and the bed linen is good quality and smelled lovely. The bathroom is gorgeous and the bath is fantastic. We enjoyed lighting the fire in the evening and watching Netflix on the smart tv. The enclosed courtyard is a real bonus if you have a dog.

Really great Air BnB. spotlessly clean, decorated very well and it's a huge space over 2 floors. we absolutely loved it and would definitely stay again!

A beautiful place to stay inside and out. The views were breathtaking! Our little dogs loved playing in the garden which was well fenced (even our mischievous Westie couldn’t find a way to escape!) The fire was such a nice touch, we loved having fires each day. Wood was supplied if you didn’t use the heating which was great! Coming from a city we don’t have a fire so happy to not use the heating! Kate was so responsive and really friendly. We even had some fresh eggs from her hens which was so lovely. We were thrilled to see the property in snow on our last night/day it really just rounded off our stay perfectly! If you are thinking about booking..do it! Also the shower is great! (Always something I judge! Haha) Can’t wait to rebook!❤️

We love this property, it’s our second stay now. Just right for accessing Sunderland and minutes from the seafront. We shall be visiting again.

The Nest is exactly what it says on the tin: a cosy little stone cottage that has made the most of every nook and cranny! Considering its coziness, the cottage is well-equipped and has everything you’ll need during your stay. If staying in winter, you’ll need the log burner on the go, but upstairs will be toasty and comfortable. As a host, Annette is lovely and full of recommendations and is always responsive to a message, should you need her. There are some great walks on your doorstep and having the two pubs and a couple of local shops in the village is a bonus!

Great hosts, always contactable, really nice place, great views and tge beds are so comfy. Cosy house. Shops are handy and loads to do not too far away.

What can I say... Absolutely fantastic place. You couldn't ask for anything more. Really peaceful location with fantastic views of the hills etc. We had a strange issue but this was sorted out very swiftly by Malcolm 👍 We will definitely be looking to book again and have another peaceful time just watching the world go by. A gorgeous house in beautiful gardens and surroundings. More than big enough for 8 of us and our dog with plenty of kitchen utensils and crockery. Vanessa was the perfect host, very friendly, responsive and helpful! We’d love to stay again!

Abbey Hill Cottages to high above W. Hartlepool. They are well equipped.Beds are comfortable and so is sitting room furniture. Plenty of hot water. Good shower.Lots of space. I would stay again.

We couldn't be happier with our stay at Sunrise Cottage. The house was cosy, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Peter kindly provided tea, milk and butter which was so helpful. Would highly recommend and we would love to stay again!

We had a wonderful few days at Alison and Paul's property. Beautiful location, the cottage was really cosy and homely and Alison and Paul are excellent hosts - the cooked breakfast was superb! Our 2 children loved feeding the chickens and pottering around in the top field. We found it a really relaxing place to stay and can't recommend it highly enough, we will definitely stay here again

We had a lovely relaxing stay at the cottage, with our young Labrador. The accommodation was comfortable and cozy and the surrounding area very quiet. The enclosed rear garden was excellent for our dog, and would be a lovely place to sit in warmer weather. Hexham and Corbridge are a short drive away and are nice places to visit. There are plenty of nice local walks. I am sure that we will be back to stay again.

This place suited us perfectly; we enjoyed some lovely walks local to the property and still had easy and quick access to Durham and Newcastle. It was very peaceful and quiet, with plenty of space inside. Would definitely book again.

had a fantastic relaxing weekend at the cottage , this is our second time here we like it so much. very peaceful and private with great views and places to walk with our dogs, cottage itself is pristine, perfect location and garden area is ideal , look forward to our next visit hopefully soon 😀 also our horses for neighbours are brilliant too 😀

A beautiful secluded location, set amidst a tree lined valley with the river Coquet running through. The accommodation was of a very high standard, comfortable and stylish. Well equipped and always warm (under floor heating). Hosts were friendly and helpful, providing useful tips on worthwhile places to visit.
