Holiday rentals in Hali-ela

Just incredible! We kept extending our stay! This is an absolute hidden gem of a place with views to die for. The cabin is so beautiful with huge windows and lovely character. The bed is so comfortable too. We had three very friendly dogs keep us company and the neighbours cat! Watching the storms from the upstairs window was incredible and seeing fireflies in the trees was so magical! Sidhu kindly ordered us local breakfast from town each morning and had it delivered to us. He is the most helpful host and always responds quickly. He really goes out of his way to help you and messages to check you’re ok and if you need anything each day. The cabin is truly a place to relax, unwind and you can spend so much time just staring at the view and watching the wildlife (birds, monkeys, frogs!) I would love to return someday. Had a great stay. It’s a property with a gate hard to spot but it’s there 😊. The property is close to both the railway station and also to the Main Street so easy to find places to eat. The master bedroom toilet seat etc could be changed and interiors upgraded to give a brighter look, but as we stayed there only two days and spent most of it outside, no complaints.

If you’re looking for an adventurous and unique place to stay, this is the one! The location is beautiful in a really peaceful spot, right next to a stunning waterfall and not far from town. Communication was excellent and the hosts were so kind and welcoming! The in-house food wasn’t the best but it’s easy to get into town if you’re looking for something less basic. Overall we loved our stay here and would definitely recommend.

Bola was an amazing host at the Villa. He sent a driver to pick us up when we arrived and made us dinner at the villa! He gave us some helpful tips, was very attentive, and even drove us to our next destination. I will definitely stay here if I return to Ella! 10/10 recommendation:)

It was great, the owners were very nice to me, the place is in a paradise of plants and the view is amazing. The breakfast was very tasty, you felt at home.

I had a pleasant stay at this well-maintained property. The space was clean, comfortable, and well taken care of, making for a relaxing experience. The host was responsive, and the overall ambiance was great. However, I believe bath accessories could be improved to enhance the experience further. With a few upgrades or adjustments, this place could be perfect. Would still recommend it for a comfortable stay!

We can only report positives about the place. The location seemed a little remote at first, but there are a lot of activities and hiking in the surrounding area. Its quite and the view is incredibly beautiful. Nevertheless, you can quickly get into the city. Gemini always helped us and even drove us with his tuk tuk. He always responded to our requests and needs. He and his wife were incredibly helpful, kind, and thoughtful. We are very happy to have been with them. The breakfast was very comprehensive and delicious, and was prepared with love. We were able to enjoy it privately for us with an incredibly beautiful view. At the time, our requests were also taken care of. We also noticed positively that another review noted that a refrigerator was missing and it was available during our stay. Overall, we are very happy to have been here, very warm and friendly!

Home away from home ! A family home built to showcase Sri Lankan ancient architecture provided with all the luxury you are looking for a very comfortable stay ! All the rooms and other areas are very spacious. Cleanliness is maintained to the highest standards. Communication with the host is very easy. Delicious food prepared by the caretakekers (two lovely mothers) was so nice. Our group will remember the motherly care offered by the caretakers with all the fond memories of Badulla. We will recommend this place for groups looking for peaceful, comfortable, safe and lovely accommodation in Badulla. Marina Primali

Arawe Retreat is simply fantastic. From the beautifully appointed accommodation, to the attentive yet relaxed staff, to the tastiest food in Ella. We really had the best time here. Just a short Tuk Tuk from the busy centre of Ella, Arawe retreat provided an oasis of nature focused calm which was hard to leave. Ishanka and his team really have got things just right by creating the retreat around the existing nature and enhancing it. The wildlife noise at night is really something to behold and helps you drift off into relaxed tropical dreams. Huge thanks to Ishanka, Chaggar, Suren and Dashan. You really made this visit memorable and also a special thanks to Banda and Manike. We hope to get the chance to visit again x
